When there was music on MTV...
The end of MTV with the Jersey Shore bullshit was horrible
One of the best vocalists in metal ever. Chuck Billy's voice shakes floors (literally)!
Yes he is in the top 3 IMO. His voice in metal just belongs!!!
Thundervee so versatile
Great Gutteral Vokills.💯🤜🤜🤘🤘💪💪💪💪💪
yes! he can sing and then shake foundations with the best cookie monster voice ever that you can still understand! chuck rules!
Um vocalista completo ia do melódico ao extremo com muita naturalidade.
Notice how the songs name is "Low" and the video is only 240p
as your sense of humor, also low
@@ljlj chill
Thats how i remember the 90s. Than the early 2000s was 480p
Now in 2020, I prefer 144p
It's like 1440p, but without "0"

James Murphy crushes solos on this album.
When you want to spam the fuck out of a like button. I remember the day this album came out. My truck sounded like a herd of elephants about to trample your house down when i pulled up in the driveway. I played that tape to death for a solid two months. So fucking heavy.
James Murphy is my favoriye metal guitarist because of this album lol
Yes, he does. His solo record "Convergence" is amazing, too!
And John Tempesta in drums cleans the bones from the floor and makes a goddamn cocktail out of them
@@richardnoggin697 Much respect Metal Breathed!
Fuel the fire for war
It's man against mankind
Bruises that they bear
Been beaten down with time
Innocent people suffer the loss
Your broken hope so close to the cross
Sometimes, you just don't know
How low, how low you can go
So low it's sickening
Low, low, show some mercy
Hey you piece of shit
Just leave the kids alone
Why can't you bear
The things that we endure
Innocent people suffer the loss
Lost hope with faith to the cross
Sometimes, you just don't know
How low, how low you can go,

Low, low, show some mercy,
I don't like you for your warped demented ways
I hope the lock you down, so you never get away
Low, low, show some sympathy

James Murphy was such a good fit for Testament during this period. He was instrumental in keeping them viable. And he frickin' shreds!!!!
Eric was there to keep testament viable, hes underrated af and a genius
Agreed dude. Perfect fit!!!
DAMN Straight!
@@laurentdupont-gagnon7889 Erric is Awesome., but he still has to hold James Murphy's Beer!!!!!!
Same with Tempesta. Dude was hot shit at this moment, joined White Zombie a few months later
I wish the resolution on these old school Testament videos wasn't so low.... LOW... SHOW SOME MERCY on my eyes! #Testamentthursday
I was gonna like this comment, again!! hahah
Hey , that was all they had back then before digital, it didn't do the sound much justice either. Better than nothing I guess
get distorted
some mercy on ears is seriously lacking too
The master tapes for these videos may not even exist anymore. If they do they're owned by their old label, and they've already refused to remaster the old albums.
WOW!!!! THERE WAS A TIME WHEN MTV WASN'T SHIT!!
@@scottwoodham1880 *MTV has always sucked since day one.*
Jello Biafra was right when he wrote about them in the mid 80s.
Imo, there was def some cool stuff on mtv but overall it was no different from any other channel in the sense that it encouraged complacency. The music that was featured was easily accessible and many viewers probably never even thought to venture outside its programmed parameters.
Bird-brained teens could just sit on their couch all day and consume whatever MTV would regurgitate their in mouth. That's why I always viewed "Beavis and Butthead" as being satirical commentary on that lifestyle. It's hilariously ironic when you think about it.
In essence MTV has always reflected the herd mentality of youth culture. At least to a certain degree.
Yes there was. 1981-1994
Honestly, they need VEVO. The quality on all their official uploads is crap. This is literally taken from someones old ass VHS recording. These now classic videos deserve better.
Still sounds great though! Can't watch a video if ya headbangin anyway! 🤘
This is one of their best albums imo
All the best Chuck. You can beat this covid 19
LIKE A NUKE!
This whole album was fucking amazing. Not a single filler song. A shame that James Murphy came into the band so late in the recording process that he only co-wrote "Hail Mary" which is a master class in his style. And he nails that solo live like it was a studio recording without an overdub.
His solo's on this album are so out of this world that Alex Skolnick wrote new solo's for all the songs on this album.
Meanwhile James played EVERY Alex Skolnick solo like a pro.
The most underrated thrash lead guitarist of all time.
And the duo of him and Eric Petersen was special, and very evident from their live performances.
Who said that metal was dead in the 90s, Thrash was alive...Testament Rules!
This album came out in 94, metal scene was still kind of alive in the early 90s with bands like Metallica, Pantera, Sepultura, even Ozzy Osburne with No more Tears album, Megadeth Contdown To Extintion, but after 95 metal scene was almost death
If you look all those bands change their sound after 94
I mean this is more groove metal than trash but still awesome
It was alive but a lot of it was watered down in this era to appeal to grunge fans. But not this, of course.
Esteban Carballo | And then came Burn My Eyes
A lot of the classic bands made their shittiest albums in this era imho. Saw this video way too often btw. Vanessa played this every damn week, just like that horrible Dream Theater video set at the Brooklyn Bridge, and that one Almighty video. Happy to have lived through it though.
cuando el MTV era digno de ver...
I loved the whole vibe of this album. Testament is so underrated but incredibly awesome!
Yeah. This album and Forbidden "Distortion" is also excellent. Both are similar and so heavy. 1994!
This is so sick, they changed they're style so fast that I'm not surprised of they didn't gain younger audience that easily. That's their (younger audience) bad, I liked, and lot!
Still a classic in 2023
another masterpiece from legends
I'm fifty and still love heavy metal till the day i did😆😆😆😆😆
I don't care what anyone says, this is Testament at its best. They truly carved out a sound that was different from their 80's thrash counterparts. And yes, while Skolnick is a guitar virtuoso, there are times when his flamboyant style just doesn't work well in the confines of the metal song structures. Murphy on the other hand was an amazing complement to Testament making it greater than the sum of its parts. You can create a compilation of outstanding songs from their 80's material but Low remains my favorite Testament album. The Gathering was great too.
Chuck Billy the most awesome growler in metal!! He originated and perfected it!! Still has it!!!!
+manowKISS1234 Wrong. Possessed started the growling technique.
I saw an interview with Chuck and he stated in the interview that he had started it. It really doesn't matter he is one of the best either way!
+MrShalvayez Possessed didn't start anything not even death metal.
Randy Blythe.
Chris Barnes
Testament are a bad-ass band, but I think this video was made on Sega CD's Make My Video series. Let's put Chuck in a suit and tie, braid his hair, and give him gold face paint and then dump a bunch of black slime on him. Then let's have the band replaced by kids, show a lot of colored strobe lights, play some shots in reverse for no reason, and end it showing a dog taking a shit... brilliant!!!
You people have no idea how accurate this statement is.
WARNING: The surgeon general has determined that listening to Testament at high volumes while working out can cause sudden massive surges of raw energy and power and extreme increases in strength. Use responsibly 🤘💪
I'll take all of the sudden bursts of power, strength, and whatever else I can get from a song like this. It works for me, man!!!
LIGHT WEIGHT!
When you say use responsibly what you really mean is play Testament fucking loud and fuck the Anti-Fa/ GenZ metal haters.
"Leave the kids alone"
Line resonates with me.
As i was home invaded by sadistic ex state policemen turned criminal ( meth mafia)
Who literally terrorize U.S. citizens and they do it by sending their kids in through tight spaces to sneak into homes laden with meth amphetamine smoke and
psyhcotic people because those ADULTS are too smart to go in there themselves.
- wait a minute, ... so they send kids in?
GOOD LORD help them william hershey lane residents of east bridgewater, Massachusetts
John Tempesta brought new dynamics to the bands sound that they desperately needed, as much as i love their early work the drumming was pretty weak
That's why Gene Hoglan is so perfect for today's Testament
@@wltrnz Hell yeah, Paul Bostaph and Dave Lombardo were great too, some awesome drummers were in this band
@@SnowTheJamMan too bad neither one of them could stay longer. I would have loved to see Lombardo as Testament's official drummer.
Lou Clemente was mailing it in on his last 2 albums.
Louie was perfect for the early stuff. He's not in the band now because he would not be able to keep up with their current style.
Murphy is one of the best and most underrated extreme metal virtuosos, so glad he beat cancer and is living a stress free and chill life nowadays ❤
We had 5-dollar footlongs and metal on TV.
We had it all.
Dammit.
JOHN TEMPESTA RULES!🤘
Yes, at one point they actually played music videos.
These days its mainly reality crap, what happened?
I cant watch it anymore cause I get violent when I see the annoying people thats on their shows.
TESTAMENT ISS AWEEESOOOOOMEEE
this album was kinda a shift fr testament. it was definitely heavier than the rest of their shit.
John Rife I have to disagree, I think Demonic was technically their “heaviest” album.
This dope and heavy as fuck (lol)
***** get the fuck off my thread you jackass
Michele Cobré don't worry I say it good you like it this I love all types of music metal and dance I've been drumming for 20years so don't worry about it take care brother
1994= When Groove Metal was all the rage!
Man I miss me some good ole’ headbangers ball. Them was the good ole’ days 🤘🎸
My favorite Testament album and tour.
TestamenT best thrash metal band of all time!
This is when Chuck started showing his Death Metal prowess!
great album from great band. I like the powerfull sound of this song
now MTV sucks
This video needs to be remastered, the quality and sound are very LOOOWWW LOOOOWWW
I remember when this came out... Times before social media, RUclips... If you didn't hear the single on radio or MTV, them you had not idea of how a record is going to sound. When I put this in my cd player.... So much energy, Chuck more brutal than ever before... It completly blew my mind. For me this record is epic, a game changer for Testament and Thrash in general. A masterpiece
James Fn, Murphy is a Beast on Leads 🤘🤘🤘🤘💯💪💪
Love this song/album...saw them with Wrathchild America in College Park, MD...back in the day & several times in Vegas!! Just awesome everytime \m/
What a show that had to be! I am seriously jealous.
I was at the show in Denver a few years ago and Chuck Billy goes, this next song we've never played live at a gig believe it or not. People ask me why don't you play it. Honestly I have no fucking idea why so now for the first time live......Low! I was like wow, fucking nice!
Good thing people asked why, now you've got a historical concert memory.
Fuck, this was the best time for metal. So many great bands, no sellouts, just pure, aggression. Then MTV went to hell, Metallica cut their hair and found their "emotional" side, and all went south. A few bands kept to their true self. Pantera, Testament and Iced Earth to name a few. Head Bangers Ball was awesome!
I used to think TESTAMENT was the number 1 band only up until I saw them with DEATH ANGEL Chuck Billy seems a little to STUCK on himself met up with the lead singer from DEATH ANGEL in the audience at the Sun Shine Theater and said to him what are you doing down here your not one of us and he told me "But I am " now that's a REAL metal head so I switched the two up DEATH ANGEL is the BADDEST band that WILL EVER exist ...... I put out a book of metal lyrics in 2010 the book is called "My Life Death Book" check it out on Google so let me tell all you SO CALLED metal heads 😂 I know what I'm talking about when I was 18 I was going to start my own band but decided to take the simple honest life and have a family that I could be with in their every day Life and now 30 years later I wouldn't change a thing JEHOVAH is beautiful 😎 I don't listen to metal much these days because I prefer to love life and not bury myself in SATANS sick mis led purpose ✌️

This song is a giant beast!!!! Love it!!!!! After listening to the song electric crown (which sounded a bit like pop metal), this song is like a giant kick in the head-& I love it!!!!!!!!!!

Metallica can play like this though

He looks like a cross between Goldust and Mankind to me haha
I was thinking gold dust
This song always gave me Pantera vibes 🤘
What a fucking awesome memorie from MTV Headbangers, I recorded this video in a video tape, fuck yeah hahaha! Greetings from Argentina, fucking metal guys !!
Man, as great a band that Pantera was, I'd stack this song up against Pantera's song "5 Minutes Alone anytime! They're both great songs!
Sodom and Kreator managed to stay on top of their game, Exodus is slowly making their comeback, and Megadeth has recently released some of their best work in years!
James Murphy [ Testament// Obituary/ Death/ and several othhers.🤘🤘🤘🤘
I'm not sure I consider him a growler. I don't think that was even a labeled type then. Either way unlike many others through the years. He still has it. As good if not better through time. Souls of Black will always be my top favorite.
Fuck yea!!! Absolutely the most underrated band in metal! Love me some tucking Testament!!!!!
Video sound quality is sucks shit but song is one their bests, my one favorites albums about Testament actually!
i remember a friend of mine showed me this song when i was 15 (back in 2007) and i loved it! one of my favorites ever since, thanks dear friend for showing me this amazing song!!
Chuck's face paint? SILVER AND BLACK!!!
Headbanger's Ball.💯🤘🤘💪💪💪
Best " Testament" Album.[ imho]👍☝️😎🤘🤘
Ah Testament. The only decent Christian metal band to make it mainstream. Good memories.
Pantera? Is that u... Ok not that much but c'mon that shit is similar to groove metal... Especially pantera but like thrashier (since these guys are actually a thrash band) and the bass part followed by a solo is similar to pantera's 5 minutes alone... With that said... THAT SHIT GOT ME HEAD BANGING HARD
I wish Testament would be ok if I posted their videos from better quality sources, like this one, I have it on U-matic, no logos, superior broadcast quality, but I understand they fuck you over with youtube if you post any of their videos, only they can post.
what is that in the corner? MTV? no way, i think i need to get glasses...
when MTV played good music...
Pantera version of TestamenT.
THE OTHER BIG FOUR...TESTAMENT, SEPULTURA, EXODUS, MINISTRY!!!!
Well that's a good 4 but you must know the big 4 is referring to San Francisco bay area thrash. So try death angel, slayer, testament, possessed....etc. know your definitions.
@@Chris-f4n5r wtf r u talking about? Megadeth is L.A., Anthrax is NYC, and Slayer not bay area either.
Power!
Met these guys at a street side records in independence Mo a million years ago. Still have my concert ticket signed by them. Btw chuck Billy is huge. Like 6’6”. I keep that ticket right next to my GWAR concert ticket signed by Oderus Urungus. Good memories.
Always as good song, i never get tired listen this song, how low how low you can go, low.. low.. show some mercy!
Still chills me. BANGER, and top favorite album
Makes me think of a mix between Static-X and Rob Zombie 🤔
Ok
Depois de 10 anos, venho ver esse vídeo que fez parte da minha adolescência.
Hey, quick question. Sorry to go off topic.regarding Mr. Peteron's dragonlord channel, is that really you doing a dnb mix? It's listed as the same Dragonlord project and updates every Two or three days on the channels playlists but the comments are turned off. Personally I think his black metal project is awesome. This rush in dnb thing is way left field.
-Okay we need ideas for this song talking about war and society. What should we put in the music vid...
-A DOG TAKING A SHIT!
You call me a tool? I listen to everything from Slayer, Dismember, Dark Angel and stuff like that, to Madonna, Duran Duran, Frank Sinatra, The Doors and everything in between. There's a difference between evolving and startint to put out repetitive shit. My opinion is that most bands became boring after the mid 90's, but as far as sound changes go, I really liked what many bands did. Buf if you insist I don't change, then you're nothing but wrong, I'm afraid. So why don't you suck it ;)
My father love this song very but and I love this song ❤️
Can someone unriddle me this: who is the left handed drummer behind the drums IN this video? I keep reading John Tempesta everywhere but Tempesta isn't left handed.
Low wasn't a thrashy album but it brought the growls to testament and they thrashed those growls in 99 with The Gathering, which brought thrash back to life.
If it weren't for WSOU, I wouldn't have any knowledgement of this amazing band!!
John Dette appears on the video, but it's John Tempesta on the record. 👍
The trash riff and musical creativity to this song is so genius!!!
There is no other songs on earth to compare this style to, this is the best trashpower fluid in pop history! Its a shame ppl. really cant hear it.
GaZort Grande it feels like groove metal tbh
My boy is rockin Alice Cooper make up, very cool.
james smith yuh I’m with it
Agree and his voice gets better with time
I watched the complete rise and fall of MTV, Yet it still trips me out to see MTV logos on metal and power hour logos. Been so long since they were good.
Why couldn't we in the US have a female host for Headbanger's Ball instead of Riki Rachman? I never hear about this gal, but she seemed like a good host!
testament é muito foda!!!! Chuck sua voz é muito forte e continua sempre 👍 top!!! testament sempre com seu som porrada de qualidade dês do início da carreira 🇧🇷👍🤘🤘🤘🤘
I don't like me either, but I can say my fucking hate is quite beyond czring, show me your version of , no...
Testament should press charges against metal community for underrating this album in 1994!
I Love this Song.💯🤘🤘🤘👌👌
El inmortal James Murphy el mejor en este álbum que fue un putazo en los noventa ♥️🇻🇪
You r right, but because of this market system, the musicians who do good music are on their way to extinction. Fact. (Musician often have to sell out, become posseurs, to get some money and live through their music passion. True Story.
los reyes del metal junto a Judas priest.
I dont think you understand the concept of the big 4 lol. It means the big 4 of thrash metal not all kinds. Otherwise it have to include WAY more bands, Judas Priests isn't even there lolz.
Way to kick grunge in it’s pathetic fucking ass with this album Testament!! Fuck yeah !!
Well, Demonic is definitely more of a death metal album rather than thrash. And I'd say, that without Alex Skolnick they weren't as great as in the beginning/now.
I have this bands demo tape with Steve Souza of Exodus singing, good to be from the Bay Area
Metallica: Load Testament:
I also think the video itself is WAY out there.....bbbbbbbbbiiiiiiiiigg change from the other videos they have done...cool that they are expanding i guess
glam metal was more mainstream that metalcore is today, well success wise anyway. It depends what age you talk about. Teens follow all those shit trends.
What you young kids don't realize, is that you had to focus your 90s Angst to see this video clearly.
such a killer song to come back with after the ritual
Chuck bad ass native
Chuck Billy's Death Vokills.🤘🤘🤘🤘
Actually, no, MTV has always sucked ass. At least the American MTV. This video was probably from Mexican or Canadian MTV. I think Headbanger's ball was cancelled in the US before this video came out in 1994.
