Beautiful old freight-shaker. I too love the smell of an old truck hot off the road. I remember my father coming home every night and parking in the garage with his dump trucks. Going down to see him and smell. We don’t use the trucks much anymore but every time we do and they go back in the garage hot, I’m 10 years old again visiting my dad in the garage.
Drove a 83 and 87 flc when i first got my cdl. They both had the round headlights hanging off the nose. Loved them both but they rode like a mule waggon. Spring ride with of corse no air under cab.
What a great ride! Def a fantastic resto. These were very plentiful in my area of Northern California in the 80s. Joe Costa, Snoozie Shavings, Bettendorf were the companies I remember so fondly! Thanks fer posting!
Excellent Video, I had me a 1986 Freightliner single Bunk! With a 400 Big Cam! had the motor completely removed and replaced and built to 700 RWH PWR. For roughly around 18:000$ dollars which, I thought was more than reasonable. Turned over 2800 RPM? With a 13spd,00 drive with 3:91 Rear,s on tall rubber. It was a cool truck for a single Bunk a real head turner, it had dual air cleaner,s dual straight pipes the factory paint & Stripe,s was flawless for having a 1million + miles on it. Ashland Cummins of Pa. Did the engine! My Dad was friends with them and, I tell you what that would eat 4¼ Caterpillar,s up like they were standing still. And I had some good running KWOPPER,S With some good running Cat,s. I never forgot the time when a Dot officer, once hopped in my seat and was checking out the gauges he pind near Shit, in his britches,s? when he saw a Stewart & Warner 300MPH. Speedometer from our old pro stocker drag car.
Unbelievable beautiful truck!!!!!!.... The interior looks almost perfect!!!!!.....and the restoration on the outside is incredible!!!!!!

Hey Erich do you have any pictures of your truck
Freightliner FLC Truck
Nice nails
I love that smell too.
Your spoke wheels are called Daytons wheels pre bud wheels
The smell of gear oil brake dust engine and cigarette smoke. Ah the smell of childhood
I'd swap the 9speed for a 15 speed an put budds on the back to match the steers
Screw the 15spd it sucks in the hills I’ll take a 13spd any day of the week or a super 10 either or
