It was also explained in Loki tv series that he ever tried to divert from the path of mischief and wanted to be good it would create a nexus point, and he would be sent to the void because the purpose of Loki as explained by one of the agents is to cause chaos so others can rise to be the better version of themselves. In the void you can see countless variants of Loki some good some bad all sent to the nexus by TVA (Time Variant Authority) because they divert from their chosen path.
I can assume from the dialogue they made a plan and when Thor said “LOKI NOW” it was to cover Jane while a blast the reality stone with all my might? Him showing that his hand was never actually cut off was not why Thor said that as it was just an illusion meaning it was always there.
Loki doesn’t gaf about Jane or anyone else for that matter at that point he just wanted a way out his prison and made the best of it.

This is the best version of Loki out of all Thor movies and the new Disney plus show. Here he has that mysterious aura, has authority, seems menacing, plans few steps ahead and has the right amount of wit and humour. Thor Ragnarok and the new Loki show just straightway turned him into a clown who is used for comic relief for every 5 minutes.
Thor Ragnarok maybe , but the new show doesn't depict him as a Clown, it's literally his own show and he's not the same Loki as you see in the movies that's came after 2013, since in the show he learns that infinity stones don't work in TVA and saw how would his life eventually turn out, he accepts that fate ,so just want to be helpful for TVA and thereby doesn't need to be Authoritative, menacing,etc.

The movie is very factually incorrect, the Norse believed that all nine worlds (Alfheim *where elves lived*, Jotunheim*where giants live*, Midgard*human reality* , etc) were on the tree named Yggdrasil, therefore the stone in this film would just destroy Midgard leaving Nidavellir *Where dwarves live* and all the rest unharmed and absolutely fine. To further my point this movie makes no sense is that the only way for all 9 worlds to be in serious danger would for it to be Ragnarok (Doomsday) and all the heroes from Valhalla (A Paradise for people who died doing a selfless act and saving people just as they died) would come charging to fight everything evil causing Ragnarok. As well as this, Fenris Wolf (An Invulnerable Wolf) is captured on an island and his releasing would cause Ragnarok , yet there is no Fenris in this movie series. Or Loki would have to make the ship Naglfar (the ship of nails, constructed of dead peoples toenails and fingernails if they were not burnt when a person died) set sail, yet he did not as we saw him the whole time.
There are many other reasons as to WHY this movie is incorrect, like the 'only the worthy can lift Thor's Hammer' thing. But I will leave that to you if you want to research Norse mythology.
You are right, except this isn't Norse mythology. This is a comic book story where aliens lived among humans and passed on their culture.
Plus, if you want to get into history, you might realize we actually know jack shit about norse mythology, since most of the documents we have were written by people from other cultures, much later.

In Norse Mythology, Loki is the god of trickery and illusion (in addition to fire). I know MCU takes a lot of creative liberties when transporting their characters from myth -> comics, but I love that they kept this aspect of him and represented it so well. My jaw dropped when he sliced the hand off, but I laughed triumphantly when the trick was revealed!
It sucks that this is considered the not-as-good Thor movie, cause Christopher Eccleston is a freaking GOD of an actor
It's definitely better than Thor 1, but Ragnarok is one of the best MCU films. Period.

He did what he has done in Thor and Avengers 1 because he was abused .. he felt hated from his own father.. the man who raised him up.
I wanted him to feel proud. Just go and watch the final scene in thor .. when loki fell off the bridge. His eyes were really looking for hope that his father may show him some love but no, all he got was hate. He let go thor's hand by his free will thinking it is over. But when he was found and saved.. he came back to revenge all this hate from weaker ones.
After Thor has become more responsible.. mature and showed loki his love, and after his mother death . He remembered who he really was and he had a really good reason to be on Thor's same side.. That is why he saved Jane.

@@deljorel You could blame him for Jotunheim, but not for his actions on Midgard. It is stated in the script that the mind stone was controlling hin just as much as he was controlling Hawkeye and Selvig.
As for the Jotunheim ordeal though, I mean it's not much different from what Thor attempted at the start of the movie so it's hardly a case for him being irredeemable.

Did Thor go to see Loki whilst Loki was in the cell? No, did Thor try to find out what drove Loki to do what he did? No. 0 support whatsoever.
Thor: The Dark World, who was willing to sacrifice their life for their brother and a woman he had only just met? Loki. Who died? Loki. Did Thor bring back his body to have a proper funeral? No, he took himself and Jane back and left Loki there, all alone and stranded.
Thor: Ragnarok, who came back and saved the day for Asgard? It was Loki, did Thor even truly say thankyou to Loki for that, was Thor truly appreciative of that? Not really.
Avengers: Infinity War: who sacrificed his own life for his brother once again? Loki did, and Thor sheds a few tears goes back to his ship, leaving Loki there to perish in the flames all alone again, no proper funeral, and seemed more upset that his best friend died than his own brother.
No offence but Thor is a pretty awful brother tbh. He never tried to understand Loki’s pain and suffering, yet it was always Loki sacrificing his own life to save Thor, we have never truly seen it the other way around.
@Lowkey Loki Loki never truly wanted to kill Thor, he just wanted to be seen as his equal, which is why he would put up a good fight with him, he wanted to have that love, adoration, loyalty and attention that Thor got from Odin, he wanted that too, and he thought his only way of being able to get that is to prove that he was worthy of being a king, he didn’t want to kill Thor, harm? Yes, but kill? Absolutely not. If Loki truly wanted to see Asgard perish, then why would he go to those lengths to try and save it in The Dark World and Ragnarok?. Thor barely did anything for Loki, Loki was the one who put in the most effort with Thor, all because he wanted to be loved, appreciated and respected. Loki was never the villain, he was just misunderstood with a lot of suffering and pain.
