Brisbane Test Day 5 - The India Daily by The Final Word

- One of the great Test series comes to an end: Australia and India at the Gabba, right down to the last few overs of the fifth day, as India prevailed 2-1 to win a second consecutive series in Australia. Rishabh Pant, Cheteshwar Pujara, Washington Sundar, Shubman Gill, they all played their parts up against ferocity from Pat Cummins and Josh Hazlewood. A classic in every sense. Geoff and Adam are at the Gabba a few minutes after play, capturing what was so very special about this series.

"See you at Gabba"
😂😂😂
He was being kind...
I saw this same comment of yours in a different channel, isn't it? You've posted this in some other channel right
India replied by saying "we saw you through Gabba!" . The fortress has been breached...

Yeah
Loyal Indian cricket fans who have gone through all those gruesome childhood traumas of test matches & series lost in Australia, where totals of 200 were rare, batting collapses happened every game, missed tricks, ordinary bowling, sometimes even Bucknor spoiling the curry, when you watched India lose games with your dad, & a gloom taking over the house, to have gone through all this, one knew India would eventually lose 1-2 today. This is a miracle, to say the least.
The win in 2018 under Kohli made me feel pumped, but at the back of the mind you knew we would get back to losing once Australia fields full strength. This win makes you cry, a depleted side trumping the mighty Aussies. Classic underdog success story.
This is NEW INDIA, not just in terms of cricket, but as a nation turning 75, brushing off our colonial baggage & self-loathing, we are coming.
yes !!
" We are coming , and we are coming strong !! "
This is the story of generations from the 80s and 90s. Deliverance at last!
Pretty right bro..........
Well written Mudit. I totally echo your sentiments. i'm 44 and I saw India struggle against Australia in 1991/92, 1999/2000 and later too. The 2003-04 draw was very satisfying at that time for me, but I they were without McGrath and Warne then, and that made the series a "bit" easier for India (i'm taking nothing away from Rahul Dravid and Ajit Agarkar in Adelaide). 2007-08 was again disappointing, and let's not even talk about the 4-0 drubbing we got in 2011-12. Since then we've shown some fight, but oh how satisfying is this one. I cannot get enough of it.
Well said bruh!
"Over my dead body character" would best suit Pujara. What an attitude! My word!
Pujara soaked up the aggression from Australian bowler's to make it easy for the fellow batsman and that's give them the chance to play natural game.
He was so tough.
Thanks so much for the whole series. It's been a brilliant series of test cricket (the best I can ever remember), and having found this podcast has added to my enjoyment of it. Much respect, kudos and thanks.
Glad you're into it, Andy.
Yeah this is best example for younger generation to get real taste of test cricket. This series is incredible
i dont mean to be so off topic but does anyone know a method to get back into an Instagram account..?
I stupidly forgot my password. I appreciate any tips you can offer me!
The best part is they are pronouncing indian players name pretty good.
That's our job, and we take it seriously. Thanks.
The Final Word cricket podcast maybe Kerry o’keefe and Shane warne should take some notes..
Unlike Inzamam.. funny in a way
"See you at Gabba"- Paine 🤣
They saw 'em alright 😎
No, see u in India paine, if ur still in the team 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Now paine in lot of pain and the worst part is that he is yet to come in India
@@badonirakesh1 you think he will be in the squad till than, i don't think so 😂🤣😂
@Darwin 2004 India's 36 all out was a hint to him that he is going to retire at 36! He dint get it😂
that six from rahane just sent a massive signal that we are here to win. Gill was just playing his game without any target in his mind but rahane set the tone for the day. phew how lucky we are to witness this game in information era.
You guys failed to mention the miracle of the rain staying away given the forecast, which allowed us to witness this great match.
Cheteshwar Pujara batted for 1200 minutes on last tour and this time too, even though he scored nearly half of runs he scored on previous tour but has done the job for india very well, new WALL of india.
Boss
He is mountevrest of cricket
@@pushpendragiri5473 undoubtedly i see both pujara and Rahane both reminds me of Rahul Dravid, it is also bcz of him bcz he is the Head coach of U-19 indian cricket team. How he found talents like Rishabh Pant, Samson, Washington, Shivam mavi, nagarkotti, etc
@@arshkumar3004 have you ever seen Rahane playing fluently,I have always seen him struggling but whenever there's no one standing than he is the one who stands up take the responsibility I don't expect him to be consistent Like Virat Kohli and Pujara I knew he will struggle against Swing bcz of he doesn't have the footwork to survive in England but Just wait it's a long series.
You will be regularly followed guys. Good luck for SA in the late summer.
+1
love your podcast.please continue this for ind vs eng series also.
Ok, we're thinking about it.
@@FinalWordCricket What you have just mentioned d simultaneous thing of thinking both draw n win in that Pujara-Gill partnership I was thinking d same in that partnership..
@@FinalWordCricket do it. Dont think about it. We love you guys. You deserve a million subs.
@@FinalWordCricket That'd be awesome! Please do consider. I'll follow for sure :)
I was so excited by India's remarkable win today that I watched at least 25 videos and analyses. But by far this was the best analyses - unbiased, crisp and informative. Great job both of you !!!!
Loved your show guys throughout the series. See you guys in the next series. Lots of love from India.
I bow down to the entire INDIAN CRICKET TEAM...ladko you have made us proud...This is as big as the 2011 world cup win..and it feels like the Republic Day came early..🇮🇳🇮🇳🇮🇳Vande Mataram
Loved the podcast, we need something like this in India
Same old boring pundits in India.
Sorabh Pant, Neville Shah, Gaurav kapoor etc have such podcasts.
@@Maddy-ht8pg they try too hard and scream
Screamed. Cried. Rejoiced. No words to describe our feelings. A privilege to witness this live!
This series deserves a documentary. If you guys do plan to make it may be we all can start a patreon
I started waking up at 5:30 in cold mornings due to this series and now I got that good habit.
What a gem of a commentary. Thank you guys for bring this up!
Thanks for watching :)
Graceful review even when I know as an Aussie it hurts to get Gabbatoir breached! But lemme tell you this team is battle hardened: Siraj lost his father, suffered racial abuse still stayed, Natarajan did not see his baby and comes from a poor family, Shardul Thakur travelled up and down from Palaghar to Mumbai everyday to play Cricket in local train, and finally Pant, who lost his father fairly early which reflected in his resolve! All in all wonderful series! Keep on doing the good work! Upwards and Onwards folks!
Gabba should have a Pujara statue. Gold standard.
A gold statue?
@@FinalWordCricket Gold- playing std. , Not theGold statue
India will miss you both the guys ..meet you in next India series... love from India 🇮🇳🇮🇳
Adam Collins, Jeff - I am very excited and happy to see your analysis. Very beautiful folks.
Thank you kindly!
Don't miss Geoff's write-ups in the Guardian as well. They're brilliant!

This is one of the day best analysis shows for the whole tour. No fancy graphics or anything else. But, the amount of sense they talk is awesome.
Love you guys!
I absolutely loved their attitude - I agree.
Prior to this match, I felt India lacks killer instinct. Today my proud countrymen played such a special one. I can't imagine another thriller series like this. What a match. What a series

Absolutely amazing. I have never seen such a thrilling test series. Thanks to both the teams for showing us this spectacle.
Love and blessing from india gujarat🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
The Gabba test is the first ever test match I watched in the stadium, just felt so lucky and so special, i was so tired after the match but still i couldn’t sleep on that night🏏♥️
"If we give them an Inch, they'll go a Mile", Paine said after the Adelaide debacle, eventually Team India ended up running a Marathon.
A wise man once said " come to Gabba " the rest is history.
One of the many delights of this incredible tour has been watching your podcasts after each progressively more bafflingly brilliant day. Thank you to the both of you, will keep watching.
That's nice to know, thank you.
Adam and Harsha combo should continue for lifetime. By the way, this podcast was lit too. Continue with the great work Collins.
Great work guys - these daily summaries have been the perfect companion to an absolutely top shelf series!

Not to forget pants 100 vs england in england in the 4 th innings , he is something really special
As usual, love your work guys! Was lucky enough able to follow you guys in this historic series! Keep going!
300 runs doesn't get chase too often, memorable victory.

Thanks for covering this test series Adam and Jeff.
I’ve watched every video and it has been great listening to your take and your humour guys.
Hope you reach great heights with the channel.
Going to miss your videos.
There have been many podcasts which I listened to or saw during Border-Gavaskar trophy, in my opinion THE FINAL WORD CRICKET PODCAST was the best one which I came to know in the past few months. Totally in love with the way you guys- Geoff & Adam- present this show. Simple, concise, respectful & appreciative to all parties involved. Cheers mate, keep it up.
Thanks a lot, that's very kind of you.
It's been absolute pleasure to watch both of you talk about the game so passionately.

Thank you for this India Daily podcasts series guys, really enjoyed❤️
This podcast is so good man...ball by ball discussion...perfect pronounciation...notes...rich content!!!❤️
Collins you are to the point and so quick in summarizing with all small key factors
Great show. So upset with Australia loss. Should never have happened no matter how good India batted. We have to remember we bowled this same team out for 36 yes 36 yet we relaxed and let them rebuild there confidence and came back and bite us.. its a sad day for Australian cricket.. now I have to listen to Indian media and Indians thinking they have just won the biggest game in the history of cricket bigger than any world Cup... I hate India but have to say what a great side there young talent with no experience look brilliant and somehow full of confidence.. amazing
That was a bunch of fun (almost) everyday episodes! Quality stuff 🔥
Amazing analysis, seeing for the first time and I have thoroughly enjoyed and will be following your broadcasts in the future. Jeff has good knowledge of cricket history and also some nice insights on the game. Adam with his enthusiasm is highly engaging.

Every match of this roller coaster series has a new Indian hero springing up out of nowhere!
Nobody is talking about subhman Gill's 91 in just 146 balls. He and Rishabh are two heros of match. Not only just Rishabh

I first came to know of adam Colins in the match day reviews he did with harsha bhogle during the 2018 england series think that was the first stint. Knew about this podcast only during this season and glad to say have been following every day after the match. Such level headed analysis. Adam Collins special mention for the passion you show about cricket the energy is unparalleled. The other host lemon(hope I am spelling it right) is also good.
