Awesome reference to Lord of War! One of my favorite movies for sure. Aside from this I'd really love to see an actual GBBr AK-47. I'm really curious about the milled receiver, we have so many stamped receivers.

The AK-47’s aren’t really that special in Airsoft as there are so many! But every time I see an old early type Russian AK on RUclips, it’s so nice to see. They’re rather special imo.

@@BadaBingPicturesin the airsoft market, milled receiver AK like this TM is actually rare. A lot of them are AKMs. I really like how TM captured the realistic look of type 3 receiver on this replica, which features two long shallow grooves machined into the lower receiver. Plus, this pistol grip is different from AKMs too. The TM replicates it well too. I just bought a new TM NGRS ak. Externally it’s a bit disappointing but given it is a rare replica, I might keep it instead of returning to the merchandise. What’s your current opinion on it since you’ve also owned and reviewed TM AKM GBBR? I’ve bought a E&L AKMS too. TBH, externally, TM’s AK AEG is not the top in the game. Would this be a deal breaker for you?
@FITNESSOVER45TM is the most reliable ones in the market now. You won’t disappoint with them. The only problem is that if you’re in the U.S. you want to boost up the fps a bit as TM stock guns have low fps. However, since they have magic hop-up. You can send BBs to where you desire them to be. I’ve owned both TM stock and upgrades ARs, HK416s and recently become TM AKs fan boy. I look forward to enjoy them as they have a kick or feedback other than normal AEGs. If you’re into milsim type of gun or just for training for your real firearm, TM’s realistic bolt catch feature (both ARs and AKs) will not disappoint you.
they need to up there game in the body department , especially in comparison to a ghk akm or an E&L AK, this thing is so toy-ish

Gotta agree with you, can't seem to get along with AEGs since switching to GBBs exclusively a few years ago. There's just no response from them I guess! However, I enjoyed the video, nonetheless. Yes, totally. In the past I’ve only used AEG’s in situations when I’m feeling lazy. That and they’re generally just very boring to use!

Awesome review as always! I’ve never been impressed with the recoil shocks. I had a Scar H. Next to the WE Scar H, it felt like a toy. Even with a load of money thrown at it, my MWS is still shot better in every way. Next to a GHK AK for example, this looks like a springer

How have your experiences been with customs in relations to importing these? Does it work out cheaper than sourcing them from UK retailers?
Shame about the lock up. To be honest I wish they'd revisit their older NGRS models and update them, I'd snap up an AK-74M if it had the bolt stop in a heart beat.
Years ago you used be able to save a little bit of money. Now it works out roughly the same or maybe a little bit more.
Sometimes a shop might mark the item down at a lower value and you don’t pay as much as you expect when it comes to import fees. That’s helpful providing all goes well from the moment it leaves the shop to the moment it arrives in your hands.
If anything it all adds to the realism. When I first fired a real AK in Russia I had a feed jam, lol. I agree, they need to revise their recoil lineup.
Upgrade their 74M and G36 with the bolt stop.

I have it, i love this replica! I love EBBR AEG by Tokyo Marui , i have the AK74MN, the AKS74N too and i'm very happy with them!
I can't play with normal AEG now, they are so boring without recoil shock.... =D

@@BadaBingPictures Yes they are! =D even if the hand guard of the AK47 Type 3 or the AKS-74N are in plastic/abs , it's better than some real wood from Cyma for exemple!

@@Kefuddle Hi mate ! Well it's true, without the side rail, it's a little bit complicated...
I bought a Cyma railed top cover, it's a dog leg type top cover, you can adapt it to the AK47 Type 3 in place of the rear sight (very easy to remove) it's not too difficult, maybe a little bit of work.
Yes it looks a little bit strange, because it's a Type 3 and some purist AK guys won't be agree, but f**k of, you can have an optic on the Top Cover, I have a Picatinny Kobra on it, it looks great to my mind ;)
Second option, you can buy a simple sight rail, you throw away your rear sight, but you have a little Picatinny rail, you can put a T1/T2 or RMR/SRO type red dot sight, very easy and inexpensive, and sometimes you still have an emergency notch to aim with co - witness if your red dot dies.
And last option, I never tested, but you have another mount for optics that you can mount on the rear sight base, it's called "Metal railed scope mount for TM AEG AK" on Airsoft Tiger 111HK, you can go check it out if you want, a picture is sometimes better ;)
Apart from that, because of the battery, you can't mount a railed gas tube like an ULTIMAK rail, but you always have some options for mounting optics.

Betwin the e&l and lct do you know wich one is more balanced on the trigger hand?
The lct has battery in the stock but the stock sounds really thin compared to the e&l, what is your feeling when you are holding one? (not when pressing it against your shoulder)
Also the e&l receiver continue behind the motor grip and i find this abit weird, is it because the stock is attached better than the lct?
Ps:im starting to love ak74 aswell("with akm lower handguard and akm mag😍)
But since the receiver looks thiner and the outer barrel longer does it means the balance is not as good than on an akm? If you ever had the chance to hold one im really curious on the feeling you got compare to an akm

Sadly I have never had the pleasure of the E&L Ak’s. However I had held the LCT AKM, which was well balanced and solid. (From what I can remember).
I have heard from various places that the E&L is superior in external build quality compared to the LCT.

Any guess as to if the issues you mentioned especially the jams are prone to this model or just rare issues in yours? I’d like to pick up an AK instead of an m4 but I’m out off by that jam you got
This wasn’t an isolated incident. I heard from Dingo Dingchavez RUclipsr and he had a similar lock up on his.
I believe that both of us had 1st batch guns. But I haven’t heard of these lock ups for a while now.

You had any experience with GHK AK and c02 mags? I ask because i don't know if i should go 1J nozzle or low velocity. Main thing Is It stays below 370 fps but I'd like It as close to that as possible, FG say Npas's don't work well with c02. Keep up the good work my dude.
I’ve owned the Gen 1 AK CO2 Magazines. They were no good as they couldn’t hold the gas, so I sold those on.
One potential avenue which you could try (although there’s a bit of messing around), is upgrading the inner barrel. You could opt for a shorter length inner barrel and this would naturally reduce the fps.
Likewise if you installed a shorter length Wide Bore Inner Barrel. This would decrease the FPS more and even using CO2 wouldn’t raise your speed over the threshold for your site limits.
You would also be improving your groupings if you went down that route. But as I say, it’s a hassle.
Yeah it is a bit of a pain In the backside but Saturday I went Into my airsoft bits and bobs to lube my gun, got the lube lubed the lot, trigger, contacts, nozzle o-rings, you name it only to realise the "lube" I'd used was mitre mate (superglue on steroids, the bottles are exactly the same shape) Had to strip the gun down 100% pretty much, trigger contacts, the lot to clean it with Acetone so I'm confident I can pull that off, I will try a 1J nozzle first though, thanks for the response and advice my dude you are a good man!

Grate review! I've been thinking about getting one of these but wanted to wait for some reviews of it to come out. Still not sure if I should get it or a KWA ERG AK OR just get an AA12. I already have a ghk ak and sure there are times when an electric gun would be grate but most of the time if I can I think I'd just use my GHK as it's so nice.

The KWA AK ERG would be cheaper. I guess that’s one thing, although you don’t get the Blow Back Bolt like you do on this TM AK.
An AA12 would be dynamite fun! But if you at least stayed with the Ak’s, you’d still have the use of those magazine pouches ;-)

Yes they really are! I sort of feel like most airsoft guns have been sort of spoiled for me now as I'm always comparing them to my GHK AK. I've even been been able to use it in -2c this winter which is grate! (and every one said I was silly wanting a GBBR and living in Scotland!).

I think the challenge of using the GHK/Any other GBBR with its limited capacity makes you a better player. Plus environmental conditions being a factor.

Yup the limits of a GBBR and the 'recoil' and having to use it in a more "realistic" really ups the fun factor! (carrying round 8 mags for it however gets a bit much).
The only problem I had at lower temps was when I got icey mud inside the gun : / (which is a bit of a silly think to do, should not have put it down in mud) and when the green gas bottle I was using froze! Which was something I had really not considered as likely to happen.
Weird question but is the 'bolt' plastic or alloy? The older ones were metal and liked to snap (too much mass I think)

Compared to my old kwa rm4a1 the tm recoil is pretty meh,it shot further too. Externally tm is in a different class and that's what airsoft is all about.

If I understand correctly you say the recoil on this isn't very good and also the recoil is let down by the weight of the gun. If I understood correctly then please would you know another SMG with good recoil. It can be gas or electric BUT where I live I can only get Tokyo Marui.....

Sure. Electric gun recoil will mostly always be lighter than gas. There are exceptions, such as the GBLS DAS M4 system.
Luckily Tokyo Marui make GBBR's, like the AKM and AKX. Along with their M4 series. So these would be better alternatives if you want a recoiling experience from your airsoft guns.

Never got to the bottom of it and I sold the AK not long after making this video.
I haven’t heard of any issues with their AK47 T3 in the years following this video. 1st batch issues most likely.

I don’t believe they did. An underfolder version wasn’t made with the same bolt-stop/recoil engine.

what do you mean by ruined experience because of always using Gas blow back Ak? Are gas ones better or worse for blowback, also what is the best blowback (gas or aeg) ak47 you've ever used or seen?
Gas Blow Backs will always have heavier recoil than electric guns. They have a proper bolt carriers that reciprocate upon every shot and AEG's just have a small weight that flicks back and forth. That is so underwhelming, and even more so when I'm used to a GHK AKM.
I've only used GHK AK's and for GBBR's the recoil is actually fairly light compared to other gas rifles on the market. Although GHK made them to be snappy and efficient, rather than heavy recoil gas hogs. Heavy recoil kits are available though.
@@BadaBingPictures Thanks mate thinking about getting a GHK AKM now saw someone made a aftermarket drum mag for it so should be popping.
It's known as one of the best GBB AK's. It has the most aftermarket support too, so you could always upgrade the hell out of it if thats your preference. Or keep it stock and its just fine.
I'd love an 75rd drum mag, just for the awesome factor... but I can't be doing with an HPA line. Boner killer right there, lol.

Wonder how this compares to the KWA / KSC version of the next-gen recoil AK..
This TM is more expensive than the KWA Recoil AK’s.
I have no experience with the KWA Recoils, sadly.
I played one game with the KWA recoils and then sent it off to have its internals transplanted into a set of E&L steel kit... it has not been easy, fortunately I'm not the one doing it lol

I’ve seen those advertised. My colourblindness doesn’t really conflict with my day to day life too much.
@@BadaBingPictures Ah so you only got it a tiny bit ? But you can see 3D objects or not ? Because colorblind people do not really see the volume and depth in and of objects because of the missing contrast of colors.
You should try these glases at least somewhere.
Some people really break out in tears because they did try the glasses and saw all the colors and shades.

I just don't get it. It looks like a toy, I can buy an E&L for less and an LCT for a alot less, special mags needed and limited battery space. I can live without recoil frankly. Blimey CYMA make's a more realistic looking AK then this. You spend this sort of money you don't expect to have to spend a shed load more to upgrade it to make it useful. I just don't understand.

I think the main draw for this rifle is it’s bolt stop system. Sure it can’t compete with E&L etc, for externals.
But beside those gorgeous exteriors, they’re just like any other regular AEG inside, primitive and boring to use.
I think if TM wanted to create a realistic looking Airsoft gun, they could. But as we can see they’d rather go the other way and develop something for a gameplay enhancement.
What utter rot. Both LCT and E&L have very high quality internals and perform right out of the box. TM rifles on the other hand have weak FPS and need to be upgraded to perform, so you spend £500 on one then you have to spend god knows how much upgrading it. I own two LCT's and I've never had a gearbox lock up on me like this thing did in this video! If you think a bolt stop justify's that price tag then how do G&G do it as well for half the price? Frankly I can happily live without recoil shock, bolt stops and blowback systems.
I didn’t say LCT and E&L have low quality internals. I’m saying they’re primitive and the result of a 25 - 30yr old design.
At the end of the day they will continue to fire even when the last bb has left the barrel and they do not add anything new, apart from flash looking externals.
Sure there are other companies that produce the same kind of operation and at a more affordable price, which is a good thing. But there’s a reason why TM recoils have sold very well since their inception.
There’s a culture in Airsoft these days that everything *must* be upgraded. It’s an Arms Race. Back when I first started airsofting, the most you could upgrade on your AEG was a sling and a scope if you were lucky. Airsofters are spoiled for choice nowadays.
Nobody seems content with having a stock gun, they must shoot “lasers”, which is a total fallacy, you can only get so much out of a toy gun. And that’s all these things are. Toys.
What’s more FPS isn’t everything. It doesn’t make an Airsoft gun any better/shoot further/more accurate. People don’t seem to understand this, blindly believing that more is best. That being said, if a player does feels the need to upgrade, then there’s a plethora of aftermarket bits available.
That’s the beauty of Airsoft. It caters to a massive audience with very different tastes.
And a TM is every bit as "primitive" and worse then that weak except for recoil systems and bolt stop, none of which improves performance, they are gimmicks. I don't need a bolt stop to know I'm dry firing. FPS is indeed not everything but still an important part of a good airsoft gun, the faster speed gives the enemy less time to react and the extra energy is useful for punching through foliage. I've been shot at frequently by non upgraded TM's and as those BB's serenely float towards me it's funny to step to one side and see them all miss.
I don’t like these AEGs with recoil. The whole point of having an AEG is to shoot a laserbeam of 10k rpm bbs from a 300 round hi cap

I own about forty five ak 47 airsoft replicas. After having seen the Tokyo Mauri used in game play and comparing it to non Mauri brands used by other game participants.....I cant say I am missing anything.
Except maybe the the fact I didn't have to pay extra for a brand IN MY OPINION Is MORE HYPE THAN FACT!

i spent almost $400 on a tokyo marui ak47 back in 2002 and that pos gears stripped less than 5000rds in. im not sure ide trust this brand ever again.
I remember spending $650 or more on a custom tm ak47 with upgraded spring and gears, g&p metal body with real wooden grips and stock in 2005, that thing worked well and I probably fired the same amount. I ended it selling it on eBay back in 08. It was insane of me spending that much, but it was worth it! I'll never going to spend that much on a aeg even to this day.
