My name is Kaiya Pelletier and I am documenting my metal journey as I discover and listen to metal music for the first time ever. I'm in my mid 20's and I've been a singer songwriter and performer for over 10 years. Currently I live in Stillwater, Oklahoma and I am in the process of recording my 4th album. I have a Bloodhound named Spooner, I love Mexican food, collecting Stephen King novels, collecting CD's and cassettes and my favorite movies are tied between Jurassic Park and Alien.

Love me some Volbeat!! they got music influnced by Metallica, Elvis, Johnny Cash, and even Jerry lee lewis, but still make it their own Volbeat sound, yes its a band i got a special playlist for, and listen to it now and then, very good band..
Its also on my bucket list to see them live on a bigger outdoor arena.. maybe next time they play at the Danish national fottball stadium i will be there..
They also do a nice cover of "I'm So Lonesome I Could Cry" originally by Hank Williams Sr.

Some here in Denmark referer to them as Elvis Metal. He is an Elvis fan.
I love Volbeat with their ass-kicking Old School Heavy Metal and Groove Metal sound mixed with Rockabilly and some traces of Punk here and there.

Their vocalist Micheal Poulsen started as a death metal vocalist but wanted to sing something else so he started Volbeat.
In a band called Dominus, I saw Dominus live in Ribe in 2000ish :)
Their video for “Die to Live” featuring Neil Fallon from Clutch is a must see. It’s one of the most fun songs I’ve seen in years. No lap steel like this one but the addition of sax and Jerry Lee Lewis reminiscent piano.

I haven’t been listening to Volbeat that much, but the Enter-the-ring song “a warrior’s call”, that Volbeat made to the danish boxer Mikkel Kessler is 🔥. -They gave him his own original fight-song. What a tribute. The song “a sad man’s tongue” is also worth checking out. I Think it’s a Johnny Cash song.
Volbeat is amazing live. Just amazing.
In my opinion the best album so far is "Seal the Deal & Let's Boogie". That being said songs like Lonesome rider , Heaven nor Hell, Fallen, Becoming, Dagen før, Shotgun Blues, Temple of Ekur, Pearl Hart, Cape of our Hero and Lola Montez also are very much worth listening to. 🙂

One thing I forgot to mention on the Patreon, they do loose concept albums. More like a theme for each album but there are some characters - some real, some fictional. We all know you love that stuff.

Since you are mainly into Death metal, check out his former band (1991-2001) Dominus. The quality of the videos isn't great tho, so probably more something for you to check out without making a video. If interested to hear his harsh vocals.
