    I bought a lot of Milwaukee 10 inch blades on Ebay a while back, it turned out to be one of the best investments I ever made (15 blades for about $250). After using one considerably for 6 months or so for framing and trim work it has stayed unbelievably sharp. I'm set for life!!

    Roger, enjoy the videos well done. I've had one of these machines for about five years. You are correct when you say a bit more money spent on it could have improved it. However, the main thing needed is time and mostly....patience. If you just chuck a blade in it and bish, bash, bosh - your not going to get any good result. I downloaded a digital level onto an old iPod. Used that to set the cutting wheel and the saw blade in a precise orientation. Add a few extra locking nuts to make sure everything is stable. I also colour in the saw tips with a permanent marker and look at them after sharpening with a powerful magnifying lens to ensure even sharpening. If your a professional tradesman this is probably not worth your time. For a garage workshop do it your-selfer trying to save a few quid the before and after results are very noticeable. I got it because the local firm I used to sharpen blades closed down. If you've got plenty of patience get one. If you've got a short fuse - defiantly don't.

    I got one a couple of years back as I had 25 odd blades varying diameters that were blunt. At first had no luck, but I got a new 600 grit blade as the one supplied is way to coarse and now it works amazing. every so often if I get rained off or something, il get some sharpened done. honestly get a new disk and have a practise. No good for rough buggers, but if your generally skilled at sharpening and understand blade geometry you can get fantastic results with it.

    All my saw blades have exactly the same teeth and spacing. I can use each blade 3 times longer than usual. Work that out over a year and thats alot of money saved. I can buy a new blade for about £20-£25 or have an old one resharpened for £10-£15, so I only need to sharpen say 4 blades to make money back. I use to buy a new blade roughly every month, so 12 blades at £240 a year (not including mitre saw blades), but now I'm only buying about 4-5 blades a year. £160 saved on skillsaw blades alone, it's about another £180 saved on mitre saw blades.

    It's worthwhile to keep a specific RIPPING blade (minimum teeth) on the table saw for rip cuts and do all your cross-cutting on the miter saw. Ripping blades give a planed like finish on boards with little sanding and will last a long time. Don't use the rip blade for plywood, glued stuff or any other cutting.

      @BischBaschBosch 5 лет назад +2

      Subjective really. I've used both and like both in my mitre and table saws and tbh, couldn't say I noticed much difference. Both do clean cuts/rips, keep an edge well and take resharpening well. They also both leave a powder coating mark when worked hard which is annoying. Red in the case of the Freud, blue with Irwin. But then, this is an issue with all the powder coated blades. The coatings are great for reducing friction but will eventually mark work. Started to happen with my Bosch Expert (blue) blades and my Key Blades (white) too - though both of those are excellent. If anything, the cut from the Key Blades is the one I've been most impressed with - super clean cuts with either their ripping or cross cut plunge saw blades. Better than my Mafell originals even. Their range is pretty limited though.

      No it's not SKILL BUILDER MY ASS !!! He is sharpening the blade on the wrong side of the grinding dice and rotating the blade backwards. That's why the "Stop" isn't working. You are MISGUIDING YOUR FOLLOWERS !!! And you must know this by now but leave the review up for the money. Shame on you! 😠
