    I will not say it enough ! The HQ method of 360 rumors is a game changer if you want to take your craft to the next level. Awesome Video! Usually with flash ambient lighting I blend manually in PS. Is this what you are doing? Like 3 bracket shot then 1 flash for fill? Every 90degree for full frame? I shoot with Sony A7RIII / Samyang 12mm fisheye 2.8 / AD200 Pro with Round Head and AK-R1 kit dome. My workflow is PS, PTGui, Topaz enhance software, then 3DVista Pro then will post on my host provider. I also use ThetaZ1 with dual fisheye plugin and Matereal for run and gun tours. I had no idea about the automated Pano head although I'm curious how it works with bracket shots and flash. I am going to take a look at those.

      Thanks Grant! My workflow differs depending on how I'm using the flash. The motorized panoramic head is useful for several things such as pole photography but I actually don't use it when i shoot with flash.

      Thanks! 5DS R would be very good for virtual tours because of its high resolution. As for a monopod, it is not recommended because it is not sufficiently stable. I recommend instead a tripod. Even a modestly priced one like benro will be much better than a monopod for taking panoramic shots.

      Hi Mario. Samyang 7.5 f/3.5 can work for panos. On MFT, it's a diagonal fisheye which works best with a multirow pano. As for lenses for a speed booster, I have one that is for Canon mount, which lets me use my Canon 8-15.

      Hi Hansel. You can use a multirow panohead such as the nodal ninja 3 or similar panohead. For the Nodal Ninja R1, you'll need a ring mount for your lens. If you can find one, then yes you can use the R series as well. If not, then you can't use the R series panohead for your lens.

    • @360vroomers
      @360vroomers  Год назад +1

      Thanks Adityavoda. Once you set the no parallax point then it should work anywhere. You don’t have to find it again every time as long as you use the same camera and same lens and same panoramic head. If you change the lens or the camera or the panoramic head, then yes you will need to search for the no parallax point again.

    I've never had a client dictate what kind of pano head or camera I use. If someone is out there telling photographers their business, you should tell them to go shoot it themselves since they're so knowledgeable! Don't let people treat you like you work for them, if/when you don't. They hired an expert, they should bloody well let the expert do the job!

    Hi, have you tried using Kolor Autopano Giga stiching software? The Kolor company no longer exists because it was acquired by GoPro and then left for bankruptcy, but the software is still very good and also handles HDR shots well. It also has a fully graphical interface unlike PtGui which is still textual. I believe it is also available for free. Thanks again for your always explanatory videos.

      Thanks ptira65. I tried it a long time ago but as you said it is no longer supported so I didn't do much with it. But from what I tried, ptgui is better.

    • @360vroomers
      @360vroomers  2 года назад

      Thanks George. It depends on the lens and how you are shooting. For example the Samyang 7.5 micro four thirds has a lens hood that is ok for MFT but if you use the lens on APS-C then you have to modify the hood. The main thing is to determine if you are using it as diagonal fisheye or not. If yes, the hood is fine. If you are using as cropped or circular then you need to check if the hood is reducing the fov of the lens.

Your opinion on this because you are a veteran on 360 photography what is the best lens to buy now, I want to give the best quality, the Nikon 8-15 mm it is not Z mount and then use the mount adapter you louse the 12mm and is not f/2.8 for interiors better 2.8 I think.

      Hi Daniel. Shaving off the lens hood requires tools and skill. I'm not good with tools so I wouldn't trust myself to do it. But if you already have the skill and tools then go for it. Hi Mic, great video and very informative. Per your suggestion in a reply to another video, a I'm considering getting a DSLR (full-frame mirrorless Sony alpha A7r ii) but I'm not sure which lens to get. In your video, you said the Samyan 8mm f/3.5 is good for full-frame cameras, but when you list them, you wrote the results are "ok" for a circular fisheye but will have the lowest resolution, and the cropped circular will also be ok but better resolution for a single row pano head. I'm kinda confused, is "ok" good or just ok? I want great pics with higher resolution. Which of the 3 lenses would you suggest work best for the Alpha A7r ii? Also, I plan to buy a multi-row panning head. Thanks in advance.

    • @360vroomers
      @360vroomers  3 года назад +1

      Hey there Mickie! Samyang 8mm f/3.5 on full frame is a cropped fisheye. If you want high resolution, then look for a diagonal fisheye and use a multirow panohead. I myself like detail too so I tested over a dozen fisheye lenses to see which one was the best one, and here's a hint: the most expensive is not necessarily the most detailed. ;)

    • @360vroomers

      Thanks Toicy. Ultra wide nonfisheye like laowa can also be used for shooting 360 and can even get higher resolution but it will require more shots and there is a higher chance that ptgui cannot stitch automatically, in which case you will need to spend more time to add control points etc. That is why I almost always use fisheye for 360. It is more practical and will save time. As for resolution, my current setup has more than enough so I don’t need to spend time shooting with nonfisheye to get higher res.

    Thank you for your very explanative video. Two questions:
    1) with multi row pano head you took 8 shots (6+2 up & down) while with single row, just 4 (no up & down). Was it because different pano heads use different lenses or was it just for the sake of the demo?
    2) For a walk through (e.g. in a house) you need also a host program like Virtual Tour Pro or is there a "free" way to upload a series of 360 photos linked to one another in a continuous manner?

    • @360vroomers
      @360vroomers  3 года назад +1

      Thanks D. Totief.
      1. With single row, you are usually using a cropped fisheye lens, which has 180 degree coverage vertically, so you are already capturing the top (zenith) and bottom (nadir). No need to take separate zenith or nadir shots unless you want to take a nadir patch shot to remove the tripod.
      2. For a virtual tour, there are several websites that offer free virtual tours. For example, theasys.io is free up to 5 tours.

How does one use this lens with a full-frame camera, such as a7iii?

      Hi Soumen. I understand that would have been better for you. Let me ask you though: I spent thousands of dollars trying out different equipment and hundreds of hours shooting and learning and editing. Instead of spending my time and money on my kids and their college education, I invested them here in the hope that people would appreciate and learn and maybe support me. If I gave my work for free, would it be fair to them or to my wife or to me? I’d like to know what you think.
