Thanks for saying Simon! A book that shows me that my reading taste is changing over the years is not a bad thing! And I can see why you liked it, it is a solid piece of HF writing 😁
Disjointed puzzle-like vignettes? That’s my catnip! I must get to After Sappho sometime soon. Since I’m not generally a fan of thrillers, I probably won’t pick up Foe, but I’m pleased all the same that your pick of the 6 is written by a Canadian. 😊
Ooo! Im excited for you that After Sappho will be exactly what you love to read! It's so nice when a book that doesn't work for me works for someone else! Thanks for stopping by Lindy! 💕
No other multigenerational family stories I have read after The Eighth Life have been anywhere near as good so I can appreciate what you are saying. I also felt similarly about After Sappho … thought it would be a 5 stars but got kind of bored about halfway through. Great video as always ❤
I read Foe a few years ago and absolutely loved it. I also enjoyed Iain Reid's I'm Thinking of Ending Things. However, his newest book We Spread was a huge disappointment. I've reacently finished Kala by Colin Walsh based on your recommendation and it's the best book I've read this year, so big thanks to you for that one! 😊
Eeeeeeeeeee!!!! I’m so glad my pick worked so well for you!!!!!!
thank you! 😍
Thanks for reading one of my favs, sorry it didn't work as well for you as it did for me! Enjoyed the video a lot!

I just subscribed to your channel and am really enjoying your vlogs. But wow, please no spoilers! Luckily I already read Our Wives Under the Sea.
Thanks!
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed the video 😁
I'm going to have to try Foe and If an Egyptian...
Shame about some of the others that have been on my library TBR for a while now. Cheers 🙂

I didn't like We Spread either.
Glad you enjoyed Kala Lana! Should I read I'm Thinking of Ending Things as my next Iain Reid book? 😁
@@charlottemolloy I think it's worth a try!🙂
Reserved Foe at our local library, sounds just what I need
Hope you enjoy
Might have to add Foe to my TBR and happy to see If An Egyptian Cannot Speak English. A Canadian book that’s had a bit of buzz. 😊💙
oooh, finally someone whose opinion of ‘Our Wives Under the Sea’ was similar to mine😅
Foe was one my favourite reads of last year. Everything I've read by Iain Reid I've given five stars.
Wow ill check out more of his work
I’m confused then, is For commercial or is it literary?
Hmm, good question, I didn't really think about that whilst reading it, I guess it could be argued either way depending on your perspective
⚛😀
After Sapho was such a disappointment. Last half was a slog and the plot\message\point was sufficiently muddled as to be totally lost.
Great to hear that we are in agreement!
