It is absolutely awesome. I'm in the UK and went to see the Eras tour movie at the cinema, as the tour hasn't come here yet (I have tickets though). When this section came up I was blown away, and was totally not expecting it. I was like, "this wasn't on Folklore was it?" Then I remebered It's "illicit affairs" and just turning a subdued melancholy song into a rock power ballad totally made it awesome. Looping the chorus and altering the melody slighty. The guitar tone here is awesome (Paul Sidoti is her guitarist and he's really good), and Taylor sounds fantastic over dirty guitars. It's moments like this that make me wish she would put out a rock album.. it could be seriously special..and I think this live excerpt proves that.
@@Patspwnagehmmm... maybe a rock one for a start like the song we never getting back together that kinda vibe... but ya Will always respect and appreciate the works she does ya . she is really an amazing artist
This is the one part of the show where I was just in dead silence. I didn't see it coming. My jaw was on the floor and it just gave me chills unlike anything I've experienced at any other concert I've been to.
Gotta wonder why Taylor only does hard rock renditions of her recent songs live, and not on her albums. This absolutely rules, and I was blown away when I saw it at the cinema. I was like.. "this was on Folkore??? I don't remember anything this powerful." Then I realised it was the chorus from illicit affairs. Should have recorded it this way on the album!
I like the original, but this has been living rent free in my head for like 4 months, so I wish that she would do what she did with Cruel Summer and release a live version or make it a bonus track on the end of Folklore
The personas she adopts for each of her albums is amazing. She is a modern day David Bowie (not as brilliant, as no one can compete with Bowie) however she is super talented and so creative, the way she interpretates her songs so brilliantly
And you wanna scream Don't call me "kid" Don't call me "baby" Look at this godforsaken mess that you made me You showed me colors You know I can't see with anyone else Don't call me "kid" Don't call me "baby" Look at this idiotic fool that you made me You taught me a secret language I can't speak with anyone else Don't call me "kid" Don't call me "baby" Look at this godforsaken mess that you made me You showed me colors You know I can't see with anyone else Don't call me "kid" Don't call me "baby" Look at this idiotic fool that you made me You taught me a secret language I can't speak with anyone else

That perfect transition of orange backdrop from august then the stormy blue of illicit affairs just hits differently.

its the bridge not the chorus
@@user-fc1go8sm6yYes, sorry, it's the bridge. In the key of F major, and the chords are F, Dm, Bb and C, a I,VI, IV, V progression.
