As much as I've tried, I cannot find any info relating to the az1 machine learning model not being turned on yet. Seems bizarre for Amazon to rave about the processor and not turn it on before launching the speaker? Are there any articles you could recommend on this please? Thanks 👍
They should have a clock on ALL of them. I had always thought "why is there not a clock on these" it just seamed like a natural thing to have on them. And Now we do 👍 Yaaaaaaa 😊

I like a clock on my bedside table to check the time if I wake up in the middle of the night. If I have to ask for the time, I might as well forget trying to get back to sleep because my wife will be highly pissed.
I am excited to purchase the 4th generation with the clock! I want the time on my Alexa so I won't have to ask, I want to already see it when I need to know the time. I am happy that it also displays the weather and timer. I really need this version with the time display upgrade. Thank you for the comparison!
I like it with the clock. Got $10 off. I like that it shows the timer as it counts down. It will also show the temperature. I realized one night that you can turn off the clock at night. I Love it!!!!! I did not purchase it for sound. I have Bluetooth Bose speakers in the room connected to my TV. They say the new Echo is suppose to respond faster. I have not noticed that it does. I would have purchased the larger one if it had the clock.
This was perfect for our bedroom. I like to have the time illuminated as I wake often. Couldn't ask Alexa what time it was as I would wake my husband. I still like the 3rd generation in my kitchen with the plug in stand.
I wasn't going to buy any smart speaker WITHOUT a display...whether it was a clock, temperature, timer, etc. Now t I have my first smart speaker and it was worth the wait. It just didn't make sense to have one without it being practical. My question is what took them so damn long?

My Echo Dot with clock is on the way. But I just received the full size Echo a and in the short time I’ve had it I do find the response time is faster, so much that it surprised me.
I can't tell you how many times that I've been laying in bed in the morning with my eyes closed and asked alexa what time it is. But it's nice now that there is a clock. I ordered mine during the black Friday sale, but it won't be arriving until next year. I'll be moving the current bedroom echo dot to another room in the house.
I've ordered the blue Dot w/clock. They updated my shipping date to 11/27. If yours is one you have to send back, you probably have mine! So, you can just shoot it to me and cut out the middle man, haha!

You are right glancing at a clock is quicker (only if you have good eyesight from a distance). Otherwise voice works. Paul was a bit hard. I saw his video already, but people did inform him that the feature had not been turned on yet and it will come to the US first. He is after all in the UK. But I agree with him. They (Amazon) should not advertise the feature unless it is ready to be launched.

I’ve noticed they have mentioned it before for some features, but they don’t do it consistently. Therefore that is how there ends up being confusion as to the availability of certain features.

I got the Spot w/clock to use as an alarm clock can't wait till it arrives.. Currently uses a Dot and and my phone for the same function. Dot w/clock is on sale but note the Dot w/clock is out of stock until mid December. It came bundled with a smart light bulb which is perfect for my bedside lamp.

How does it sound vs the bigger size 4th gen Echo dot? They haven’t released a bigger sized 5th gen yet. The bigger 4th gen and the small 5th gen is the same price right now. Contemplating which one to get.
No because if you put a clock in the regular echo it will be blocking the two tweeters, they can do it on the echo dot because there's no tweeters on the front and only one speaker so that way the watch is not ruining the music
Hi Craig- Wonder how different the Echo Spot is sound quality-wise to the new Dot? I got a Spot a couple of years ago to use as my bedroom alarm clock- while still being able to use it as a phone. I don’t ever use the video feature on it- as it’s tiny and pretty useless. Doesn’t look like the Spot ever sold well. I couldn't connect mine to the Internet. 30 minutes on phone to Amazon Support got me nowhere. I returned it, no problem, but the replacement did the same. Bought a new router, same problem. It doesn't seem to like my ISP, but my 3rd gen dot works fine, as does my 2nd gen Echo Plus.

I just picked up a glacier white today to replace my clock and also add a speaker to my night stand, so I don't have to blare my main Echo in the bedroom just for audio books, etc. I like the bigger echos for serious listening while having one by the bed is nice for bedtime where it can be quieter since it's closer. Anyway, I was curious if the twilight blue dot has a blue clock, or if it's the same color white as the glacier white model. Anyway I have all three new colors now. Two full sized echo 4, twilight blue, and charcoal, and the glacier white dot, it just got. I watched this video before buying this, and it encouraged me to go ahead with my plans. Thanks again.

Where I have the dot with clock I was mainly curious if the darker blue over the grey would make it stand out more. However, having been through one day with different amounts of lighting, the white will do fine where it is.
Better value to get the 3rd gen with clock and plug it into your sound system, you showed the speaker cross section of the regular echo 4th gen with the 2 tweeters and sub... the echo dot 4th gen only has a 1.6'' woofer and no tweeters.
It is annoying when people cut out Alexa but then leave in other wake words like Echo and Amazon. I have mine set to Echo. My father has his set to Computer.
Question: On the Echo Dot (4th Generation Clock) there is an LED Clock on the face of the “ball shaped dot”….. my question….. what do the two LED dots indicate that can light up on the face of the Echo Dot to the right of the displayed time? (Obviously not the colon in the time display, but to the right of the time display). I believe the bottom dot that looks like a period after the time is indicating an alarm is set, but I am looking to know what the dot above it indicates. Does anybody know?

Regular echo have a version with clock coming?

Because of the limitations of these devices I don’t think that would work. Not enough to reliably suggest buying one if that was your intended use

I would like to be able to change the color of the clock, Red, Green, Blue, etc.
