Of the last 55 years of being my idol & fan of "Billy Cobham", one of my favorite drummer all time of my life. A very creative, knowledgeable song writing drummer, with funky strong off beat that is always on time on the beat. I take my hat off to Mr. Billy Cobham". I learn a lot from my man. I thank God he is still on this earth with us all music lovers.
I bought Billy Cobhams record 45 years ago, believe this or not my 8 year son absolutely loved it, as I did. I'm 80 now and still love listening to the best drummer ever Billy Cobham!
Hey Larry! If you see this: you, me and Lou Palmer used to play together at Taste Disco in the mid 80’s (Pastman, Palmer and Kimpel). Much love to you my brother !! Jamie Pastman
I tell this story over and over; George Duke came to my conservatory in 1972 and opened the universe by explaining that just cause there is a silence, it doesn't mean that it is empty. Then he showed us. Thank you, George.
With this 2 monsters & Kimpel on bass, that night....."Stratus" reached the peak of infinitie joy ! Never get bored of this.....Duck is a Maestria ! I'm miss him....and thoses years !!
George Duke, Billy Cobham, couple of the best musicians ever. I saw Duke at the hight of his career, so talented. RIP bro.😢 I saw Billy at a tiny venue .with Sheila Escovido, just hanging out she didn't even play unfortunately. Billy one of the best drumers in the world, just a great performance.

Oh yes..George & Billy..really 2 music giants!...too bad this can't happen again, as George had left us for a better place....what a loss, but his music will sure not be forgotten by many!...Thanks for the music George & R.I.P.
Billy Cobham is part of my musical life since I was 12 years old; now I am a retiree & he is still with me. For sure one of the greatest, if not THE greatest jazz drummer of all times. Just marvellous !
I met Billy in the mid-90s at a clinic/concert, he’s a very humble person.. with no doubt one of great modern drummers... he's one who made the drums history...also great musicians George Duke and Larry Kimpel. George Duke is one of my favourite keyboard player...
No pretense to Billy. I also met him in the 90s very humble Shiela was there along with him she is gracious and humble too. And George Duke was a musical genius one of my all time favorite musicians. Duke and Billy were great friends as was Shiela E.
@@dougtodd305 - Excuse me, but I didn't remember my comment made over a year ago. English is not my first language (I'm Italian) so I don't understand what you mean with "no pretense to Billy". In any case, I didn't mean and I haven't written that he is the only kind and humble person (in this case musician) in existence, obviously there are many. I met Frank Zappa many years ago and I have very nice memories. Vinnie Colaiuta I met him twice during Sting's tours who was very nice to me and he also told me what really happened during his audition with Zappa ect. But not everyone is always like this beyond the "bad day" that a person can have.
