    id like to say something about Blink. he was in D hall in Glenochil YOs in 1981, If i remember right, I think he was doing 3 moon at the time. As in all YOs, there was a few bullies in the hall. I was also in the same workshop, the textiles. Blink was well liked and respected. I would even go as far as saying he was one of the top men and he wasn't a bully, i never saw him try to intimidate anyone who was weak, and there was a lot of weak ones there, there was bulling and getting chibbed (slashed with a blade) seemed at one stage the norm. Paul Ferris was also in D Hall at that time, but, Blink was the alpha male and never once did i see or hear him abuse that position.. i worked besides his good friend at that time Peff, he was also well liked and not a bully. Sammy Ralston was also in the textiles at that time, another good guy and not a bully. I was in the salvage shop with his brother Gash, he just got 8 yrs at that time. he was also well respected. These guys had principles and a code. I could even see it then. All these negative comments about Blink are just:; well, empty heads spewing venom. People must understand that guys like Blink are a product of the environment that they grew up in. When i got out the YO i went to Germany to work and stayed!!! So Viel Gluck Blink und alles Gute.

      Big jmk, thats exactly what i thought. A true glasgow hard man. And i would hate to think what blink would do to the guys face that did that to him. And the other guy will know all too well by hearing it from other glasgow people. A mean it took 3 guys to do that to ian. And blink was walking his dog at the time, and would have tried to protect his dog at the same time, wich against 3 of them isnt easy. And blink walked away laughing becouse they tried to cut his throat and couldnt do it as blink would have went mental at the time and just kept fighting back, even when your down you still dont give up becouse you can suprise yourself. But it gets harder as you get older as i have found out!

I have been in his company a number of times over the years and never have a I felt threatened by him. Actually I got the impression if somebody had tried to put a hand on me they would have come off the worst. Interestingly he is not too keen on being called, "Blink" and rightly so.

    ocht somebody give him a chance and give the guy a job, be it grave digging or something? whats he going to do ? sell the body, even a street cleaner, is he going to steal the brush? They should have schemes for folk coming out of prison to get them into council work or something, 1 chance only, bound to be something the government could do to keep them busy and it makes sense to giv them some kind of self esteem. I think if they can hold a job in the jail then they can do it outside, its a failure of social services and government to leave people who are at risk of commiting crime penniless and out of work bored. Th amount of money spent keeping them in jail not to mention the impact on human suffering for all parties surely would make it worthwhile to start a job scheme? They all ready have the infrastructure in place with community service, why not have paid community services and let them move up the rank by good behaviour to maybe overseeing and teaching young offenders etc. There is a lot could be done that isn't being done for vulnerable people and we would ALL benefit both in tax and in crime reduction were this so.

    • @dalemunro6879
      @dalemunro6879 11 лет назад +1

      Exactly they should give people with criminal records certain jobs,it's very hard to get a good job with convictions.
      I have a record from i was a teenager i mean why should that stop me getting a good job surely they recognise youthful,testosterone addled misdemeanors,that unfortunately follow you around for the rest of your life.
      I think ex criminals should work with ccurrent offenders and offer there experience to people who are starting on the wrong road

      Steven hewkin, it was a hard place. So was paisley just as hard. But drugs, especialy hard drugs has took the fun and life out of all these once great places to live. I remember in the 1980s when every ones front doors were left open from 9am to 1am during the summer days and nights. And the streets and grass parks were full of boys playing football. Drugs have fucked it all up. With every ones doors and windows locked. And with big and easy money from heroin its well known if cought theres a big sentence waiting on you. So of course theres alot of grasses in it. I have been told from big drug dealers that dont sell heroin is becouse they know theres too many grasses in it. You only have to watch and you will see how many smack dealers get cought with alot of smack as in 100 grands worth. And not that many people knew about that. But the police arnt daft. The first sort of big heroin dealer i remember being jailed in 1985 for 12 years wich i thought then was alot of time, as i was just age 12 at the time. Was arthur thompson jnr. I remember it clearly for 1 reason, i didnt even know what heroin was or looked like. And the fact he got 12 years told me that it was a very dangerous drug and you couldnt buy it in paisley then. Or was it his name that got him sent down for so long. My pal said "it was both, his name and he got cought with a dirty evil drug and alot of it"

    You try living in Blackhill, Provinmill ,Rachazie ,Bar-L and round about , back then even today these were hard housing estates, crooks and gangsters were everywhere you had to stand your ground or you would get swallowed up, it was very hard times when guys like Ian were young you had no choice it put in your head from a very young age what you see things ,somethin could of happened to a member of your family ,and as a known gangster said if you no some cunt is going to hurt you then you go get them first ,No Mean City ......Watch James English Documentary on Ian Blinker MacDonald who admits his past and has learned to live with it ,a great talker .......

    Blink lost a lot of respect when he went to work for Mags McGraw as a debt collector to put the bite on Stevie Malcolm for money. Barry Hughes has gained respect in a business sense and what Blink allegedly done to Fitsy was out of order as there is an age gap way Blink still livin in the 80s and this trouble aint over soon.

    Respect to the man that he realises that crime is a mugs game and isnt poncing on screen like I seen the English twat gangster pal of that drug dealer in England that was shot inside his jeep doing.All the wee go ahead fire ins like ye call yerselves need to go and have a look at the documentary called SCARED STRAIGHT and that tells you all the glamour you have to look forward to being a criminal. 10 lifers in the most violent documentary you will ever see are given FULL access to a bunch of teens that think they're wee gangsters, it would never be allowed in a million years nowadays because these cons are not restrained in any way and they throw them about, take their shoes, spit in their faces, tell them how much they will be anally violated in every direction, have them in tears, pass them about and change them for ciggarettes, not joking! The docu starts with the teens showing off about their crimes and how they dont give a fuck about their victims. They are sent to an adult jail as part of their sentence and it is filmed. They get treated as prisoners once in the prison and all the convicts are tearing at their clothes and shouting how they want to rape them as they walk by, they put them in a cell with a toilet full of shit literally and the walls and floor look like a urinal, they're left in there for a while then are taken to see the set up with a bunch of angry hard nut llifers who are in a bad mood and looking forward to bullying the shit out of them, they do and the kids are left some of them in tears.Nothing like the modern versions AT ALL, I mean these guards walk miles away and the cons get right in their faces, take all their shoes off of them and when one kid gets cocky, this guy with a missing eye and a body like the hulk goes right into his ear and says, " i'm doing life in here till the day I die, they cant give me any more time so I dont really give a fuck,smile at me one more time and make my day, I'll take the face right off you, see them guards, by the time they get here you'd already be done, he is serious. One of them even gets angry with the camera guy and tells him to get the fuck outta his face, its a heavy documentary with real emotions in it that could never be done in this day and age, explicit in every way,from the gay sex abuse to bullying they tell them how the law of the jungle operates and every one of them is built like tanks and covered in scars to prove it, One guy has a missing eye and no less than 17 stab wounds to his body! Every kid should see this film, its shocking and it is a psychological masterpiece how these cons have engineered the whole thing and there is no censorship AT ALL, anything could have happened to them kids, one of the cons even laughs and says what, you think these two pussy camera men are going to stop us, they are right. They all say what crimes they are in for to scare them as well and they are murderers armed robbers and drug dealers. Scared straight its called.

    With blink its strait down the line. Hes a dangerouse man, thats why it took 3 men to do that scar on his face. Becouse not one of them alone would face blink head on. Seemingly the fight went on for 10 minutes and a thinck blink got a good few kicks and punshes in, they circled him at first when he was walking his dog but blink said none of them seemend to want to come at me up close and kept jumping back and forward, and thats hard just with 2 guys but with 3 it gets harder to try and watch them all and see who the hardest one is. Blink said when he was walking down the road he knew strait away just with the way they were acting that they were there for him becouse he was walking slow wich meant they had to walk slow. Then they kind of got closer to him and tried to circle blink but there lucky blink didnt have a knife on him becouse he would have tore the face of at least one of them and they might have ran away. But blink comes across as a good guy and very inteligent to, and good to listen to.
