My band favourite
Nah you can notice the movements of LaBrie and the pressure that it looks like he gives his voice. LaBrie wasnt re-recorded, I also know a friend who saw it live. LaBrie sounds amazing here too dunno why people are getting worked up. He's recovered
The intro guitar line is so amazing..its very melodic piece. jp put those notes scales together with his brilliance.i keep on repeating the intro it just so amazing..

Don't get me wrong, I'm a big DT fan and saw them live several times as well as most other legendary bands such as from Dio, sabbath, judas priest, iron maiden AC DC etc. And DT is not even in top 5 in my best live bands' list.
LaBrie sang amazing in Budapest on 1st July. Literally, his voice was perfect. I don't feel, that he is the weakpoint of DT. He is a great singer, and we know, he had accident in 1994. Watch the Awake tour in Japan 1995. James's voice is much much better now ...
I just can't get into this solo. It sounds to me like Petrucci was just doing everything he could to avoid copying his solo from Budokan which was so badass and well done that it sounded very much like it was written and not improvised(that could very well be the case). Still a great version of the song though

I've seen and heard LaBrie live in Mexico on the Prog Nation last year, his voice was cool, he did great on all the songs, especially on Forsaken and pretty much the rest of the songs. If I haven't heard LaBrie's voice on Forsaken live, I wouldn't have bought the SC.

For some reason this video is still processing, even though I uploaded it 6 hours ago. Hmm...
i've watched score countless times and really its my favourite concert dvd
but still i think labrie's parts were re recorded and given a little studio magic. i also noticed some parts where his mouth was not at the mic, but there was voice. weird...
but still that dvd and the albums are where he sounds great. in bootlegs etc he always sounds like this. his voice really is on the downhill...
Yeah bands will do that, I still remember my first guitar teacher telling me and my friend he had just recorded a live DVD with his band and they just had to go to the studio to re-record some parts to release it, we where like wtf? isn't it live? then he explained the whold ordeal on how bands release live performance videos. Finding that out was a bit like finding out Santa wasn't real haha

@@porcoddiogesubastardo9669 (just seeing your reply hahaha) honestly the amount of delay on his track makes it really hard to pick up on what he played in this version. I do think the Budukan one is better all around, but he was playing some crazy stuff here that was just hard to actually hear.

I personally think that the guitar solo in this version is better than the guitar solo in the Budokan version...
it's great, but it lacks the emotional build-up of Budokan
Not sure what people see in the Budokan solo. It’s just meandering/seemingly aimless shred. Doesn’t fit the song

Why critique James LaBrie so much? I think his voice is beautiful for a band that has so much diversity in its style and sound. He might have a few hitches here and there, but afterall, he's human too. While instruments can be maintained or tuned similiarly everytime, or be replaced with a new one, a human's voice can't. Just cut him some slack, and enjoy the awesome performance as a whole :)
Without LaBrie dream theatre will never sound the same
