  • The Toyota Tundra is finally all-new, getting its first full redesign in 14 years for the 2022 model year. And it sure needed it - the previous truck had been dated for years. The new Tundra is a huge improvement, with a brand-new interior, lots of technology, and even some serious luxury in the top Capstone trim. In this video, Edmunds’ Ryan ZumMallen compares three Tundras from the 2023 lineup: the base Tundra SR5, the off-road-oriented Tundra TRD Pro, and the luxurious Capstone to help you decide which Tundra best fits your needs. Head to the video above to learn all about the 2023 Toyota Tundra!

      I don’t know what the physical differences are with the derated 3.4T engine in the SR model, but I’d lean towards that simply because I’m more of the belief of not needing anything really fancy in a pickup truck.

    Got the 23 SR5 RWD. Very happy with my purchase, I don’t plan on doing any offroad stuff with it, just always wanted a Tundra. I added SCS F5 wheels, 275 70 R18 cooper xlts, rb20 go rhino running boards, JB4 tuner, K&N air intake, and custom dual exhaust. That JB4 puts my truck easily at 450hp.

      Why didn't you like the trd pro? I am stuck between 23 trd pro vs 23 1794

    • @OSkyFireO
      @OSkyFireO Год назад

      @@JoshNulled I did like it but I have a young family. I took the pro because I was #1 on the list and had first refusal. My previous vehicle was falling apart. They were also willing to then swap keys for the fully loaded 23 platinum I ordered when it arrived and it came with a MUCH nicer real leather interior, nicer features, the heads up display blah blah blah and most importantly....the towing mirrors.,,,over all because I'm originally from the UK, the naturally darker look of the platinum is right up my ally.....but if you prefer the western theme, by all means the 1794 is beautiful in it's own right. It's a far superior towing machine than the TRD PRO and that's important to me as I tow a large boat.....that air suspension also makes a difference and IS noticeable. So honestly? it comes down to what are you gonna do with it bud? I was honest with myself and know that my truck si going to be a pavement princess like 99% of truck owners who buy a truck at that price point...who the hell can afford to break a TRD PRO?!? certainly not me and I earn a significant income....so I'm happy to go with a simpler suspension system (but still 4x4 capable) and trade it for better towing and SIGNIFICANT interior upgrade.

      Just picked up the SR5 TRD Off-road. Thing rides like butter and pulls pretty damn good. I got it with basically all the options and still cheaper then the PRO by at least $7k if you don't add anything else to the PRO. With that $7k i could throw at my choice of suspension upgrade and/or wheel choice later, or some other mods like a wench and so on.
      If you intend on off-roading; go SR5, save some $$$, and throw it at the upgrades you want. Also, you'll probably scratch a few things so throw some pinky protection on there to with the saved money.

    This makes me loathe the fake truck guys that buy one because there blue collar neighbor down the street has one. They need to pull there glamper camper or pontoon boat once every 5 years. A truck is a tool to get work done. Towing the dump or utility trailer every day to pay the bills. (Put the MAX in the SR and SR5 working guys need power and fule economy too)
