Tourism decline in kilifi

Hoteliers in Kilifi say the number of domestic tourists has drastically dropped after the implementation of a directive from the Salaries and Remuneration Commission that allowances for public officers be limited to venues outside a 50-kilometer radius. Kilifi South Hotels and Restaurant Association, Chairperson, Michael Mwiha said hotels in the area used to enjoy booming business through conference tourism from neighboring counties like Mombasa, Kilifi, and Kwale.
