- Hi and Welcome! In today's video I will share my design team project using the Fall digital printables kit from @TuCasaDePapel I will be showing you how to make tags, journal cards and pockets using up the leftover book pages pulled from an altered book.
In a previous video I altered a hard cover book and transformed it into a beautiful junk journal. In the process I took out several book pages and made book page ephemera. I have the flip through video linked down below for your enjoyment.

Brilliant that you made this video - thank you 🙏🏻 - I saw your altered book and loved, loved, loved the large tags, but was a bit daunted about the stitching, but your explanation of just sticking the pages together, then sewing and then cutting around the edge, made it so easy - I am doing a Peter Rabbit journal and wanted to make some super large tags and this is exactly how I will do it - thanks again, love your videos and talent

Hi, I am enjoying your videos very much. I have a minor suggestion I think might help. When you are holding an item up to show you tend to wiggle and move it around which makes it difficult to see. If you could hold it steady that, I think, could help your channel. 😀

I'm new to your channel and I love the idea to use book pages for tags and pockets. I couldn't figure out how you would attach the pockets to a journal page though. How would you do that? I love all your ideas! Thank you!
Hello and welcome! 😊 I like to add the pockets as tuck spots. I'll add glue to the outer and bottom edge of the pocket and attach to the page. The inside edge will not be glued. The pocket will then double as a tuck spot and pocket. I do this in many of my journal flip throughs. 😊
Very cute. Where do you find the rosette trim?I’ve looked and looked for it. I Had some in mustard yellow and used it all up. Then found a bit in the aqua. Would love to find where I could order it. The cards, tags etc turned out cute and bright. ❤❤❤
Thank you! Joanne is the best bet. It's called Rose netting trim. I used to get it at Hobby Lobby but they've not had it lately. 😊

What brand of gold thread do you use on your machine? What do you use in your bobbin? Judy❤
Hi, thank you for asking. I use the Coats and Clark Metallic thread in Gold and Sewology (Hobby Lobby) embroidery thread in Gold. I'm not a sewing expert therefore I don't know much about threads but these have worked great for me. I tend to reach for embroidery threads more often. Hope this helps.
Is there a video on how to sew on paper? I received a sewing machine but I do not know how to sew. What number of tension do you recommend? And what size of needle?
😊 hope you don't mind the intrusion- I'm a new sewer too. Just use what the machine came with and use tension setting 4. Thicker papers, 3 1/2
Hi Deborah, I honestly began by experimenting. About 20 years ago I had a tiny Provo Craft sewing machine and I'd use it on paper. It wasn't until a few years ago I purchased the Brother sewing machine and just gave it a go. I am not an expert but I do play around and give things a try. The needle is the same standard one that came with the machine. My recommendation to you would be to start. There are plenty of beginner sewing videos on RUclips by experts. I go slow with my machine especially when I'm stitching multiple layers. Thank you for watching and I hope you find this helpful.
About what percentage of the book would you say you remove to make your book junk journals?
The first and the last 2 or 3 pages I leave intact. I remove 5-7 pages between the two that are glued together. I will be working on a video soon to show my method. Thank you.
