I’m IN LIVE with your tags ❤. I’ve been saving junk mail envelopes for awhile now so I have many and different sizes 😮. I’m ready to play 👍🏻😃. Do you have videos for the envelopes that have windows? If so I’d love to see them too 💕
Karen, thanks for your sweet message. I'm sorry someone else was critical of a typo! You're just fine! (and I do make pockets for window envelopes - I'll do a video on that soon as I need more pockets!)
Enjoyed this ...I like adding more items to my tags so I probably would of added one more item to the tags maybe something like a piece washi tape on both of them probably run it down the side on the folded side....thats just me...I know you wanted to keep it on the simple side..still loved your video easy to listen to and watch...Im new here..but am an old time journalist...who is getting back in the game...been collecting envelopes...for this project...
Thanks for watching, Linda! Yes, you can customize to make them as simple or as detailed as you want. I just loved that fold-over-the-front feature. I'm also an old-time journalist! Got into the business communications game in the 90s and finished my career in corporate America.
Nice use of junk mail. I like the back wrapping around to the front. Journaling length wise on the front would be different. Thank you for using the Harry and David images. I lean more into JUNk journals and less into the treasure books ( mostly digitalis and purchased papers and embellishments). Examples of upcycled supplies and inspiration are harder to find. That has garnered you a new subscriber.💜🐞
Oh my, it never even occurred to me that the wrap-around portion on the front could be additional journaling space! I was thinking of it only as a design feature along that side, but you're right - it could be a fun way to squeeze in some more thoughts! Thanks so much for sharing that! And thanks for subscribing (I'm with you on the digitals and purchased stuff - I'd much rather use free, true "junk"!!)
Thanks for your nice feedback. Yes, I rarely use purchased digitals. Sometimes I buy them when I want to support a specific shop or RUclipsr, but I really don't like using kits - there's too much free stuff already out there! Thanks for watching!
Good afternoon Anne! I see you're a new RUclips creator like me. I'm not sure how I show up on your end but my channel is Patty's Paper Designs. I like to support new RUclips creators because I know how hard it is to get subscribers, likes and comments. Anyway you just gained a new subscriber 😊 I have a ton of junk mail. I've made some things with it, but I need to make more. I'll give your Tage idea a go. Yours turned out really nice. BTW my middle name is Anne. Take care and I will look for your next video 😊🤗❤
Patty, thank you so much! How kind of you to reach out! Yes, I'm new - and I'm just having fun with it. I'm scooting right over to your channel, too, and I look forward to seeing your great ideas! Let's stay in touch!
Hi! I found you & subscribed in your Faux Washi tape video, now I'm watching some others! Thank you for explaining about the different glues - I've been wondering about the "glitter glue" everyone keeps talking about - you finally explained it (very well) by saying there's no glitter in it - that's just a name brand! Also - for glue sticks, I've been using an Elmer's glue stick that I got at Walmart - I didn't see the Scotch brand glue stick there. Is Elmer's ok to use, or should I try to find the Scotch brand glue stick?? Oh - another question - I noticed you're using a ruler to tear your paper, instead of scissors - do you need a special kind of ruler for that?? I have just a plain, purple plastic ruler and I don't know if that would work. Thanks! I'm new to journaling - I took it up after my son had a major heart attack at the end of July - it helps me work through my thoughts - and then in the process, I discovered Junk Journals! I love that you can take "trash" (junk mail, mac & cheese boxes, etc) and make something useful - or even beautiful - with it! And that is kind of therapy in itself.
Thanks for this thoughtful note! I'm not convinced that Scotch brand is necessarily the best glue stick - I've just used it from habit over recent years, but frankly it's gotten a lot more expensive lately, so I bought Uhu brand last time I stocked up. Definitely use your Elmer's and see how it works for you! Also, you don't need a special ruler for tearing - any sort of straightedge is fine, as long as it works for you! Some folks have special deckle-edge "tearing rulers" but I don't need anything that fancy! I'm delighted you have found this wonderful hobby and I wish the very best for your son's ongoing recovery - and to you, as well - take care of yourself!
oh wow - thank you so much for your very kind reply! I wasn't sure if my comment would even be seen, since this video was done a month ago - I truly appreciate you taking the time to answer my questions, and I will definitely follow your advice! I appreciate the well-wishes, also! My only brother died from a heart attack at 38 yrs old - a year younger than my son is now - and it was the exact same kind of heart attack! So it was especially traumatic and frightening for me. The doctors can't explain how my son is still here - the cardiologist said 99% of people who suffer the "widow-maker" don't survive, and those who do, are usually the ones who get treated/stents within about 90 minutes. It was a week and a half before my son got his stents! I'm just so very grateful - some days I'm not sure if I'm crying because of how close I came to losing him, or because I'm so thankful I still have more time with him! And I really am loving the whole junk journal world I've discovered - I feel like Alice in Wonderland and I've just fallen down the best rabbit hole ever! I especially enjoy the videos that are easy to understand (like yours!) and don't require a lot of expensive tools or pricey kits - unfortunately, I don't have the money to buy all the fancy stuff - but I have a blast with projects you can make with stuff you can find around the house! I had so much fun last night making your faux washi tape (such a creative and unique idea!), and I made 2 of your awesome junk mail envelope tags today! It brings back so many happy memories of when I was a kid, and I'd be sprawled out on the floor, surrounded by my crayons, papers, scissors, glitter & glue! It's not much different now, other than I would have more trouble getting up off the floor, LOL - so I use a desk now! I am really looking forward to watching more of your fantastic videos! Thank you again, and have a wonderful & blessed day! @@annekenlon
Brenda, it's super easy. You just take an old gift card or hotel key card, cut off a corner at the angle you like for a tag, and use it as a template. If you don't have a plastic card handy, a small rectangle of card stock or a piece of a food box (thin cardboard) will also do. Then you can either hold it up next to your tag and cut along the edge, as you've seen me do, or draw a line and then cut on the line. Make sense?
Really glad my niece shared your channel with me😊 love this idea!
I'm so delighted to have you here! Thanks for watching! I publish twice a week (usually Tuesday and Friday mornings) - it'll be fun to have you along!
You’re the best, my sister!! I enjoyed this!
Thank you, dear sister of mine!!! This was one of the early ones I did, and I really did have fun with it!

Cool idea .. Just tossed my Saturday junk mail away. .I got to go back and pull out those envelopes now. Just subscribed!

great idea, thanks. Quick question, where are you located, I live in Shawnee, KS. Would love it to have someone close.
I'm in Oregon! I know what you mean about wanting to find near-by crafters. I'm sort of in a vacuum here myself!
Cute idea
