Nice! Yeah I don't recommend mirror dash cams for places with extreme temperatures (both on the high or low end). The smaller traditional dash cams seem to perform better than mirror dash cams in those conditions, Cheers!
@AlexAutoFun Now you tell me 🤦🏽♂️ 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣. My Rove R3 is perfect! Now to solve the problem of hiding multiple usb c Wires to locations in the car from the cigarette lighter. like phone charging cable to windshield mount and for my Android Auto screen. I ordered a few 12 ft 60 watt cables to run behind the dash,
@@quedog10pop Awesome, congrats on your new setup! Not sure if you used the CPL filter, but I highly recommend it, here is the video on how it works ruclips.net/video/YvPoihHnSLQ/видео.html Cheers!
@AlexAutoFun I'll have to check it out. Hoping they will make the power device a superconductor that holds a charge. I thought about the hard-wire kit, but they aren't easy to install on my Chrysler 300.
Hi AutoFun, Thank you for the informative video. What if I leave my car for longer than 12 hours, lets say at the airport for a week. How would I adjust the parking settings then? How about the parking mode screen saver? If I adjust the screen saver mode to always on, will it leave the screen on during parking mode? Many thanks!
Hi Z! As explained on the video Parking Mode Time out could allow you to limit the amount of Park Monitoring to reduce battery drain or can be turned off if battery drain is not a concern. Cheers!
Friend, I have that rove r3 camera and recently I discovered that in this season in summer when my car remains parked under the sun for a long time this camera turns off, I want to know why that happens
Hi Ariel! Assuming the dash is hardwire correctly (and using the Rove hardwire kit), when the car is off, the dash cam will turn off and enter park mode (if enabled in the settings). If your dash cam is timing out, you may have park mode time out enabled, or if you believe the dash cam is overheating, your installer can check the temperature of where the dash cam is installed (the R3 is rated at up to 158°F). If your installer is unable to find the issue, I would also recommend contacting Rove for tech support and please keep us posted on your findings. Cheers!
I am experiencing the same or similar issue. I have mine configured with the Hardwire kit to allow for normal recording at all times even when the vehicle is off. After about 1.5-2 days, I get a "memory card is slow" error window and the camera stopped recording until the window is cleared. I have tried several 512GB SD Cards, including Rove's and the issue persists. After several months of back and forth with support, Rove even sent me a new unit and the same things happens. I suspect that for the camera, while it can support up to 512GB cards, smaller cards are more ideal. It's either that or the unit gets too warm/hot in the car. Either way, I have resigned to formatting the card every two days because that ultimately resolves the issue longer than ignoring it and it guarantees that I will have overnight recordings waiting for me in the morning. To clarify, my camera does not turn off, it only stops recording while waiting for that screen to be acknowledged, but it will then happen again anywhere for 2 to 60 minutes if I don't format the card again. (Formatting the card is the first thing Rove always tells me to do). Does any of this sound familiar to you at all with your experience?)
@@todd614oh Hi P! Oh wow yeah that sounds like a different issue than Ariel's (where here dash cam turns off) What is interesting in your case is that you are using Rove's card and also a second camera they sent you have the same issue. Did Rove say anything about the root cause? It maybe heat related but that is just a guess considering the strange heat wave we are under right now. Your installer should be able to test your dash cam as well as measure the temperatures is being subjected to confirm if that issue. And please keep us posted in your findings, Cheers!
Hi P! Wifi enabled dash cams do not let you see a live view or access the videos while your away from the car. What you are looking for is a Cloud connected dash cam like this one ruclips.net/video/EBLvq2X2SwQ/видео.html or this one ruclips.net/video/BAEH4f2ulEs/видео.html (live video, tracking, notifications to your phone etc.) Cheers!

I have this one! I tried the pormido rearview mirror dash cam, but the Florida heat is too much for it. This one I've had for almost 1.5 years.

Is this 4k? Purchased on Amazon and doesn’t seem like it’s the latest model. Please advise. Thank you
Hi C! The R3 does not support 4K, here my full review so you can see the rest of it's features and link the dash cam in the video description, Cheers!
