I'm happy to see so many accessories! Maybe a little too much if I'm honest, like the included lock. For me, the bike has some design problems, namely the exposed controller and the weird placements of some things like the water bottle mount. I also don't like the brake components and the style with the somewhat tacky writing on the frame. I do like the Kendra (if I remember right) fat tires, customizable assist levels, included accessories (top tube bag, front and rear lights), massive battery, suspension, and the pretty upright riding position. I decided to go with the ride1up 500 series instead because the price is comparable, well thought out design, and the better components, albeit less accessories.
Overall, don't be afraid to call out a bike for not being able to put parts like the controller in a better place! It's the design of the bike, so it shouldn't be forgiven for that :)

    • @martinderuin6422

Cannot agree ride1up 500 has better components. Magicycle has color display, 52v 15ah battery, 3-5 hours fast charger, the weight is 76lbs , rid1up only 55lbs, Magicycle frame is more solid. And the brakes upgraded to Tektro on the coming bikes. If you have both of them in hand you will easily see the difference.

Just finished a 4 mile ride after assembly. The bike is definitely faster than a Rad Rover 5, especially once you mess with the advanced settings. The brakes, while I'm not having as much of a stopping problem as many youtube videos are showing, I'll be upgrading the brakes with Juintech M1 hydraulic brakes. Rider weight at this time is 241 lbs.

Aventure has three bike shops that sell them assembled and offer support. It is more, no doubt but worth it for me. A fully assembled and tuned bike with a year of service from a shop that also lets me try accessories and return if they dont work out.

Great powerful bike. It’s very speedy and does a great job climbing hills. Received mine this week and love power and build quality. However the included brakes suck because they squeak and don’t stop well for a bike this size. Upgraded them with cable actuated hydraulic calipers costing me $50 and now no more squeaks and stops like it should. Only takes about 1/2 hour to do brake change. Used the Zoom hb-100 MTB calipers. There are other more expensive brands available but these seem to do the job. Time will tell on brake pad life, but pads are cheap and easy to replace.Felt unsafe with included brakes.

Now this is a topic that really interests me. I bought a mountain bike style bike with pedal assist at the end of the season last year. I took one fairly long ride, and when I got home, I fell down. It was the first time on a bike in 40 + years. I have since put a new seat on the bike, and would like to get another ride in. But I'm waiting until spring. I try to remember the last dump I took on my 10 speed, but I was 18 back then. I'm 60 now and don't heal as fast as I use to. Now this bike has fatter tires than the 10 speed, but nothing like a fat bike. I have time and need to save up for a fat bike anyway. I will be doing MOST of my riding on the streets. If fat tires are really not needed or would be a detriment over regular mountain bike style tires, that would be good to know.

They have similar looks, but are not the same. For example, the Magicycle comes from an award-winning designer, resulting in a unified frame where the beauty is more than skin deep. Magicycle owns the factory that produces their e-bikes...Hemiway does not. Magicycle has 7 levels of customizable power assist; Hemiway has only 5 levels. Magicycle produces 86 Nm torque; Hemiway does not. I could go on, but you get the idea.

I don't think it is a matter of anyone wising up really. True the cruiser style bikes all look very similar STEP thru or not. I have been looking for a little while and find the best LOOKING E-bike around is the CHEETAH from Revi bikes, but also under other names. It is one of the retro motorcycle type designs. That is strictly a matter of opinion I'm not trying to say it isn't. The price point is higher than a magicycle, or the other cruisers, and LOOKS might not be worth much in the long run. The breaks are a better sales point, to consider. All in all I would love to "WIN" a cruiser style fat bike in a give a way. If I "BUY" a fat bike, I think I will hold out for the Cheetah style. They are pretty, and I want one.
