Bro!! You're the cool cat who got me to purchase my Lectric XP last year. NOW ya got me wanting THIS one!! Maaaaannn... I don't even drive a car anymore 👊 🇺🇸
You may have convinced me with this one. Was looking at the heybike explore and this looks like it may have an edge - even has the charger. Will definitely use that 100 bucks off. Well earned for you - that's a nice thorough review.
Rec'd my 2 bikes. The white step through for my wife and the midnight blue for myself. My first order over Black Friday was damaged by UPS (both boxes!) Magi sent out another 2 bikes 1 1/2 weeks later - all good. These bikes seem well made and customer service has been TOP NOTCH. I'm finding out now that Magi has been doing upgrades. NOT like autos that change from yr to yr - these seem to be frequent. The white step through now has a foam type velcro "chain protector" on lower frame. There is now a inside chain plate at pedal sprocket along with outer plate redesigned. The controller now has military time in upper right corner (not a huge deal). the chain guards would have been nice. None of these were on my other bike. My suggestion when buying these Ebikes is to ask Magicycle CS if you will be receiving OLD or NEW stock? There ARE differences!
I purchased the midnight blue and white step through last Nov 22 - 2021. Magi is a GREAT bike with all the nice features, Customer service is awesome! My only gripe is the on going upgrades. My bike was the older version while my wife's white step through was upgraded. (clock feature on the controller, different pedal sprocket (now has a inner chain keeper plate), rear rack redesigned for easier removal, wrap around "chain guard" on lower frame. Both bikes ordered at the same time - just rec'd old & new stock. Wish I was given an option. Now Magi is selling the add on skid plate for the under frame mounted controller. A bit over priced for a piece of plastic in my opinion. i just sent C.S. a pic of my BASH Guard prototype and suggested they look into adding that on the rear derailer. Helps protect the derailer from damage to the bike falling on the right side. (happened to mine!) Rad Rover has this on their Ebikes. One last bit of info - My wife is 5'-4 and has been struggling mounting & dismounting her white step through. These bikes are heavy and there was not enough clearance from top rail (forget mounting a water bottle as located on top rail) to seat for her to safely take a full stance to mange the bike. That bike is now being sold on our local Craigslist . (looking at the RadRover 6 Plus)
Thank you for your review i just ordered one and saved some cash really wanted the ariel rider grizzly but i think this is sufficient for what i need plus i like the 26 inch tires
Great job 👍 thank for the honesty a little loud and break issues can you maybe do a follow up on maybe the fixing of breaks ànother vid mentioned the pads also I'm looking to get one for bow hunting sound matters alot Always just thought 🤔 Nobby's on pavement was noise thank you for pointing out motor noise awsome job
Great review! Really put it through its paces. I ordered the midnight blue and am really looking forward to it. Also going to get some of those accessories you linked to.
Hello, very nice review. I was ready to order one until I checked the new prices. As of today (6-21-22) it is $2089, free shipping. Unfortunately, that just pushed me out of my price range. Still a very nice review.
Thank you. I just checked and you can get it for $1489 if you use my coupon. You were probably looking at the upgraded version with hydraulic brakes and 20 amp hour battery.
That computer, screen, and programming is the best I've ever seen. Kudos to Magicycle. Now that's the way it should be done. The top frame bar and battery area suck. The battery could have been integrated into the bottom frame bar which make it perfect imo. Other than that, its a winner.
Great review. Can you compare vs ride1up 700 step-thru? I'm looking especially for commuting and utility. The ride1up appears to have better brakes, lower step-thru, road tires, integrated battery. The magicycle is lower cost, bigger battery, higher voltage.
Nice job. Good check on the rear rack. Too bad there isn’t a little more room on the tubes. Love the 3 amp charger, the performance and the dual pad brakes. I’m going to change them out to hydraulic disc brakes for $150. We’ll worth it for such a powerful heavy bike. Would have liked to see the halo on the front light work, but it still a heck of a deal in that $1200-2000 price range. They’re going to run out of stock. Such a great performer and all the little goodies that they send to you with the bike. Hard to beat. Great job.
Yes, please do a head-to-head with the Lectric XP2.0. I am particularly interested in hill climbing, distance, and top speed. It would be nice to see the comparison with both bikes fitted with an 11-28 freewheel because of the huge difference that freewheel makes. Thanks again for all your videos.
Awesome review! That’s a long tough day of riding and filming. Great detail and thanks for doing the range test. By the way, not sure if you saw my latest video, I posted a ‘quick fix’ for the brake adjustment that is making mine work great now. I tried doing ‘Normal’ adjustments and it just wouldn’t work. I LOVE the Magicycle!
Thanks Chris! It indeed was a very long day and and I had to improvise on the dirt road shot because I didn’t have my mini tripod lol. I seen your video and still need to make adjustments to mine so maybe I’ll give your method a shot.
Sorry to comment here but don’t know where to message you. Why don’t you do a review on the Rad mini 4 and mini Step thru? I would really like to see you do a review on them
Thank you. It wasn’t as detailed as some of my other videos but a lot more real life testing. I could have broken into 2 videos but wanted to get the information out there before the price increase. I’m probably going to be doing a lot more livestreams when the snow starts flying.
What are the significant differences if any between the Snapcycle you reviewed and the Magicycle? They are a similar price point so your input is appreciated.
The display and changing settings on the magicycle is easier and Magicycle has a 52v system. Snapcycle has Samsung battery cells and their step through version is more of a step-thru.
Thanks for this great review. A few other reviews are saying the same thing you did about NOISY brakes or brake rubbing? Does this seem to be a common problem with this company? Not hearing about that issue with "other" brands.
You’re welcome. I hear they plan on updating the brakes in the future but I’m not sure exactly when. Mine haven’t been really too bad once I got them adjusted correctly but I might upgrade to a set of hydraulic calipers in the future for around $40 or try a different type of material on the brake pads.
Just rec'd both bikes. (after a crappy issue with UPS) Noticed the white step through had a velcro attached black foam type cover around the lower right rear frame (around cables) with the magi logo while the other midnight blue bike did not? This was NOT the packing they use. Seemed odd about that as well as not seeing this on your bike? I guess just depends on who wants to put them on that day at the factory.
My Himiway has been broken for the last 6 weeks and I got it almost a year ago. The thing that sucks about these are there are no true local repair shops for these bikes and you're dealing with a man in China and trying to diagnose problems through videos and emails. Better be handy. Be ready for flats too!
You are correct that is one negative for getting one of the many different brands of these e-bikes at such a discount. Magicycle is trying to hit the market fast so only time will tell how good their customer service is but so far so good from what I hear on the Facebook forums.
You could pay upwards to double the price at a local bike store though for bikes that are comparable to these although as you said then you would have a little more support.
What is the best value e bike? I usually buy used but this Magicycle seem like a really good value. What e bike would out of all the e bike you are aware of if you were buying today?
It depends on what features and frame design you are looking for in a bike but I would say in this frame design with 26” fat tires it is definitely the best value of the bikes I’ve reviewed.
Had my for a week now still can’t ride it my battery doesn’t have charging port been in contact with them told over and over we get you a tracking number and put in emergency still nothing I need this for work going have pay a fortune to Lyft if I don’t get it soon I keep getting the run around
hi jeremiah, i am taking delivery of my magicycle crusier, white like yours, its not the new pro series, just their standard battery, this week. my question to you is after a year is your bike still working and have you had any problems with it that i can look out for or prevent, on my bike a year down the road. hit me back and thanks for the video, informative with the specs and the real rides on pavement and grass and trails. thanks.
FYI I purchased this ebike using Paypal and there was a 1% foreign transaction charge, I'm in the US and Magicycle is in Hong Kong I think. So expect to pay a little bit more on top of your price.
Please throw in the Lectric XP 2.0 in your head to head test. From all the reviews I've watched, the 500W motor on the Lectric XP 2.0 hold it's own to 750W bikes and in many cases is faster then them so I'd love to see a head to head matchup. Great video, thanks for taking the long ride, now give your wrists a break from holding the GoPro all that time :-)
Where the 500w on Lectric falters is on a hill or incline with a heavier rider for a distance or if you try to throttle only under load for an extended period of time. They overclock the motor to get that higher speed and it gets hot and times out vs something like this 750w that is not peaking to reach top speeds. A motor worked at a lower percent of its peak will last much longer than a motor that is constantly being peaked like the Lectric XP. It is conceivable that the the business model of Lectric is to have repeat business every few years to buy a new bike since a new motor and battery plus labor would approach the value of the bike after a couple of years. It is similar to a 4 cylinder pickup truck being quick around town but going up a hill the diesel truck will just idle up the hill easily and the 4 cylinder has to peg rpms or take the slow lane.
I can agree with this to a point but I disagree that their business model is to replace the bike every few years and why would you have to replace the battery sooner than any other Brand? I do recommend helping pedal up hills on any Ebike to limit burnout of the motor or controller but any electric motor being sent power and not rotating fast enough going up hills to cool down can burn something out. Yes a nominal 750w motor is definitely better but typically cost more upfront. The low cost option is great for most people including myself but you just have to know the limitations of any bike and that’s what I love to show in my testing videos. Time will tell about long term durability but so far so good for most. I would love to test out some of the Amp Rides bikes and put them head to head with the Lectric and Magicycle!
@@JeremiahMcintosh David Brand New did some head to head tests with one of ours but it is not really a fair segment to compete entry level bikes against bikes with 2x the power, double or triple the battery capacity etc, higher price point. Completely different target market. He did have issues with lectric tapping out going up steep hills near his house and barely making it to the top while pedaling whereas a well equipped motor that is not peaking you can just throttle only up those things in the 20s without heating up the motor etc. I think I have seen some magicycle vs lectric comparisons with the magicycle throttling higher and pulling hills better which is natural since the motor is not peaked like the lectric xp trying to do the bigger and demanding stuff. it kinda seemed that the lectric xp with a lighter rider in your video comparison showed that the magicycle pulled that short hill better. If you don't really want to pedal up those hills and pull long grades like lake havasu and whatnot then you can jump up to a 1500w and just throttle it. I typically set up the bikes to run below their peaks so like the 1500w peaks 1700w we put a 25amp controller with a 48v21 or 25 or a 52v28ah and all of those basic calculations are pulling less than 1500w so not peaking the motor and staying under 1500w. Still pull hills in 20s in the northwest, san fran, lake havasu type hills. I was just commenting on the magicycle vs lectric motors fundamentally and the volts being used on 52v vs 48v. Our next several shipments are sold out for review bikes (only customs left) and we have the expo in a few weeks but maybe next summer we might put a bike out for review circuit and could run it through the midwest for on its travels if you want. Try to have normal specs reviewed vs elite or top end components so we dont overstate performance on review videos. Still don't have your contact info to get you on the review bike schedule. You can email sales@ampridesusa.com so we are connected.
Their website says that the *MAXIMUM* weight limit with rider, cargo, AND the bike itself is 275 Lbs. Can't find any info on their site as to what the bike weighs. Just lost a sale.
Snapcycles brakes seem to stop better and it uses Samsung battery cells which is excellent. Other than that they seem very comparable with the Magicycle having slightly more power and a better display. I also like the handlebars on the Magicycle better. I will have a power comparison video up soon.
If you don’t need a folding ebike this is a great option for an upgrade to the Lectric at the price point with my coupon in my opinion. It has more power, A nicer more adjustable display and more range.
Lol trust me I have a ton of time in making these videos so I don’t feel like they are free. Just stay honest and Keep good integrity and good things seem to follow. I’m just honored to have the chance to test all these and provide accurate information about them to everyone.
The only 750w folding bike I have is the ENGWE but it feels under powered. I should be getting the snapcycle S1 soon and it’s supposed to have a lot of power and 750w.
Open up to description with the little arrow next to the video title and there will be a link there to take you directly to their official website. Please let me know if you need more help.
I haven’t noticed a walk mode but haven’t really looked either you could always turn the throttle slightly as needed. Handling was great on the bike very nice riding position for me and felt very comfortable the only thing I feel could be better were the brakes which may just be needing more adjustment. I’ll know more after I mess around with them some more.
@@JeremiahMcintosh Thank you for the great reviews on this bike and the XP 2.0 as well as others. I'm about to purchase this one (before Oct 1) as I have been researching for so long now.
@@JeremiahMcintosh I certainly will apply the coupon, thank you. Questions for you: 1) Would a 5'2 person (my wife) able to sit on the seat at the lowest position and have at least half of the bottom of her feet touch the ground (so not tip-toeing)? 2) From your riding experience, would the 4" fat tires be less nimble in handling of corners vs thinner tires?
Great videos - I just subscribed to your channel. After watching your various reviews of this and other bikes, it appears this is the best option in this price point? Would you agree? Also, I'll be buying 2 bikes but your code only provides me a $100 discount. Any ideas how I could get the $100 discount on both bikes if I end up going this route? Thx for your time!!!
Thank You! Hmm not sure on the coupon. Maybe make 2 separate purchases and use the code twice? Yes I do feel you get a lot of bang for the buck at the current sale price and would probably be hard to beat. They have been saying the price is supposed to increase in October but I guess we will see.
I like both the bar end mirrors and also the ones that mount directly on the handlebars but sometimes they don’t stick out as far and you see part of your shoulder sometimes you can mount the right mirror upside down on the left-hand side to put it below the bars and you can see a little better I show that in one of my videos.
I'm noticing on my bikes that the end cap is not a typical plug. About a 1" dia with a 3/8 pin. The leather wraps around the end. Doesn't look like standard end mirrors will fit.

So what is the lowest possible seat hight. Specs say 34" but it looks like it will go lower. Asking for my wife that's 5'2"
Why didn't you mention taxes and shipping up front
Most of them offer free shipping to the lower 48 and taxes vary depending on where you live.
Their website says that the *MAXIMUM* weight limit with rider, cargo, AND the bike itself is 275 Lbs. Can't find any info on their site as to what the bike weighs. Just lost a sale.
It does say on their website. Payload is 275 and Weigh is 75lbs.
It’s under specifications.
@@JeremiahMcintosh Thanks, I looked and didn't see anything about that 75 lb. I'll look again.
in your honest opinion which do you like more?
magicycle or himiway cruiser?
I haven’t tested the Himiway cruiser but I like the display and the 52v system better on the Magicycle.
@@JeremiahMcintosh i am also looking at the ariel rider Kepler looks amazing. 52 volt 20amp battery plus can go 35 mph even on throttle
Yeah it looks like a nice bike as well with a bigger capacity battery.
Where are you at? Your area really looks like my home area.
excellent review thanks man
Great review 👍 thanks!
How do you compare this to snapcycle bike?? Which one do you think is better??
Snapcycles brakes seem to stop better and it uses Samsung battery cells which is excellent. Other than that they seem very comparable with the Magicycle having slightly more power and a better display. I also like the handlebars on the Magicycle better.
I will have a power comparison video up soon.
Cool
What app are you using on your phone for to monitor your speed?
It’s just called speedometer.
How is it to pedal ith no assist, is it easy? Would you replace your XP Lectric bike for this?
If you don’t need a folding ebike this is a great option for an upgrade to the Lectric at the price point with my coupon in my opinion. It has more power, A nicer more adjustable display and more range.
Is this fellow the real deal? He gets all these freebies!!!!
Lol trust me I have a ton of time in making these videos so I don’t feel like they are free. Just stay honest and Keep good integrity and good things seem to follow.
I’m just honored to have the chance to test all these and provide accurate information about them to everyone.
Does the coupon code still work? I'm not sure when you filmed it
Yes the coupon is still good for $100 off with the link in the description.
hi can i remove the rear rack on the white magicycle cruiser step-thru
Yes it can be removed.
What is the best foldable 750 watt in your opinion. I have been shopping for weeks and can’t seem to pull the trigger
The only 750w folding bike I have is the ENGWE but it feels under powered. I should be getting the snapcycle S1 soon and it’s supposed to have a lot of power and 750w.
What battery brands are used for the battery pack?
I believe it says Turnlife on the battery but not sure exactly what brand of cells.
How to order?
Open up to description with the little arrow next to the video title and there will be a link there to take you directly to their official website. Please let me know if you need more help.
Only the white is the step thru
That’s a scammer don’t reply!
Is the battery removable
Yes it is.
Does it have cruise control?
Hey Don to be honest I’m not sure I didn’t even think to look but I don’t think it does. I’ll have to check.
being a heavy bike (75lbs), is there a walk mode? How was general handling of the bike?
I haven’t noticed a walk mode but haven’t really looked either you could always turn the throttle slightly as needed. Handling was great on the bike very nice riding position for me and felt very comfortable the only thing I feel could be better were the brakes which may just be needing more adjustment. I’ll know more after I mess around with them some more.
@@JeremiahMcintosh Thank you for the great reviews on this bike and the XP 2.0 as well as others. I'm about to purchase this one (before Oct 1) as I have been researching for so long now.
Thanks Jeffrey. I’m glad you are finding them helpful in deciding what bikes are right for you. Don’t forget to take advantage of my coupon code!
Does it have a dual suspension?
Only front suspension but you can lower the tire pressure slightly in the rear and use a suspension seatpost.
This looks so similar to the Himiway ebike.
How does the coupon code work????
Just use my link to their website add the item to your cart and before you check out there’s a spot to type in the coupon code.
@@JeremiahMcintosh thank you for your prompt response. I'm interested in the Blue bike option so I could get it sooner.
Please put the price in the description! How much is it??!
Currently with the coupon it is $1,299.
Man, throw a suspension seat on that and there you go
Looks like a Himiway and RadRover killer to me.
Maybe 🤔 I wish I had them to compare it to!
What is your choice on mirrors? Just took our first ride this weekend and NOT comfortable with turning my head and all the idiot drivers!
Doesn't look like standard end mirrors will fit.
)
Meh. Not as good as coswheel t20
🚨 *FYI to anyone who goes on magic cycle website, they’re 1000% tracking you! I just received a call from them just from starting a sale I decided to not complete, never did anything to warrant them to call me*
VERY ALARMING TO SSY LEAST
