10I have been going back and forth between the Snapcycle r1/s1 and the Magicycle Cruiser. I test drove two e-bikes locally, a Biria folding bike with a cadence sensor and a Trek cruiser with a torque sensor. My wife and I found the Biria to have almost too much power when the assist kicked in. Even in PAS 1. Is this common on all bikes? We would both still like to use the bicycles to get some exercise and have the pedal assist there for when we need it. The torque sensor was a much more linear feeling. I see the Magicycle has a way to set the power of each PAS leaves where the Snapcycle does not. I d appreciate any input as we are completely new to e-bikes. Thanks again!
First thank you for your thorough videos, you are awesome! I'm so torn though. I will definitely be purchasing an Ebike. I want something strong on hills and fast on flats but I'm only 5'6" and worry about having to stand on my tip toes. My top 3 picks are Magicycle, Ariel X48 (rather have x52 but the price is high), or that EMX (I think that's what it's called out of Canada). Do you have any suggestions given what I'm looking for and for my size?
G'day Mr Irish ,I own a very similar spec fat bike and I'm 5'5" and 62 years old ,when pedaling I have full leg extension on my pedals ,When stopping at red lights I use the kerb (gutter) to stand on while seated and if no curb I just stand on one pedal and step down to the ground off the seat ,very easy very safe .I was hesitant too about the size as I'm not very heavy but now I've passed 4000 km (2500 ml)accident free and still going hard. My bike specs ~13amp 48 volt still charges to 55.4volts after 2 years It has an 11~34 cogs on the back and 28~38~48 sprocket on the front which gives me 52+kph about 31mph.it has 203 mm discs and as much carbon fibre parts as I could find online plus extra lights ,alarm and assorted crap. I've not changed my tyres yet (kenda) 80%wear rear and the front still looks new but I have snapped 2 front brake cables . This is the best review to give a hi level comparison of performance. One of my main concerns with most of these bikes isn't just that they're made in China, but that they really don't have a US support base once you own it 15 months down the road and a motor, battery or controller dies and if the support it they want you to send it to China. Thanks for sharing and putting in the time for the rest of us newbs.
You are 100% correct, thats why it is important to buy a bike that uses standard components like the Himiway and Magicycle. That way even if you can't get support you can find replacement parts. BTW unless you with a uber expensive EU bike your choices are limited to Chinese brands.
Hey Bryan, Thanks, another great review. I purchased a Magicycle and I'm waiting for it to come in right now. I already know, from all of the reviews I've read, that I will want to upgrade the brakes and probably to hydraulic. Have you done any hydraulic brake upgrades on any of your ebikes? I am 6’6” and weigh 230, inseam measures 35”. I am interested in Magicycle as it looks to be able to handle my size and handle bars are up higher than most bikes, I would like to ride in as much an upright position as possible. Does the seat go high enough for my size? Are cables slack enough in front to add a handlebar extension? Did you change brake pads and did it improve braking? Do you think it would be a good first bike for me? Thanks for your time!

I have one on order and have a himiway at home. I don't mind the himiway branding but not a fan of the majicycle on the battery. Glad to hear it comes off.
When you cycle thru the PAS levels via the up button... do the levels stop at the max PAS level automatically or will it return to 0 and keep going up over and over?
Some observations from a Himiway owner. If he hasn't programmed the controller on the Himiway to 25 amps from stock 20 amps he is missing a bunch of power. The Aventon has terrible customer service as witnessed by complaints on a number of forums, The Magicycle is from a brand new company that claims having a history of building ebikes buy aI have found no record of that.
Another super fantastic review my friend! So want to ask you if that magic cycle battery will work on the Himiway? I'm not sure if he tried it or not, Thanks in advance my brother🍻
I put the magicycle battery in my himiway cruiser and it worked. Although I don't know the repercussions of putting a 52-volt battery into a 48-volt system, It's probably not ideal, but it does fit in there and power the bike on.
I thoroughly enjoy your reviews on the sub $2500 ebike market. Since you frequently reference the RadRover in your reviews I would like to see your take on how the RadRover 6 Plus stacks up to the new competition. I know from watching other reviews that the Rover is still not one of the faster bikes in it’s class, a factor that is important to me, but certainly not all other potential bike shoppers. Furthermore, it has had some significant improvements with the addition of hydraulic brakes and semi integrated battery. I think potential shoppers might benefit, and enjoy your every man take, about whether it represents a good value in spite of it’s short coming’s.
28 mph on PAS and 20 mph on throttle keeps an e-bike in the "class 3" category. I don't know of any road that allows an e-bike more than 20 mph on throttle, legally. It's silly CYA litigious thinking to neuter e-bikes that way.
Nice review, I just cannot buy a bike made in Chongqing, China. Chinese health, safety and wage standards allow the bike to be made at this cost. Not to mention the use of slave labor in China is ongoing. At least the web site discloses where the bike is made.
These are more like electric mopeds disguised as electric bicycles, isn’t it? Please give comparisons of all that is bicycles with electric motor yet fitting concepts of bicycling and all compliance in definition of bicycles. Thank you.

I know with my 2020 Radrover after you go up to level 5, you have to use the down button to get back to 0. I would assume this is the same.
Stops at the max.
By the way, your mom said it's time to come in. It's getting chilly outside!
I like that eBike.
Hello to you i am from quebec How to discuss whit you for the purchase of an e bike i trust you thank you i am Richard
Meh. It's a himiRadideal....yawn on the bike. Bravo to you citizen, you bring it no matter the product.
At least the web site discloses where the bike is made.
try swap motors just switch the whole tire
code did not work
is it possible you miss typed it? others have been using it okay.
Magicycle has gone up to $1899 on their bikes. $600 price increase in 3 months. OUCH!
Thats the Adventon not Magic
No hat?
You need to pick up a guitar and sing brother. You have a singing voice that reminds me of Michael Franks! :)
never heard of him, just listed to a couple songs i guess i can hear some similarity...
Yip, inchanged my handlebars out, hated these ones
make the ride position really comfortable but yep, i can see a lot of people wanting to change them.
No selling in France...so desapointed!
These are more like electric mopeds disguised as electric bicycles, isn’t it? Please give comparisons of all that is bicycles with electric motor yet fitting concepts of bicycling and all compliance in definition of bicycles. Thank you.
The code is only good for $100. Must have changed
Sorry about that Thanks for the heads up Yes they must have changed it. I'll check with them and update it
$999 right now
algorithm
Mechanical disc brakes? No thanks.
Are you experiencing a spark when installing the battery? like in this video ruclips.net/video/M4tb4U5deeE/видео.html
