    This was a neat idea. It reminded me of when I was a little girl we would use the Sunday comics or a comic book and lay a piece of wax paper, wax side down, over a picture and scratch the surface and it would lift the picture off the paper. You could then lay it down on a plain sheet of paper and scratch again and it would print it onto the new paper. Thanks for that old old memory.

      What a lovely memory! Sunday comics were a delight for my brother and me in the 60s as well. But I don't think we ever used the creative transfer idea! Thanks for sharing.

      @@annekenlon Well Anne, I am a lot older than you so I would imagine by the 60's it had gone out of vogue. I was doing this back in the 40's. LOL BTW, I just bought the glue and tips (those fine ones), the glue brand is called Craft Glue by Oycevila. I don't know if that is the same glue or not, but I am having a difficult time squeezing the bottle. Do you dilute this to make it easier? I have RA so I don't have a lot of strength in my hands.

    Great idea to create faux washi take. I am very impressed with the fact you are keeping your videos down in the 30-minute mark. I love to watch longer videos too, but when people spend the majority of the time just showing me how to cut and then begin to glue in an assembly line 20 things I end up skipping a lot because it is so repetitive for at least 30 to 40 minutes. Thank you for keeping that in mind. I'm also really enjoying the fact that you are using literally junk which is where the idea for a junk Journal came from, instead of a lot of purchased things to print out or buy in the store. And since I don't have a printer I am loving what you are showing.

      You are giving me such welcome feedback - thank you! Yes, I like to shoot for a half hour - that's usually long enough for me to squeeze in an idea or two, and I'm glad to know it works well for you, too! And like you, I really enjoy using old-school original materials instead of buying or printing new stuff - for me, it's much more fun (and green) that way!

  • @scarlettsugar8159

    It's funny you mention the book you tossed since I'm always having to be careful what I use from really old books as well. I love the really old pages already being distressed/ foxed, BUT I always have to thoroughly scan every single page because there can really been some objectionable content from time to time that I definitely don't want ending up on a card or journal page. Same thing with dictionary and thesaurus pages. Gotta make sure there's nothing inappropriate.

    • @annekenlon
      @annekenlon  Год назад

      Isn't that the truth! Sometimes I am shocked at the content in old history books - outright racism - I have no problem at all throwing those books out, out out! Fortunately there is plenty of wonderful content we can craft with, too! Thanks for being vigilant!

    I love this, what a great idea. I brought a magazine and matte tape with me to work to try at lunch time. I wonder if it would work to leave the tape on the page and peel off when you're ready to use it? This way you could still make some ahead of time and they would store easier? Or maybe put them in a mixed media book to flatten out after peeling them off?
