Forgot to mention that I successfully patched the hole in the tent! So far so good. Thank you all for coming with me and Nick on this journey! We appreciate all the support! 😊
I was wondering about that. Y'all stay safe. 2020 may be my turn on the PCT 🌻
i know im asking the wrong place but does someone know of a method to get back into an Instagram account?
I was dumb forgot my account password. I appreciate any help you can offer me.
@Rocco Sullivan Instablaster :)
@Kaleb Arthur i really appreciate your reply. I got to the site on google and Im waiting for the hacking stuff atm.
Takes a while so I will get back to you later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
@Kaleb Arthur It worked and I actually got access to my account again. I'm so happy!
Thanks so much you really help me out :D
Good tunes, good map use, good storytelling. Nice to watch your videos come together. Hope to see you in Oregon this summer 😀
I really like the map use and tunes too.
Never clicked so fast! I can’t wait to watch :)
🙌
Love your video and the music. Congrats on 100 miles!
Love that your videos are faster pace. I admire y'all for doing the PCT.
I really appreciate that you film while you're hiking and how honest your videos are. Keep going!
I’ll do my best! 😊
Wow just completed episode 1-5. Thank you guys so much for taking the time to film your hike....the videos are really well done....they really help make my days. Look forward to the rest. God Bless.
You two are fun people. Loved the dancing at Eagle Rock. Can’t wait for your next post.
Absolutely love your videos. Keep them coming! Congratulations on 100 miles
Congratulations on Mile 100! I love how you truthfully mentioned how you got bored during the last bit.. it’s good to know podcasts help!
Great vid....good music Mari...congrats on first 100 milestone....@staysafe...hike on !! Thanks for sharing your adv. !!
Thanks for the vlogs Mari, very cool! Happy hiking to you and Nick!
Loved it Mari ! good job.. love the music. keep it up guys.
The hiker, Jupiter, is a big believer in dehydrated beans. It is his primary food.
Hello Mari, it is good to see you folks out on the trail again. If you come to a store or restaurant that has wasabi hot mustard, buy it because it will clear out your sinuses. You can't beat pizza and beer on a cold windy night. You folks take care out there. The best to you and Nick for a healthy and safe journey. 🤗
Everything about this was great, music and just seeing the progress on a map. What an interesting sight in the dinosaur egg land!
Aw cheers! Yeah that was one of my favorite landscapes so far!
Congrats! on your 100 mile mark. Keep up the Good Walk.
Congratulations on 100 miles!
It was fun to see where you were when you edited the first video!
We were watching you start and you already walked 100 miles jeje soooo cool!
I wonder where you are right now...
Simply the best! You both are PCT champs. Mari, photography is inspiring and your editing is brilliant-on the trail. Wow!
I’m a fan.
❤️
Congrats! Your first 100 mile hike! Great video - good tunes. I usually don't like the music hikers use for background noise - this piece was great.
PS: it's a Yucca tree and the white blossoms are edible.
Looks like fun! Love the music! 👍
I look forward to your videos, you have such a positive vibe. Goodluck to both of you!
Looks amazing. Good luck with the rest of your epic hike!
That was AWESOME Thanks for sharing your adventure 📸 👍🏻 👍🏻 👍🏻 👍🏻 📸🙏
Really enjoying your vlogs of the trail. Makes me want to do it !! So heart warming to see such kind people helping the hikers
I know, I still can’t believe it sometimes! 😊
Bravo, Mari! 👏🏼👏🏼
Loved watching your journey . The pct is definitely a bucket. List experience
Mari, another smashing video. Easily one of my favourite top PCT vlogs, keep up with the good work!
Ah thank you!!
Congratulations on the 100 miles 👍
Loved the music. Great days. Wondered if some days got boring. Love that you are taking your time.
Mari, I absolutely love your videos!
Thanks Anna! So happy to hear it!!
Mari I’d love to see more interviews or chats with people you meet on the trail! I can imagine your come across some funky characters 🙌🏼
Amazing vid as per usual! X
Yes there will be more of that in the future! It’s pretty awkward to shove a camera in someone’s face and have a real conversation like that, but as everyone gets more comfortable out here, it’s easier 😊
What a great adventure You are amazing Mari
Thanks!
Very entertaining video.
Good luck guys!
My favorite backpacking meal is refried beans with oil, cheddar, and hot sauce then add in corn chips just before eating (with or without a tortila to make a burrito). The cup that I cook it in is messy, but it's oh so good. Hike on.
Another awesome video Mari, you're the best 😘
You guys are really putting in the miles. Nice people along the trail. I like the music too!
Cheers!
Sorry to hear about the damaged tent. Hope you guys can make the required repairs, and not have to worry about it further. Enjoying the updates.👊😎...
Yep, I repaired it! Forgot to get footage of that though. 😊
Your Inspirational Mari!
I hope you were able to fix your tent! Yay for the 100 miles!
I did! Just forgot to mention it again. Has a big ol’ patch now 😊
Wow 100 miles down already, ya'll are killin it!
Congratulations! Love the music choice btw.
Congrats! Thats so rad Peace and love from New Mexico
👍🏽👍🏽kiwi boys aye lol
Congrats looking forward to the rest of your vids
Chur
I love the Pad Thai! That’s my favorite camping food. 🤤
This is my second viewing of you and silent guy on your "walk" to Can. Plan a section next year (21) Campo to Yosem. Looking forward to meeting cool peeps like you two!
Y'all got it going on! Take care
How’s the bonding time with you and Nick, learning a lot about each other, great testing time for relationship been put under the mental, emotional, and physical challenge everyday. Hopefully we will see after the trial of your faith this will be all worth it.👌🤙🏽👏😀☀️
I hope you got all the different flavors of the Santa Fe Instant Refried Beans. The Chipotle flavor is pretty good. You don't need to cook it in a pot. You can rehydrate in a freezer ziploc bag with hot water.
I have been loving your videos. I keep wondering where your sunglasses are from? Looking forward to watching your adventures unfold. Happy trail.
You just walked 100 miles, only 2500+ to go, you guys got this. Beans the musical fruit, the more you eat the more you toot. Couldn't help myself. Glad you did not get stuck in the vortex at Mikes. Mary's place is just around the corner. SAFE HIKING
Someone needs to market umbrella hats! The hands could be free, but still lots of shade.
And they made it to Canada 🥳
The content I didn't know I needed.
🙌
Very good tune you chose
Glad you like it!
This is so Amazing ....you are educating me on a whole new thing. I have never been into hiking but your vlog is beautiful & inspiring❤️🤗 what a journey. Keep going guys😅 says the lady from her air conditioned apartment 😂😂😂
Aw thank you! All the best to you and please send those good air conditioning vibes for the hot desert days! ❤️
140 miles in 11 days. Not bad at all! Quite impressive. It's one thing to hike your daily average miles (Until now about 12 miles or 20 kilometers per day) for one day or if you do it several days and probably weeks for every day. Maybe you'll have days where you won't hike as much, but it's not about speed. Still, 12 miles per day... not bad. 👍
You guys should try Pack It Gourmet, is delish!!
You're full of beans! (My mom used to say that to me when I telling a tall tale.)
"After you've been eating that steak for awhile, beans, they taste fine"
And DUCT TAPE. A little duct tape wrapped around a trekking pole or water bottle or the like.
is useful for repairs of all sorts.
I've really enjoyed the first four episodes and look forward to episode five. But may I ask, at this point on the trail, when did you think you would reach Canada and the finish?
I can't believe you found Pad Thai on the PCT, I swear you could sniff out that stuff anywhere!!
Haha yes!! Pad Thai always and forever ❤️
congrats on the 100! amazing landscape and Mike's looked interesting! are you allowed to say which aarn backpack Nick is using and how he likes it (maybe sponsorship clash or something)?
His pack is the featherlight and he’s liking it so far! He really needs an account so he can answer back on his own!
Really enjoying the video's just discovered your page !! Must get to New Zealand ! Are you using the Tumeric for joint pains ?
I hope you do go to nz! Yeah just for precautionary measures 😊
Hi Mari, excellent video. Incidentally, I am curious, did you try any of the water displayed on the sign at 0:03 on the video? Well done passing 100 miles and of course patching the hole in your tent. Only 900,000,000 miles to go...or am I exaggerating just a little bit??? Would that be the Eagle Rock sung about by Daddy Cool years ago? For a minute looking at the Backpacker's Pantry packet view, I was wondering where the huge mountain came from. LOL. Anyway, all the very best. Robert.
Yep, had some of that delicious water the trail angels left out! 😊
Enjoying your videos !😁 you said you got a hole in your tent. How did the repair work out ?
All good! We bought the patch kit when we bought the tent and I’m very thankful for that!
So this being the 100 mile mark, what are your thoughts on your ULA Ohm backpack?
What have you ditched if anything?
I just bought the same pack. The customization is very addicting.
Hi Mari and Nick. interested to hear your review of the umbrellas? Thinking of taking one on my thru hike.
cheers
Loving it when it’s hot!!
Top Fan ☑️
Hi Mari! Really enjoying following your journey! I was lucky enough to hike a section of the PCT last summer and now I'm thinking about doing the whole thing in the next year or two. Living in Sydney though, I've found it very hard / expensive to get hold of gear that is very easily available in the US. Even brands like Patagonia don't seem to sell their full range of gear here! I wondered if you and Nick had any tips for finding lightweight backpacking gear in Australia/New Zealand, or maybe some cottage companies that you know of here? Looking to reduce my pack weight, specifically my sleeping bag! Thanks, and happy trails! :)
Hi Katherine! That’s so cool! Unfortunately I never found a good place to buy cheaper gear in nz. I bought most of it in the US. Sorry I can’t help more! Good luck!
Great videos! Keep up the good work. How do you do the several maps you make? One is animated. Thanks.
I use procreate on an iPad 😊
Thank you
dinosaur eggs! lol
How do you strap your water bottle to your bag?
What date did you start the trail? Mid-April some time?
Filming on a canon m50? Really enjoy your videos... do you have a trail name yet? You guys have inspired me to state backing. Picking up my new osprey backpack this week!
Yay that’s exciting! I’m using the canon g7x 😊
Yeah you!
Ah cheers Jesse!
The food tasting at the end you sound just like Emmy Cho from Tastemade
Did you get your tent fixed?
Was that music Sam Cooke? I didn't think anyone under the age of 65 would know him.
Very nice! Which program do you use for editing?
Kinemaster 😊
What is a bucket shower?
eagle rock? like the famous song???
Hi Mari - did you like camping at Warner Springs? Or did you regret it? I want to pick up a box there but I'm not sure I'll camp there, maybe keep on hiking that day to find another site. What do you think, Mari Johnson?
I liked it! It was nice to see/meet a lot of other hikers and organize stuff. Depends if that's what you feel like doing at that point!
why's it called eagle rock?
12:12 was hilarious
Looks like you guys are having a great time! Quick question about the merch, if you don't mind my asking what size would you get in the tank? I feel like we could be about the same size. Hope that doesn't come off as creepy :)
Not creepy at all! Mine is a medium, though I got it made a while back, so it might be slightly different. I’m 5’6” and it’s pretty baggy, which I wanted. Just depends how you like it to fit 😊
@@mari.johnson Thanks!
Literred with Snakesssss
Did you protect your iPad any other way than the case you have? Also congrats!!! Keep it up!!!
I keep it in a ziplock bag for double water protection and in my bag liner for triple protection 😊
And thanks!!
Really enjoying this series! I know this video showed you editing a video, but man, how do you find time and energy to do an edit after all that walking?
It’s actually pretty challenging finding the time. I try to get a lot done in towns 😊
@@mari.johnson well keep it up a lot of us following the adventure are really enjoying the content 😊 have fun and be safe out there! You're passing Anza soon. I live close to there
How many people are doing the trail with you - do you see a lot of them?
Yeah there are tons of people out here! But everyone spreads apart during the day 😊
Are you going to take the detour and climb Mt. Whitney?
I want to! But it depends on the weather and all that
Nice footage namesake. :) Are you a naturally curly girl? If so how do you manage your hair in the humidity, etc? Probably not a question you get too often, but there it is. And maybe you've covered it elsewhere - How much do those huge packs weigh?
Nice name! My hair is naturally straight-ish. It’s not too humid in the desert so it’s been all good 😊
Mari, I’m behind and catching up, but is there anything that we can do to support you and your fellow hikers from other states?
Aw thanks Ashlee! I have a Patreon if that’s what you’re interested in. Otherwise, maybe sending a box of stuff to hikers? I’m not sure how to organize that but you’re nice for asking!
How is the pad Thai?
12:45 That spoon...is massive......why?
I love love love the song you used in this video. Could you kindly tell me the name of the artist and title? Thank you and terrific job!
It's 'You've Got Me Running in Circles' by Sonny Cleveland (I loved it too and ended up searching the lyrics in Google)!
Rebecca Crane thank you so much!
Try the Indian Himalayas
Can we hear more from nick😁
Omg snake trails?!?!?! 😬😬😬😬
Eek!!!
After eating all those beans you may want to stay downwind of each other 😂.
😂
