Really good recipe of the « french toast » and very well explained ! In france we used to call it « pain perdu » which means « lost bread » because we do this recipe with old bread.
I am loving all the helpful tips in this video! I have fresh bread so I actually tossed it in the toaster for a few seconds and it helped so much! 🤗 I've never put milk in the mix! This time I did the milk, egg, sugar, and added vanilla extract and cinnamon! It looks and smells wonderful! It's for my daughter actually. I think she'll love it! Thank you so much for the video!! Happy New Year as well!
Hi, Carina, beautiful video. I make a sweet-savory version by adding a pinch of crushed white pepper, a dash of red chilli flakes and finely choppled corriander stalks (very small amount of each so that nothing gets too overpowering). And I add both salt and sugar. It tastes a little bit different than the traditional French toast. Just wanted to share 😊
I really like how it tastes i made the amount less by adding only 2 eggs and 1/2 cup of milk and a lil bit of vanilla powder and a pinch of cinnamon it tasted AMAZING but the only problem is that it's really sweet i barely ate 1
In Germany we call it “Arme Ritter“ which means “Poor Knights“. It is said that this dish was served for the very poor so that nothing is wasted, like old bread. I hated “Arme Ritter“ as a kid. But I will definitely try them again after seeing your version.
I love how much info you added to the description, including the most important thing every wants to see right away, list of ingredients. Such a tiny detail, but such a considerate thing to do. Gonna give you a like and a sub just for that. =]
LOVE LOVE LOVEEE french toast i had to do this french recipe because one im 12 and idk how to make and look up almost everything well not all but 2 i have no vinilla or cinnamon soo
Carina I know this is totally off topic from the video, but I used your cupcake recipe and I loved it. Finally, my cupcakes didn't come out like biscuits+
**Tips** : >Use a teaspoon of Vanilla Extract and a dash of Cardamom/Cardamon Powder [or Cinnamon Powder, it's your choice... You could even add both!] to make your French toast filled with flavor. >If you don't have Maple Syrup in hand you can add more Sugar, it tastes just as good! >Furthermore, you can add 1/2 cup of Condensed Milk and 1/2 cup of Milk for a more milkier and sweet French Toast [you don't need Maple Syrup for this one! ]. >You can use cream or heavy cream if you want a more heavy, creamier effect. >If you like you can add your favourite toppings such as: berries etc. > And if you want to opt for a more Healthier Version, just add lesser Sugar, use a healthier oil/butter of your choice, and top it off with your favourite fruits. Just my opinion, be creative and use your imagination for your custom made French Toast! Have a Great Day!
Is her accent English or Australian? I love how she says 'iggy' instead of 'eggy'.......I'm sure David Bowie is happy in heaven to hear his name related to Carina's fluffy French Toast!
Don’t leave y’all bread out! Bake it at around 200 degrees for 7-10 minutes to help dry it out instead 😎 way more sanitary and quicker if you want it that morning 😎

What kind of butter did you use?? Looks different than the one we get in my area 🥴🥴🥴
Oh my God I just feel like eating the whole entire video or just calling you and paying you for the French toast 😊
Love your recipes. Do you have any low carb. My Ra Doctor put me on a low carb diet.
I don't specialise in any specific diets although I do have a few recipes that would be suitable like my zoodles with avocado pesto 😊
I mean...lol? How can you make bread low carb? wtf
There's almond bread but that's a bit pricey. I can't have flour so I eat rice bread. I think it still has a lot of carbs though.
This helped me so much
You're welcome 🙂
Easy peasy
