Why not use a series of oblique tooth gear to drive the drum instead of using belts? It would increase the weight a little, which however could be recovered elsewhere, but it would also increase the power of the drum and the general solidity of the system

It's unbalanced, the front is much heavier.

The real wild question about Minotaur is how they keep it balanced on *_one_* wheel. That takes some amazing engineering and masterful driving.
