I really feel badly for people who didn't grow up in the 70s and go to high school in the 80s. It was unbelievably fun, free of helicopter parents, cell phones, and Big Brother, and we had no idea how fortunate we were.

Me, my brother and my neighbors used to do this thing where we said we’re going camping. Fine parents didn’t care we’re going camping Saturday night. But, we’d wake up at 8am Saturday morning… pack some sandwiches bottle some water and take off. They only knew where we were if A) we came back home Sunday night right before bedtime or B) someone got hurt and we had to drag them out of the mountains lol. Luckily B only happened once hell my buddies and me when I got to HS would take off Friday evening to go “camping” and they were lucky if we did make it to school Monday morning lol. To be honest we were just going out there to have a few beers, listen to music and maybe smoke a joint if someone stole or bought one lol. Still some of the best times of my life!

Think i’m commenting on wrong podcast. Bill was mentioning “Patriots Day” Red Sox game goin out on him in his garage/office. The “troubleshooting” button on cable TV or whatever was killin me. I reluctantly hit “ok” now and then - knowing i’m gonna get zero help. Then it’s 15 minutes on the phone of a computer telling me sh*t i already did. “Unplug the box and re-set”.
If something happened to Bill, I would take loan to go to USA and pay my respect to his grave. Dollar is worth 30 turkish liras, 15X compared 10 years ago. I would pay it. 10.000 miles trip but fuck it

Well, to be fair, eastern Ukraine was a bombed out war zone for many years before the russian invasion. Western Ukraine was nice though, and it still is.
