I don't know if it was a mistake but I got that same exact radio that version. I bought it about 9 months ago and the people who sold it to me did not realize it was a new version. What I noticed at first with mine was the 12 different lights. And also the FM it seems like it transmits a little wider than the previous model. But anyway yes you're right I'd rather have that Striker over the 955 or the 655 ... also if you hold in the light button and key up the microphone at the same time you can also change the transmit light in the meter to a different color as well
How many watts can u push with that 4 pill? If somebody were to do the 11 meter conversion, would the person need to adjust all the internals or can u just check the swr again on a frequency? Asking for a friend
I bought a 497 awhile back and moved the jumper to get the CB. I have a good swr . my question is after the conversion does it still receive on the other bands and is anything else required after the conversion? As of yet I haven't received the first voice from it but my area is slightly remote.
I bought a Connex 3400hp over the Stryker, because it was my experience that the Stryker doesn't hold up to the vibrations of a big truck pounding the highway at speed. The solder joints break in short order. Great sounding radio though ✌️
How did you get 150 PEP outta that 497? Most anyone can get everywhere else is ~110 or if a difference in the newer generation over the older ones from a few years back ?
Hi There Rooster, Mark here from New Zealand, I do not know much about frequencies on radios but am looking to buy one for my truck, what I would like to know will these radios operate in New Zealand, 40 Channels 26 MHz, if there is a Stryker radio that works here I will buy one from you, Thanks for the good vid
I have a 497 i bought 10 years ago. Just pulled out the shed. Do you work on used radio's. Would love to have someone who knows these radio to work on it
Are these radios legal on CB (11 meters) or do I need to get a Ham license to use this? Someone told me that radios used on CB must be FCC certified as such and are limited to 4 watts.
I have the SR810's that go with the radio. I spent $449 on the radio and around $100 for each antenna. They have a booster cylinder on them that actually lights up. It's pretty cool. I just read a comment that said that the radio doesn't stand up to vibrational stress but every one other than that is positive.
@@Rooster_Radiodo they hold up to the trucks vibration while bumping going through construction or rough roads? I just bought one with the SR810 antennas. Super excited.
I bought a 1/4 cm400 from Carl built directly from day one I have had nothing but pure trouble with it it's a base model I sent it back the first time because it had troubles yes I do admit the first time was my fault but the second time was not my fault instead of putting all new transistors in their he replaced the two that went bad which caused an imbalance in the Box when I contacted him on the phone he basically said my box is not no longer under warranty and basically said the parts in that box such as the transistors are not under warranty which I already knew that from the get-go he wanted me to send it back up there to him for him to fix it I decided not to because of the simple fact I would have to pay for shipping I will admit the first time he did pay for shipping both ways not trying to talk bad about the gentleman but I'm just saying for the amount of money that I spent which is $1,440 and some change was the initial investment then I had to buy two more transistors at 126 so yeah basically I'm done with that situation I will never do business with this man again I'm sorry to say but I have never had a problem like this before with any amplifier builder in my life basically the bottom line is is I'm not happy with this man's products but oh well you live and you learn I have another technician taking care of it at this moment hopefully I will have it back soon and be using it and will not have any more trouble with it
First issue I've ever heard from a carl built amp. Outside of having one come in with a defective fan, there's been zero issues here. I've purchased and sold everything from a single 2879 amp, up to a 24 pill and will soon be getting a 32 for my own suburban. I've probably spent close to 6 figures with him. And I'm not trying to discredit what you're saying, but same as with me, I'm sure if you look hard enough someone will Express frustration because I didn't warranty something. He did pay shipping both ways the first time which is probably more than what I would've done. I get you're frustrated, but at the end of the day 4 transistors is small beans. I blew a $4500 transformer within 8 hours of using it. Didn't blame the builder, didn't ask for a refund, as a matter of fact he's a very good friend of mine

I have the 447 and 497. I wish the 497 would show SWR when keyed like the 447 does. Love them both!
I have this same radio with a 4-pill FatBoy...the radio by itself is great but when I key down with the FatBoy...LOUD AND PROUD

Where did you find a 3400HP? Because I can’t find those anywhere no more.
Got mine working but pretty sure I fried something on the inside since the fuses are fine. Just not sure what to look for diode wise.
Is that straight out of the box performance or did you peak & tune it ?? I'm looking to buy one soon
i am looking to use this for pilot car would it work well for that?
Is that about a 300doller redeo i bote a new one at a pown shop and love it
I forgot to ask, how many amps does this unit pull? I have a company truck and can not alter the wiring or fuses.
I run 15 amp fuse in my kenworth works fine
Someone said it can be ran off a 12V post(most company carriers power setup)but they felt it was being starved off power though is what I was told.
Besides more colors, are there other differences between this V2 and V1? Thanks
Can it be ran off a 12V power post or straight to the battery?
So it's 150 peak with the RF turned all the way down or full open? What?
Whatever was shown in the video. I don't have time to go back and rewatch Everytime one of these questions comes up
Open….all the way up.
I am new to 10 meter radio. Would you please tell me what the band knob actually does? Thanks Buzzkill, NY
Would like to stop by some time. Where you located?? I’m in Jonesboro Arkansas
Don't have a walk in shop, but near Cleveland TN
Lincoln2 and Stryker use exact same.rwciver and opp amp circuit
I wated for a long time for the right radio remember the turbo rave also .
👍🏻👍🏻
I gotta have one of these .

Looks like he has a swing mod kit and turned up the power. No way these do 150 with stock internals. It's a time bomb if so.

Just bought this radio from you, it said ready to go. Did you peak and tune them already or just factory set
If it says ready to go, it's not factory.
@@Rooster_Radio I got 2 galaxy's that need some work done also one with a leanard that I don't think is working right, do you do anything like that

The person who told you that is 100% correct and this is a 10m. radio that does require an amateur radio license to operate.
