This is a new one in me. I don’t think I’ve seen this one before. Is this a Chinese Pure Fishing Penn Reel? You always make these reel-in-a-bag projects look so easy! Great video Dennis. - Chris
Another great video, Thanks for sharing! Boy, Penn really made this reel difficult to service compared to an Avet reel, What a difference! Looks like 100 pcs compared to about 10 on the Avet.
Hi Dennis, I have two of these and it seems to me that the reel balances better when cranking in if the reel handle is in the power position. I haven't had any problems I remember with the drags sticking in these like I have had with all of my Okuma Coldwaters and Convectors. Thanks
Hi Dennis - Thanks again for your great videos and help with problem reels. I bought this reel for use on NE party boats. Mostly haddock.cod, etc. In one season I have had to replace the level wind gear (plastic) and now the reel has locked up. I have disassembled/reassembled the reel several times without success. The reel locks up after a couple of cranks. When I reopen the case the anti-reverse dogs are often displaced. I also noticed there is considerable play/wobble inn the main gear shaft. Bearing Issue? Anyway, glad to have any advice on possible solution. If not, it's going in the parts bin 😞. I think I'll take out one of my older "Made in USA" Penn's for the rest of this season. TIA!
I don't think this reel stands up to the Penn image. I would go with an older version or upgrade to the Squall Fathom. I don't like the Warfare, Defiance or Rival models that Penn sold. Just not that good over time
The Penn warfare 20n lasted me less than two seasons of fishing. The rivets holding the reel foot to the graphite frame came loose. The cost of time and money to send it into Penn for possible repair was cost prohibiting. Just sits in my pile of part reels now. The reel was a decent one , nothing special. Casting was okay and enough drag to fish the basic inshore Sourthen California gamefish. Seabass, yellowtail, bonito, barracuda.

Yes they did. Each piece has a purpose, but I think it is a bit complicated. Thanks for watching! Dennis

Thanks for the info! Some are set up better for the full leverage than the lesser one. It is a balancing act as you noted

@@2ndChanceTackle Thanks! In the parts bin it goes.
Man, that is a complicated machine! I think I’ll stick with jigmaster’s. No way I can remember all that stuff lol.
LOL - Thanks

I am not a fan of the Warfare, Rival or Defiance series. I guess we have that in common - Dennis
Very nice Reel but I would hate to tackle servicing one .
It's not that hard Bobby!
