wow Bruce is a very underrated guitar player....amazing solo!
this is what is rock and roll. music, story and theater. sing the story.
I saw Bruce and the E Street Band do this in 1978 in Vermont, and it was the most amazing concert I have ever seen. I saw Bruce and Patti do this as part of the Rolling Stone Rock "n Roll Hall of Fame shows in fall 2009. That was even better! (Patti once explained that Bruce sent her a cassette of the song and wanted more lyrics, which she added. They have always positioned this as a song they co-wrote, and when they sang it together, there shouldn't have been a dry eye in the joint.
WOW..... seen him many times never fails to impress......in fact he gets better. No artist commands an audience like Bruce & never will.
Most artists would have a hall of fame career with just Bruce's outtakes that never made it to a record. Bruce in concert is an experience that stays with you for ever.
The Boss is one of the best artist in the world. He's lyrics are like poetry. I hope to be at one of his gigs on this year tour.
Best performance of this song I've ever heard... the voice and the guitar of Bruce are awesome... HE is THE BOSS! STOP!
I have prayed for Bruce to overcome all of the difficulties that faced him when Clarence passed away. God has given him a Mother who is a Mother for the ages, and blessed her with long life because he knew that she is is the Rock in his Roll.
I have prayed for Shayne Fontayne because God put it in my heart to pray for him. How happy I was when he sent me an email to let me know that he was touring with Crosby Stills and Nash.
When God said make a joyful noise, Bruce was paying attention. "Because The Night" solo was the soul of a man speaking through the strings of his instrument and "Proving that He Owns The Night and that if there is re incarnation, I absolutly want to come back as Bruce's guitar!!!
THE BEST VERSION
I usually don't like the "other band" stuff as much, but this is goood, raw and rockin'. Springsteen Rules.
Bruce Springsteen wrote this song for Patti, its the reason he plays it and he made it as he`s own with the solos..
This song rules so much.
I'm with you on this one, but Bruce wrote the song, so respect once again to the Boss!
WoooooooooooW!!!! That was totally AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!! That was pure guitar PASSION. WoooooooW!!!!!
I admire the energy he spreads !!! Absolutely awesome
Awesome guitar solo! That's why he's known as the Boss!!
BRUCE WROTE THE WHOLE Music.
Patti the text
he's a genius...
LOVE THE SONG SO MUCH!!
great performance; a very emotional bruce
great patient, well paced solo by bruce - play it like this today man
Immortal solo.
the solo...the solo...HOW CAN BE THIS POSSIBLE?! O.O
best version ever of this song is from passaic played on the 19th august 1978. also the best guitar solo ever played in because the night...
The scriptwriter and the actor are often diferent people, dependent on each other, because even the genius text is nothing without good recreation /and vice versa/.So my compliments to Bruce's work, but my astonishment came after Patti's performance.
Peace from Bulgaria-Theater academy.
Love so pure and real, these lyrics are magical that you dont find in songs today! :)
CHE SPETTACOLO!!! mitico Boss!!!
Bruce is Godgifted... The Boss
I want to see BRUCE LIVE !!!
Sometimes it is fun to listen to the "other band"

Out of breath just watching that, awesome
love you boss.. what a great guitar solo.. king of rock & roll..
this is very goog song. Bruce is the BOSS
I am in Awe with the guitar solo on this song. I hope E Street realizes that "The Other Band" could have been the one inducted into The Hall Of Fame.
This is way way way past *!!**!!*Awesome*!!*!!*
Awesometastic!
He seriously just went ham sandwich on the solo! Bruce is a beast!!!

Che bellezza!!! Questa è MUSICA!!
freaking AMAZING.
grande entre los grandes, el jefe es el jefe. the boss don´t stop your music
Love the Boss. In fact, now that the Beatles can never reunite, he's my favorite living act. But man, he loses something without the E-street band.
He looks funny but he still is the Boss with this awesome song.
The Best that ever has or will be!
This is awesome!
Wow! What an awesome version! Bruce is so much better live than in the studio. Forget about Patti Smith, don't even talk about the dj's who fucks up ths incredible song.
Next saturday I'm going to buy my ticket for The Boss! He and the E Street Band plays on Pinkpop on 30th of may.
Veuraan staon in de nekse pens!
The Boss rulez!
You can't forget about Patti Smith on this song. Bruce was stuck. He had the music down but couldn't think of any lyrics so he offered it to Patti. She provided the lyrics to complete the song. It;s about her, then, boyfriend who was away at the time and they could only talk on the phone. Hence the first verse.
if you ask one of the best version
Doggybone1234, the original version was sung by Patti Smith. However, the song was co-wrote with Bruce Springsteen, prompting argument among the fans of each about who it belongs to. It is a regular live performance for Bruce, but the original was only released by Patti Smith, never by Bruce Springsteen. That said, I think they both do an awesome job.
What an artist! Love u Bruce.
GREAT version! the Boss rocks!!
Pero que buena versión!!! Gracias Bruce, lo máximo...the way i feel under your comand.. because the night belong to us!!!
Love ya Bruce:)
One of my favourites of sprinsteen :P
Springsteen was involved in writing this song? Mind = blown.
perfect quality.....
He is the boss!
He can make that telecaster sing Bruce is a very underrated guitarist.
He fucks up the words. I love it! Full marks for passion Bruce. This song rocks, can't decide between his version or Patti's
love that 90's style
Bruce does the best rough, scarred, blue collar version... Patti Smith = haunting exostential rendition; and marketability goes to 10,000 Maniacs....
Never mind what I think of his politics... if there ever was a guitar hero and a rock and roll legend, This IS IT.
this and the paris 85 are the best ones
I saw Bruce Springsteen in Oakland about a year &1/2 ago. I still think Patti's version has more soul because it's acoustic and personal.
love that 90's look
very nice
It's Prove It All Night from Darkness on The Edge of Town. One of my personal favourite Bruce songs :)
bruce the boss!
the boss at his best! :)
Badass!!!!
Damn, I had no idea he had covered this song... fucking awesome
Fantastic track !!! Love Patti's version toooooooooo !
j'adore tjrs autant
ti adoro Bruce!!!!
the Best!
He's God's boss!!!!
THE BOSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
bruce sei immenso
Grande!
I didn't know he could shred! The Boss can cook on that lead guitar!
One of the rare song that seems to sound better with the "Other Band" than the "E Street Band"...
grande boss !!!!!!!!!!!
Yeah I think so too *__*
That´s just great
man, bruce needs to write a new song with a 2 solos played by him and nils
totally agree
don't worry about it just listen to the one you like best
Great :)
I hear ya totally.
LOL That's ok. I was still a little bit confused on some parts, but you basically cleared it up for me! Thanks! ^_^
patti smith would not even have this song without bruce
Jesus Christ, this version is god damn epic, even if it's not with the E Street Band.
the Boss
Wow, I never knew Michael McIntyre played guitar along with Bruce...and with that hair too!!!
fantastic cover!!!
