Always good to see and hear from you again ian. I love glasgow city centre and always have done since i was a kid. When i was working i would save up a few weeks wages then go into the city centre on a warm saturday and spent most of my hard earnerd cash on new clothes, i would buy a new jacket and jumper and jeans, shoes and a t-shirt. I would spend at least £260 pound easy and more. And that was in 1995, then go to the dancing in paisley that night. I always felt by 1995 and 96, 97, that dance or rave music had already had its best years in the rave scene. Yes places were still brilliant to go to but no one could find any in paisley. A drug like ecstasy that was so great and lifted you out of yourself to the point of feeling the best you have ever felt in your life with a feeling of total euthoria and love every one thats under the same roof as you, or venue! Just as the junk scene started to drag the known moral standards and known codes down into the gutter. And it was tragic to see, how heroin can bring down towns to the ground, and places that once thrived for years and years and was great to spend a day shopping. I can still clearly remember the early to late 1980s in paisley and it was great the shops mostly had what you wanted and if they didnt have it that day they would get it in a day or two! The best dance music for me was in 1989,90 then it got better in 1991,92, 94,96,97 then it became to much money orientated through drugs and it just became so fast it was just a racket!
Excellent Blink, some great shots of some fantastic buildings in Glasgow, looking well too. Just shows you we can all turn our lives around when we want to, some good inspirational videos around by the lads who did LIVE LIFE in a different tougher era. I can't record but if you ever want to come down to Leeds give me a nod, keep shaking that tree and well done.
