From what I've learned, this version of the 955 has a very stable frequency synthesizer. Smaller board due to SMD devices and large scale integrated circuits. Good review Rooster.
Yeah I’m not a fan of FM at all either. But here in the US not many people use it. I’m sure over seas it’s more popular. But I’ll stick with AM and SSB.
The V2, no more internal potentiometers. If you need any info on these just give me a holla, there is more to these rigs than just using the menu interface to tune things. 73
@@rangertechdx3511 Component upgrades can still be done to these radios is what I meant by that, therefore the radios are not limited just because of the new software designed service menu. 73
Can I use it right out of the Box or would I have to have it peaked and tweaked this is the bandit I drive for Warner enterprizes I've been a truck driver for 4 years now I have a carbon 29 LTD that's kind of old I'm looking for something with upper lower side band I was thinking it would be a cool radio especially because I like how it all lights up in the front easy to see at night
Sir, since this is a new video, I saw one of your videos regarding a cobra 29 hooked up to a kl300p and you mentioned that the 29 is doing 7 watts deadkey. I just wanna ask, is that average or PEP? I just need to be sure coz my 300P is just about arrive next month also to be used on a stock 29LTD. Sure would appreciate it sir.
Don't have much opportunity to run FM but when I do I push it into a Fatboy 8 pill and it's like talking on a cellphone at 30 Miles. One time talked to 5 guys all on FM and it was crazy clear
I asked that same question yesterday and was told no. Glad you said this. I believe you should be able to toggle between 10 & 11 meters by cycling the power while holding the buttons in. Mines on order. Can't wait to try.
Hey bud can you tell me where ur location is I just bought the 655 an have a connex that’s needs a meter bulb n echo knob . I’m coming up the choo choo were I used to live off 153 bison pike . You In that area cus 423 is my brothers area code ?? Be up Friday Saturday this weekend
@@Rooster_Radio thank you sir , can I run it right out the box or needs to be set up to use it ? It’s box accurate says 70watts or that before converting it . BigRigDeLo
Rooster CB what i want to know, is the STRYKER SR-955 a 10 meter or a 11m eter or both! İs these 955 have FM AM SSB than i'm going to buy one! Nice lighting also to use this rig in the night time! Thanks for sharing!
Yes you have to modify. Bought mine through Rooster cb modified, EVERYONE says that it sounds unbelievable and that whoever worked on it did a great job! "Great transaction" from TN--->NH.
You don’t need to add the board on this one. It’s already in there. This is a great radio. I have a v1.2 and the latest V2. The V2 can be modified through software and it has amazing noise reduction and receive capabilities.
FM is used in large parts of the world, matter fact, we only here FM here, nobody uses AM here, NOBODY! And to be honest FM sounds a bit better, less notices, and bit better range then AM 🎉
Ok... pretend I have the intelligence of a potato when it comes to these new cb's.. haven't messed with a cb since I was a kid and some as a teenager in the 80's while running dogs... my question is , can this radio just be used as a regular cb? I see it says " 10 meter amateur mobile Transceiver" would I need a Ham operator license to operate this

Good review Rooster.
Everyone I know who has one of these love them, and are reporting no issues with them. They are great talking radios on ssb.

I really appreciate the review. Mine should be here tomorrow. 👍. Breaka breaka!
Beautiful!
Great review lil Dude!!
They are nice radios
Rooster your the best
no tweaking v2. the last latest V1.2 was the best.

You can buy them ready to go from roostercb.com free shipping
@@Rooster_Radio How much do you charge for them
One happy bird meter there.
Purchased brand new from bird, and registers in line with the other two I have.
Have you ever heard a FM transmission out in the wild? I'm wondering who uses it? Hipsters with CB's in their Prius?
It's not my cup of tea
Nobody shows connecting these Stryker radios to your computer ?

7 watts forward avg power, not deadkey. There's a big difference
I'm told they cut the power back from 100 to 65 watts because folks weren't going directly to their batteries. Any truth?
No

Can one do a precision set up on these?
I did the mod right out of the box, i dont have the power that you have here , did you do other mods?
Did you go into the service menu
Will these still work on 10m channels if they're converted?
Yes. Sir

Are they bright enough to see in daylight?
You can adjust it and they get super bright. So yes to your question
Oh, by the way, my power supply is only at 13.8 volts.
Anytone board ... They have flaws and pros ...and cons as all radios do..but I will say version one is better .... honestly
I would disagree... Honestly
My signal reads around 3-5 at most times and I notice yours is at 1 steady.. what can be my issue hooked up in a semi
Normal to have some static level in a mobile, grounding your antenna better or different antenna location can help

Where’s the band selector knob ?
Looks like they took it out and replaced it with AM FM PA LSB USB.
It’s located just below the mode switching knob. It’s labeled as mode/VFO.
The old ones were too. You’re thinking about the 655 I think.
I have a question regarding this cb,can I use the same frequency for any cb channel.
Not straight of the box, Must have modified for 11 meter (CB). Then yes any cb channel. Contact Rooster cb.
What nice about these radios, you don't have to do much to them out of the box.

It’s a 10 meter radio that you do a simple mod to get it into the 11 meter cb band.
@@ChristiannTyler thanks for the reply Ctyler93.
Is it true you have to modify these to work as a CB? I want to get one like this, but heard you have to modify it, and I don’t know how to do that.
Yes you have to modify. Bought mine through Rooster cb modified, EVERYONE says that it sounds unbelievable and that whoever worked on it did a great job! "Great transaction" from TN--->NH.
Yes it takes 2 minutes. Solder one wire in hole two buttons down turn it on turn channel selector one click turn off n back on your done
Google it
Does it have memory channels?
6amps at 15v is 90watts with zero loss so maybe your meter is a little generous?
Just my personal opinion, the average is too low and the pep is too high. Gonna be hard to match that up with amplification.
They run HD rocket box linears pretty dang well
fm for the fm 10m repeaters
I'm not sure about that particular version but mine had to add a board so you can use the tones for FM repeaters
I actually have a general class license
