The double stops in Allegro make me want to rip my fingers off
Kinda funny how the first one sounds like the hoffmeister vla concerto just a whole step lower in the first two notes
Classical Music.
@@nocturnallsnake4228 oof
Take a listen at 9:38 ... it's literally the concerto lol
Been working for months on getting the whole thing performance ready, but I only have 1,3,4,5 and 9 so far...this collection is DIFFICULT.
wow that's an impressive goal and impressive progress!! wishing you the best!
Welp, time to come back 2 years when I can dream about playing something like this then maybe in 10 years I'll give it a shot to practice
edit: it's been 2 years and I'm doing pretty good on the first etude, which is so unbelievable for me
Congrats🎉🎉 I'll start to study this one. It's not my level but I'm try..

Thinking of playing one of these for my college audition but I can’t decide between 1, 3, 4, or 7😅
Edit: Ended up playing 3 for time's sake and I got in :)
I actually played 7 for my college audition :) good luck!!
24:39, 33:34, and 35:09 can be played by alto saxophone.

Darn! I struggle with the last part of #1. It sounds like you’re doing single bows for some of the double stops-is that correct? Thanks!
Hello! This is not my audio, so I’m not sure. But it does sound like it! Good luck :)
Have a look at IMSLP or at the nice facsimile printed by Fuzeau for the original 18th-century publication. The Peters (and various reprints) edition edited by Friedrich Hermann about 150 years ago adds a number of slurs that weren't in Hoffmeister's own edition, and makes a number of other changes (including -- mercifully!!! -- removing the TENTHS; Hoffmeister must have had a large hand or a small viola, or both, I imagine). This performance removes a few of the slurs that Hermann added. There are a lot of places where you can choose to follow Hermann or not.

just a little bookmark for viola all state :)
did you get in?
@@plasticbag501 yeah! :D
@@worm3179 OMG GOOD JOB!!!!!
The First Is like Mozart, a preparation to Mozart concertos
More precisely, a preparation for Hoffmeister's D major viola concerto.
I like these pieces, but I really wouldn't consider them to be etudes. If anything they're melodies which Hoffmeister either never got around to writing accompaniments for or were ultimately incorporated into other works.
No.6 17:59~18:09
Is the beat wrong or the score wrong? or mistake?.What is the correct answer?. 16 notes
yes sounds like the performer is playing 8th notes instead of 16th. possibly different interpretation or arrangement.
