Thank you for the detailed video. I love my Lift away Navigator vacuum….crazy powerful, so i wan to see what else they have in the floor cleaning space. Agree on a no-steam option. You are a great domestician….everyone needs one of you!
Great review, thank you, I can tell you are very clean and follow the same procedure to wash the pads as I do, I just add an extra rinse so to make sure it gets rid of all the detergent. I will buy this machine, it does a great job. Thank you.
We wanted to buy a steam mop to save money on swifter wet and dry pads. We also wanted something natural that would still clean. After using it for several months I noticed the floors are clean however they are very dull and you can see swirls on the floor afterwards. I’d almost rather waste the money on swifter wet pads. They cleaned well and left the floor shinning. I wish Shark had a safe additive to add to the machine to leave a nice shine.
If you're looking to remove the shine off of your floors then this is the mop for you. I got this for Christmas and was so eager to use it , really enjoyed how it steamed and the spinning seemed like a great idea. It's been around a month now and I've noticed my floors look dull and with no shine at all. I was thinking maybe it was the salt from the outside (salt to melt the snow) but I think it is definitely the mop. I'm really upset as my entire floor colour has changed and just looks terrible. Definitely think about what's happening with this mop it's scrubbing the finish off of your floors little by little like a sander.
I noticed the same on the porcelain tiles. The floor looks dull. The grout needs to be cleaned as well, but this mop doesn't do the job. I had to go back and clean the grout again with another mop. Also I have noticed with the hot steam the grout is drying out and cracking.
Try using distilled water. Might take a few cleanings, also if any previous cleaners had wax in them. A traditional mop of Vinegar water mix can remove both. Then use distilled water steam from then on. Softeners/adds like scented booster beads, in laundry detergent might leave residue in pads too. Again a wash with vinegar water, or non softener detergent might help.
Thank you for making this awesome content for fellow cleaning product enthusiasts! I appreciate the level of detail you provide 😊 While this is a handy product, the lack of polishing and potential for issues with unsealed or laminate are deal breakers. Love that you were able to give me the real answers I came looking for so that we can make informed buying decisions. 10/10
I also agree I thank y for this very detailed video. It did help me make a decision as I am already a steam mop owner of the previous pocket version. Man, I think you need to send this to the designers if you have not already Shark engineers need to see this and weak for an upgrade version. I agree with you on all the pros and cons of this device. Thank You for your video.
I caught my 2 mode on sale at Walmart and was initially happy with it. My floors are not filthy filthy by any means but it took me a month this time. I have a large hardwood floor great room and hall. Tile in kitchen and two bathrooms. Took a little to get some spills off the tile. Thought it was fine and clean and went back over my hardwood with a disposable mop pad and still a lot of dirt even after two cleanings with the Shark. I’m not impressed anymore. Taking it back tomorrow. I haven’t tried the tile. I am calling Stanley Steamer because my grout needs to be cleaned in some areas. They have always done my grandparent’s house and floors look like new after. I was not expecting professional results btw but something easy and quick. It did leave my hardwood full so I have to polish it. Curious as to an alternate floor cleaner now.
Your floors may have been dirtier than you thought. I just bought this today and I hadn’t cleaned my floors in a while so i have to go back over with it a second time because once the steam mop picks up a lot of nastiness it’ll stop cleaning properly so I’m thinking a few times of going over it should do the trick. My hard wood in front of my front door however feels amazing.
Hey I'm a carpet cleaner myself, I try to inform customers that plug in wall equipment have very little power. It's mainly to maintain the light dirt. When it come to grout cleaning and remove long term stains on tile, you will need a professional machine. Most use a gas high pressure machine that reach up to 1500 psi to remove tough stains. Hope this helps you
Cool. I might get this. I just happen to realize cleaning with water saves on the chemical cost too. This looks like a unique product for floors meeting a sweet spot between cost and function because it's doing a little scrubbing. I can't imagine how long that would take me to do all that scrubbing.
Thank you for your Shark Steam Mop demonstration. I am considering. Currently I have a Bissell crosswave which works pretty good but it leaves streaks ans doesn't clean as well as I would like. So far I think this is the best product for steam cleaner however, Shark needs to add two features to this steam mop. 1. Make it cordless 2.make it vacuum submtaneously
I just received the mop with only two cycles and no lights, but it's fine for me. I agree it's cumbersome removing the left-over water from the small tank. This was a design mistake as far as I'm concerned, But the good news is I was able to cut a small piece of clear plastic tubing and push it onto the end of a large syringe. I place the tube down into the tank and just draw out the excess water. My husband is a tube feeder so these items were readily available. This sure beats turning the unit upside down!!! By the way - the directions say to only use distilled water. Thanks for your review!
It doesn’t say to only use distilled water. It says recommend to use distilled water. Most people probably won’t bother and just buy a new steam mop in 4-5 years.
Hi Can u plz tell if it dries the floor also? I am looking for a steam mop that dries the floor alongwith mopping I really like this one but seems like it is not drying Can u plz explain
I would like the Steam Mop to have some kind of notification that the water tank is empty. Also, an on off switch would not hurt. With regard to the water tank, the type of plastic used makes it a bit difficult to see the level of water although if you look closely the water level can be determined.

Great review. I have a high shine laminate flooring. Do you think this would be safe to use on it? I have a large dog that leaves a lot of drool mark that dry any look awful on the high shine floors.
I bought a Shark HydroVac and I'm thinking of taking it back and getting a steam mop instead. The HydroVac doesn't get up close to any walls which is frustrating
Walmart sells a box of replacement pads that also come with "dusting" pads that say they're for dusting and polishing the floors. However it doesn't specify if they can be used dry or not.
I have a non-spin shark steam mop pro. However the plug is getting hot after cleaning a single room, the prongs on the cord are literally too hot to touch. My vacuum doesn’t make the outlets warm at all so I’m wondering if it’s the Mop. Or perhaps since I always run it on Scrub mode. I’m considering trying this spin mop as a replacement. Thanks for the review.
@@selgeness what I do is I empty it out, and leave the cap open for a day for it to air dry. Being a steam mop though, it’s ok for a few drips of water to remain in the tank.

Aside from it's inability to polish (not relevant to my needs) how well do you think this cleans compared to the Bissell SpinWave? I'm currently looking at both.
I like the Shark more, due to the steam function, but both clean pretty well. Neither perform miracles, but they’re great for maintaining a clean floor, and taking care of general stuck on messes.
The steam comes through the pads. You can set the steam level with the controls on the front (3 levels), and its constant at the level you select during use.

Why are they taking all your info down if they’re not going to call you back if you get disconnected with all the waiting they make you do and live streaming to prove your machines broken. My next step is to epoxy these pieces in once this dries out. If that don’t work I’ll ship it to shark and they can shove it…
It came with my Haan steam mop! It’s just a 1/2 inch foam pad, reminds me of those knee pads/mats used for gardening. There’s lot of things that would work, but I liked that my other steam mop included one.
@@VacTech1 Oh, thank you so much! I already have one of those garden knee pads! Ive had mine for 2 years and been putting floor polisher in it despite it saying not to. It works great and hasnt broken. Kinda weird that its a floor " Polisher" that not supposed to take floor polisher in it lol
This machine isnt doing anything on my wood floor. Barely removing any dirt and stains. Ran it several times and nothing. But the water made all my floors super sticky. Can i put cleaner on the ground and run the scrubber over it?
Looks like the spinning parts may be contributing to dust/left over debris particles being flown out by the sideways. Replacing the pads midway and refilling the tank sound cumbersome.
If your floor is very dirty, you clean it by vacuum cleaner at first before use this machine. the dust wont flown out, because steam will keep it on the pads
Yeah that category is relatively new, and a lot of those machines are mediocre cleaners. I would start with a Bissell Spinwave, and see if it will work for your needs.
@@alicablu5529 The cordless is more convenient, but if you have a ton of flooring to cover, the corded model will run indefinitely, until the cleaning job is finished. I'm not sure of this, but the corded model may have more brush agitation too, as it doesn't have to worry about battery life.
There are holes on the back of the base where you stick the handle in. Get a small screwdriver and stick the screwdriver in the hole that is right under the cord hook and pull the handle up until it's out.

Uh oh! You could contact Shark about it. Maybe they'll help you under warranty. I bought extra pads from Best Buy, and haven't had issues getting them to stick to the mop (yet anyway). How are you washing them?

That's a great question. If the floor has a smooth finish on top, sure. If the floor is really rough or bumpy, the pads could snag on the flooring, and wear out quickly. If you try it, I'd like to hear your feedback!
Is it wobbly and heavy? I tried another brand (the one mentioned also) and it is very heavy. At the same time, it is like me being controlled by the mop instead of me controlling the mop.

Ugh thank you for this video!
Nice job and a big help.
Can you put cleaning solution in it. And what buffing mop did you use.
This machine uses water only. The other mop I used was the Haan Multiforce Pro. I have a review of on my channel if you’d like to learn more about it.
What would you recommend for 2,500 square feet of white ceramic tile flooring? Im having a hard time find a good vacuum AND mop..
Yeah that category is relatively new, and a lot of those machines are mediocre cleaners. I would start with a Bissell Spinwave, and see if it will work for your needs.
@@VacTech1 cordless or the one with a cord? also thank you very much!
@@alicablu5529 The cordless is more convenient, but if you have a ton of flooring to cover, the corded model will run indefinitely, until the cleaning job is finished. I'm not sure of this, but the corded model may have more brush agitation too, as it doesn't have to worry about battery life.
How do take off mop handle?
There are holes on the back of the base where you stick the handle in. Get a small screwdriver and stick the screwdriver in the hole that is right under the cord hook and pull the handle up until it's out.

Where do you set the steam mop down when you’re done to avoid damaging the floor?
I have a kitchen mat that I set it on.
@@VacTech1 Is it silicone? What material is best that it won’t damage? By the way, I’m impressed by your wicked fast response.
A few other questions for when you have time. Do you still use your Shark Steam and Scrub? I got a great deal on one so I just hope it performs as decent as yours did in the video. Lastly, have you ever used a Bissell handheld Steam Shot for odd job cleaning?
@@Jet_Threat my kitchen mat is memory foam with a vinyl covering.
I still use the mop regularly, and really like it. It’s the best steam mop I’ve ever used. I really like the washable pads.
I haven’t tried that Bissell yet, but I’ll keep an eye out for one!
Anyone know if this can safely be used on laminate floors?
No. Do not use steam on laminate or LVP. It will mess them up over time.
the mop scrubs do not stick to the velcro area after a few uses any ideas or replacements I need?
Uh oh! You could contact Shark about it. Maybe they'll help you under warranty. I bought extra pads from Best Buy, and haven't had issues getting them to stick to the mop (yet anyway). How are you washing them?
So which item would clean and handle the finishing touches?
What was the other steam machine you used
Greetings,
What Haan steam mop model is that?
Hello! It's called the Haan Multiforce Pro. I have a video review of it on my channel, if you want to learn more about it.
@@VacTech1 Thank you for a quick response. I am afraid the only problem with this Haan steam mop is that it can’t scrub…
@@VacTech1 Now, someone make the same Shark steam mop, but cordless. :) Once you go cordless p, you can’t go back…
@@Igorsov That model Haan actually can scrub. The pads oscillate back and forth at a high speed, and it does a great job scrubbing the floor. Great machine, if you can find one.
Wonderful. Just the information I needed. Very concise.
Thanks a lot!
How do I disassemble this model to de-calcify? It doesn't steam. I've tried CLR and vinegar. I use distilled water in it. TIA
Mine stopped steaming 7 months in.
Just got the other version but no steam is coming out of mine, how come?
Hi Vac, what vacuum cleaner are you using in this video?
That was a vintage Panasonic Arm stick vac.
Can you please let me know the name of your other machines your using to polish the floor
Sure. I use my Bissell Spinwave, and my Haan Multiforce Pro. They can agitate without steam/solution, so they're great for applying floor polish.
@@VacTech1 thank you for the information, many blessings.
@@VacTech1 how abt all in one mahince. steam & scrubbing/only steam mop/only scrubber polishing/multi steam cleaner ? our new machine have all these function in one unit. Already start sell in Europe, and soon will be US market.
Does anyone know how to fix the propellers mine are stuck but I don’t know how to access them to see what’s going on
So no solution (liquid cleaner)? Just water? Can we fill the tank with something?
Yep, only water. Cleans with steam only, no chemicals. Only water should be added to the tank on the machine.
But how do you drain the access water out of the reservoir
Does it work on aggregate floors too?
That's a great question. If the floor has a smooth finish on top, sure. If the floor is really rough or bumpy, the pads could snag on the flooring, and wear out quickly. If you try it, I'd like to hear your feedback!
Is it wobbly and heavy? I tried another brand (the one mentioned also) and it is very heavy. At the same time, it is like me being controlled by the mop instead of me controlling the mop.
No it's not. It's very light and takes minimal effort to move around. It moves around easier once the pads are wet too.
Good review, good information! Thank you!
Thank you!
Any plans for a numatic vacuum review?
I'll keep that in mind!
Pneumatic?
I want a cordless one. I just bought this one and took it out of box and I don’t think I got the right one
Great video as always. The Hann is still the one I would prefer to own, but I still haven’t been able to find one. May just have to go with this shark. Thanks for all the great info!
Thanks for the nice comment! Really happy with the Haan.
One for sale near me. New in box $200. Worth it?
@@rxonmymind8362 I had a coupon, but I paid $150 for mine from Best Buy. I think they retail for $160 or $170
