  • This is only my third episode, but If you want to see more of this stuff, let me know by dropping a comment, a like etc. Its helps the video and channel out a ton.
    None of these clips are to shame the people selling, or make fun of them in any way shape or form. It is just light hearted jokes along with educational info on the pc that are listed for sale. All of the content on this episode are on the Facebook marketplace as of June 2024, and are mostly based in the New England area.

    Those $600 Dell Optiplex computers with GT 1030s are all over FB marketplace down here. As for that “I don’t run ads”, he’s probably referring to those scammers that copy listings and run ads selling stuff they don’t have.

    • @techwandoUS
      @techwandoUS  Месяц назад

      Yeah they are littered. I had a few come through in the past when parts were super in demand, warned people but they did still sell in the height of covid shortages.
      Also yeah you could be right about that seller. I tried looking for the video where he built the PC but couldn't find it.

    Facebook Marketplace can also be frustrating not only due to people overvaluing their stuff but also the people who ask you what your "lowest or last price" is. The problem here is you tell them and they proceed to try and barter further after providing a reasonable middle ground, people not reading descriptions is also irritating lol

    • @techwandoUS
      @techwandoUS  Месяц назад +1

      100% agree. No one ever reads the description...

    That dell in the neriphio case is, at best, a 3rd gen intel. Most likely, a first or second-generation intel due the the power cable having so many wires. For sure by the 6th gen dell had moved to the 12 wire atx plug and stuff like optical and HDDs had power cables coming off the motherboard, I've seen 4th gen like that as well.

    • @techwandoUS
      @techwandoUS  Месяц назад +1

      Yeah, you are probably right, it's most likely a 3570 non K or something. Maybe a 2nd gen i7 like a 2600 non K. I got a bunch of those boards floating around. People just gave them to me free when they upgraded their PCs.

  • @johnhudson7055
    @johnhudson7055 Месяц назад

    Those Chinese x79 and x99 boards use harvested server chipsets and they often only put 2 mem slots on them.

    • @techwandoUS
      @techwandoUS  Месяц назад +1

      This is true, yeah the x79 ones I have purchased usually have a single dim on each side.

    You can actually refill a aio, by taking off the cold plate screws and plate itself. I have done it several times. A waterpump needs water for cooling and lubrication, air will destroy it or running above 60 degrees water temp all the time. My oldest, still running, aio is from 2006.

    • @techwandoUS
      @techwandoUS  21 день назад

      This is true, I have done it a few times also, but some of the brands use a special screw that is essentially like a rivet. I have also replaced tubes before and put some clear tubes for fun. Most people though wouldn't know what to do. I have a pile of older AIOs people just leave at my place when they upgrade.
      Props on your 2006 model! That's even older than I thought they existed. I think the first AIO I remembered seeing was maybe in PC MAG around 2009 or something. I didn't purchase one until about 2012 if I remember.

      @@techwandoUS Its the Cooler Master AquaGate viva, sold here starting with October 2006. You should see the cold plate on these, they had no idea what they were doing back then. Can be put on a geforce 6800 (ultra) and radeon x800 (xt) and some cards before and after. Also has cpu mounting added but these can cool like 120 watts max.

      @@techwandoUS Got 2 of these, with boxes and all. Needed to refill them several times by now. Probably 1 of the 1st aios that was on the market. It does not have cooling fins inside like you would expect.

    Yeah not a fan of the Corsair AIO. I love the idea of the fans because of the Q link single connection. But I hate the price so much. The cat part was hilarious. :)

      Seems like the tube issue has popped up quite a bit too, it's like the weaving is loose on the tube, so when you maneuver it, it looks all wonky. Bad design.

    I'm probably coming at this market wrong here where I live I build rigs for sale as well they don't move super quickly but the prices I charge are cheaper by a country mile then the only comp store in town (Staples) I sell rigs anywhere from $600-$3000 and the profit on the higher end is razor thin. Main rigs that sell are in that magical $100-1500 range

    • @techwandoUS
      @techwandoUS  Месяц назад +1

      I think your actually going at it at the right angle. Anything under 1500 is definitely easier to sell. $500 PCs are like the bread and butter around here. What state are you in?

      @@techwandoUS in actually in the Canadian Arctic small city called Yellowknife. Sadly we have 2 computerish stores and they are really awful for stock/cost. I became really good at grabbing parts on eBay some needed reconditioning but that was always added to the listings.
      I make these on the side more of a option for people up here profit on even 3K rigs is about $100-$200

    So this Dan guy has a video called "NVIDIA RTX 5090 LAPTOP this is insane". Clearly click baiting.
    I want to throw up. At least that's what I would have said if I was even considering subscribing to him.
    Thankfully I never heard of him.
    Now I will never click on his videos.
    Oh, I like the red light look with that build at 05:44 Very good looking even though I am not in favor of black/dark looking PCs.
    Not exactly great offers. Thanks for the video.

      Yeah I saw that video too, didn't even want to bother clicking lol. As a RUclipsr I get the click bait stuff to a degree, but that's just a flat out lie "5090 laptop" 😅
      Also yeah it's a decent looking system. Very true to form.
      Appreciate the comment man, hope all is well.
