Well, the Xbox can't do sound when it's plugged into a monitor, if you want undo then you have to have speakers (they came with my monitor) if you have speakers watch the video on how to install them (this video)
Can you do an updated video to show if you can get 120hz option to work using an HDMI to DVI cable? Most monitors (Not being the latest and pricey) only support HDMI 1.4 not 2.0 and not being able to go past 60hz. The update back in May gave the option for 120hz but I'm trying to find out if using an adapter or this type of cable will work. I can find monitors that can achieve 144hz or 120hz but only through display port or dvi because the HDMI ports are 1.4 I've been everywhere trying to figure this out but can't find an answer. Also Xbox with 120hz (Why not just get a pc) I just want to get smoother gameplay if at all possible. I understand free sync is supported with the One X as well.

Your monitor sadly doesn't have a HDCP. HDCP its some sort of protection implemented in monitors so data can't be stolen. Most of the monitors with DVI-D and Full HD resolution have that protection, but it seems like you are the unlucky case without the HDCP. The Xbox one requires that protection,if the monitor/TV doesn't have it, then you will get a black screen,all you can do its to get a HDCP remover or better buy a new monitor.
Best video hands down. I just need to get my hands on the x/pdif / converter. I normally plug my headset into the controller, but would prefer to not wear my headset all the time and have external speakers.

So i made some research,for those who get a black screen after they plugged in the HDMI - DVI-D cable, I got bad news, the Xbox One requires a monitor with HDCP support (HDCP its some sort of protection made by Intel to prevent video data being stolen), if the monitor doesn't have it, you will have black screen. The only way to fix this is to buy a new monitor. Most 1080p monitors with DVI-D connection have HDCP, so before buying an Xbox/PS4 ,check if your has HDCP support (type the name and the model number on google and you will find it in a description). If it does,you are good to go.

I have an xbox one (original) console and the power cable is really close to the hdmi output cable. I got a female dvi to male hdmi adaptor and it doesn't fit along side with the power cable. I connected my xbox one s to a Samsung S22C300 monitor via HDMI but I have no sound. This monitor has no speakers that I am aware of and there is no area to plug in other speakers that I do have. I do have an "RGB IN" port though in the back of the monitor. Would a Digital to Audio converter be something I would need in this case? Thank you
