H&M is german 😊
All three of those companies are "European"! Spain and Sweden are in Europe too, you know!
@@platypusperry9778 Hennes ( hers in Swedish) and Maurits.
Sarah You are wrong in this video in that way you say it, compared to how it is, H&M is the european H&M, TOP SHOP is the British H&M.
Sorry to be offtopic but does any of you know of a trick to get back into an Instagram account?
I was stupid forgot my login password. I love any tips you can offer me.
As a native New Yorker, you nailed it!!!!!!!
Century 21 Dept Store near World Trade Center and Path train is the best place to shop for branded products but great great prices!..it's been my fave shop when I am in NYC!
Yes, it is fantastic!
Mine too, half a day at least!😊
try at Nordstrom in 6th avenue with 31st, close to herald square and macy's ... they have very strong discounts there and very nice brands... p.s. last time have been in NYC I spent something like 4 hours at century 21 of wtc, including to lost my wife at 4th floor ahahahahaha
Best place ever to find cheap but good quality stuff.
Thank you, Sarah! We are having the best time ever on our first trip to NY. Just got this Ralph Lauren silk dress for 45$ in the City Opera Thrift Shop. Great ladies there. Lots of fun.
Super helpful, especially the thrift shop section. I'm stoked to check that part out. Thank you!
Wow, was in NYC 2 weeks ago and was at that exact place you started your Video...as always well done! and Macy's always great value for the "Dockers"

Hi I've just got back from a week in new York, it was a great holiday and your tips helped, thankyou 😊 🇬🇧
I'm so glad to help!
H&M is swede, It´s funny to hear you sayin that topshop is like the european version of H&M, girl, H&M is european too hahahah
H&M and bershka, including all inditex chain such as zara, pull and bear, stradivarius, and many more, are poorest brands of fashion ...
H&M is in all across America
@@ricardocampos6517 but not american.
@@ricardocampos6517yeah but it’s the biggest Swedish fashion chain just like IKEA for furniture. It’s short for Hennes och Mauritz.
Very much informative... Thanks alot Sarah! ❤️
Anytime! I hope you subscribed!
Great Sarah's☺think you🎬
Sales tax being added to the displayed price is such a rort! I'm sure every single person that lives in a country where prices include tax can agree with me.
It's sucks but every county and state has different taxes so none of the labels would be right :/ It makes sense but its still annoying
I think bc tax is constantly changing they wouldn’t add it bc it’s not constant
It sucks, because like in Europe, the ticket price should be what you are going to pay, tax included
We are kinda used to it. You always need extra bucks for taxes. I always think having extra $2 per every 10 dollars.
It’s actually a good idea. It reminds you about the actual price the store is charging you, and how much you end up paying to the government. Most people forget about the taxes otherwise. Both prices could be included tho
Thanks for sharing Sarah!
Yay, just got in on a sample sale. Thanks hun.
I find the NYC sales tax thing interesting. I live in Rochester, NY (so same state) and sales tax here is 8% but is charged on everything non food. That makes New York City's sales tax exemption on items less than $110.00 seem like a good deal.
TFS Sarah I plan on visiting NYC in the future.
I still have a bunch of Loop NYC bags I got at Century 21 some 15 years ago. Love those damn things and love this damn store!
Thanks for sharing useful tips with us.
My pleasure!
I live in NY and I always try to save as much as I can. The stores I always visit are: Burlington and Macys. I always always always go to their clearance section and is incredible the items I've gotten for $13 or less. Good brands like GUESS, Buffalo, etc. I always take my time, I don't rush. I also go to GAP and OLD NAVY and get items for less than $5 bucks. As I said, I always buy whatever is on clearance.
Good tips!
The only shop I try to get to when I've been to NYC is B&H ! Whether or not I'll ever manage to get to NYC again (from the UK) in my lifetime is another matter. Stay safe everyone
Loved the video Sarah! Where would you recommend going to get the best deals for souvenirs?
Yes queen!! Letting everyone in on awesome secrets
Great job , I also wished u made this deeper and broader by showing for electronic appliances , grocery
Thank you, Sarah, for this video! It’s exactly what I’ve been wishing for.
My pleasure! I hope you have fun shopping!
Thanks very much dear for making us feel safe and secure about the expenditure threats of Nyc , inform us on how to find an apartment in My NYC
That is coming next!
Ahh i love this video
Great video. Thank you
Great video, Sarah! I’m putting some of the shops on my bucket list. Shopping in Manhattan is expensive. I personally rather shop for clothes on Fordham road in the Bronx. Theres a pretty decent Gap outlet, Old Navy, Modell’s and others but much cheaper than Manhattan. Also they have $1 Dominican ice cream. Or I go to Jersey Gardens in Elizabeth, NJ. Overall much lower prices and also lower sales tax.
H&M is Swedish 😊 hence European.
I hope NYC maintains historic shops for many years to come.
♥️Excellent video... Many thanks ❤️
Awesome video! I would suggest Five and Below on 5th Ave. Everything is $5 and below. They even have NYC apparel. And, I would suggest Canal St.
6:19 that girl heard u and was like “imma check it out!!” lol
hahah omg you're right! She turned around and went in the store!
i just came from nyc and im crying while watching this video
Great content!
Thanks so much!
Sara vous êtes très agréable à écouter, votre voix est relaxante et en plus je comprends tout ce que vous dites, car mon anglais est très basique ❤❤
I love De Janeiro in NYC too it's super affordable women's clothing!
Hope you showed more the items in each store so we could get to see them.
I think thrift shopping in NYC would be awesome.
Never heard of you before until today 2019-07-15. But now when i had watch'd several of your videos for the last 2 hours, i suddenly feel that urgent feeling to go to NYC! (Excuse my bad english grammar. Im Swedish) Great channel! ;)
Thank you! I hope you subscribed (if you haven't already)! 😊
Come over to NJ as sales tax is 6.625%, and there is no sales tax on clothing.
Wow, jealous!
That’s what we did as kids, our parents drove us from Queens into Jersey so we didn’t have to pay tax. Don’t know if it’s worth it now with the cost to take the bridge and tunnels now.
the person passing by at 6:16 who went back and went inside helped Sarah make her point 😹
I remember hoovering up the bargains in Century 21 in 2004. Just by ground zero. Grabbed some amazing deals.
Yes they have great deals!
I probably bumped into you there once or twice. Ugh bought so much stuff but it was all so awesome.
Hi Sarah! Can you recommend another designer outlet store now that century 21 is closed? Thanks a bunch!
Can you do a review on some of the best art galleries to shop at?
I'm so glad Century 21 survived 9/11. I haven't been there since before then and must come back to NY to visit!
very useful!! 👏👏👏👏
if i could go to new yourk, i would enjoy the city with your help. thanks
As someone who's interned around Garment District, companies can run sample sales of 50-70% of retail price. I once ran a sale where I sold men's shirts from $7-$10. :D
Wow that is amazing! As someone who works in this industry, do you think that ChicMi is the best site to hear about Sample Sales?
@@SarahFunky I've never heard about ChicMi until this video but I think I'll give it a try :D
Awesome!!
lol I'm at NYC and I got an internship at SoHo right beside TopShop
Thank you for sharing :). But where are these stores located?
I LOVE NY AND I LUV UR CHANNEL
Thank you so much!
A note on taxes. All clothing used to be fully taxed in New York. In the 1990's, the people in charge realized that everyone from Manhattan, Staten island, and the Bronx went to New Jersey to buy clothes, because there was no sales tax. Eventually the tax was repealed. However, as new "leaders" are elected, they are always looking for ways to take our money, and the tax laws changed numerous times. Anyway, clothing in the city is tax free, just like she said. There are no state taxes on clothing, and there are also no city taxes on clothing. If you leave the city, expect to pay local taxes on clothing. If you go to the Tanger outlets in Deer Park or Riverhead, you will pay 4% in Suffolk County taxes on all of your clothes. I live on Long Island, and I recommend going to New Jersey for outlet shopping. NJ Transit also has buses to take you there, unlike the outlets on Long Island. There are definitely buses to Jersey Gardens, but there may also be direct buses to the outlet centers in Jackson and the Jersey Shore.
Hey Sarah ! This e are cool shades you are wearing at 2:11 do you wanna tell me where did you get that from ?
From UK going new York near Christmas could you possibly do a vid showing best places for food without being robbed off thanks
Hi, great video.. very useful...
I bought with nice prices at Nordstrom rack at 6th av with 31st , nice brands at strong discount, something like century21 but bit little than it ...
I really love century 21
Topshop is the European version of H&M? H&M is European from Sweden. But a very informative video. Thanks
Any great places in NYC to shop for men’s big and tall with great savings?

Top Shop British brand
Both are EU brands lol
Hi you forgot to mention Burlington, Marshall, Tj maxx or Woodbury? Also I think there's also a zara shop in Soho
I was thinking of those exact same places, much cheaper than the ones she mentioned
Hiii..are all these stores u mentioned in one area and if so where?

Great tips. U r always beatiful
Really helpful, ive added these to my list!
I won’t like to get a Balmain blazer at a discount price. Any recommendations?
I love century 21 the one in Brooklyn is my fav

Really? The one in BK.. That’s the only one, I haven’t been to. I thought it was a small and limited C21
@@jessicalopez9206 well the one in brooklyn actually has a good amount of stuff its pretty big
They opened another Century 21 in the Fulton Mall area of Brooklyn.
great video :)
Hi now that Century 21 is close there is any other place to buy designer brand discounted?
I hate shopping in NYC 😂😂 but I loooove your tips
urban jungle in Brooklyn. Best thrift store evaaa
We watched your video before we are going to NY. It is very helpful. Too bad that I saw this video during I am at the airport.
Well I'm glad that you were able to get some tips from my videos :) Thank you!
Sarah Funk Yes, we quite get a lot of tips. We love the taco no.1 so, yummy. We might passed you during you do this video. We were stayed at Millenium Hilton. It is very convenient. Would love to see the video about best area to stay in the short time such medium price if we can afford. Thank you.
I apologise in advance if you already did this, but you should make a video about grocery shopping in New York and explaining the tipping culture to tourists. Those who travelled to USA always described to me the culture shock they experienced when introduced to mandatory tipping (as opposed to adding a little extra if you are satisfied, but no pressure if you don't). To us Europeans, it is a concept that is difficult to understand and follow.
A lot of clothes shops in NY are from here (Europe), so when I go to visit my daughter I never buy clothe there it is toooo expensive
