Ooo - I have immediately gone and picked up Beastings on Libby - that sounds amazing! I really need to try Miriam Toews, I have Women Talking on my TBR - hopefully I can get to her in 2024. Yay for Five Little Indians - delighted to see that one in your list 🤩
Ah brilliant, I have a feeling you'll get on well with Beastings Gem because it has that quick change in perspective that Five Little Indians also had. I started Toews with "Fight Night" and didn't particularly get into it. But then tried Women Talking and Irma Both and enjoyed both. So I would say pick the one with the plot that interests you the most as an entry point into Toews.
I totally understand what you are getting at with the Good Doctor review. Thanks. I am going to add it to my list after hearing your review and give it a go
Oh Women Talking is on many people's list and I'm so worried about how devastating it must be. Five Little Indians is on other people's list too and I added it to my tbr!
I still need to read Miriam Toews and love Michelle Good. Three Canadian writers on your list which is impressive. Love a surprise ending. Might have to check out Beastings. 😊💙
Loved study for obedience and it was my clear favorite of the booker shortlist. For me the story was one of vengeance and radical passivity. Can a victim be also the perpetrator? Not a favorite theme among the liberal left.
Study for Obedience really impressed me too. I enjoyed hearing you talk about it.

Both worthy of your time
Very pleased to see Beastings and The Good Doctor here - they are both books that I am VERY excited to read.
Ooo I can't wait to hear your opinion on them! 😍
This was fantastic, thank you. I put The Good Doctor on my TBR. 😊
I'm so glad!
I too loved "A Study in Obedience." I need to add the rest to by TBR, particularly "Five Little Indians." Thank you, Charlotte. Happy Bookmas!
Happy bookmas! 🎄
Study For Obedience was a brilliant book, I completely agree. Great list lovely ❤
The number of readers not understanding Study for Obedience is enormous! Brilliant book!
Indeed, so glad it came onto my radar through the booker
The Good Doctor is on my kindle TBR.
One to read! 😁

Didn't realise about the 3 Canadians thing! Good writing coming out of that country clearly! 😁

Oh firmly yes to that question! 😂 (this was the discussion point of my dissertation!)
As I’m listening to this video - I was opening up a package containing Study For Obedience right at the moment you began talking about it 🤯 📕🪱💚
Oh my gosh, what a sign from the universe that you're meant to read it
