My earliest memories were of riding in our 47 Dodge fluid drive car.It was the same color was the one here. My Dad built a shelf somy brother and I could look out the window while travelling to California.
My dad bought a new one in 1947, the best top of the line model sedan, I was a young boy but recall it very well and the sound of the electric wipers when I first heard him use them, a option on Dodge, and also the dash that was beautiful, but not shown here, with a dashboard speedometer lens light, that at night changed colors as you sped up with head lights on, at higher speeds it turned red, I don't recall the lower speed colors, but there where 3 different colors at various speeds, also the 1951 Ford's had a speedometer that changed colors with lights on, but only in 1951 on Fords, not on Merc's or Lincoln's.
este coche lo tuvo mi padre es un excelente vehículo con una potencia inmejorables es pura chapa y consume como undescocido pero es una joya de las de antes
what was the advantage of suicide doors? did they make it easier to get in the back? wouldn't they make it easier to brush a coat or dress against the grease on the door hinges? suicide doors, yeah open it without looking and an impact will crush the passenger getting out. am I obsessing?
beautiful car, but that's the best you can do? most people have no idea how simplamtic transmission works. I'm always interested in a new interpretation. we need to teach the kids...

This is the car that my father had when I was born, or at least the first one that I remember. Big and faded maroon.
My dad had a black 48 Plymouth in the early sixties then a black 55 Plymouth with red trim in the mid sixties 👍🏻🇦🇺MOPAR for life .

Nice, hopefully it's been preserved as is.
My dad put bolts through the torque converter to make it a full stick.
Would have been better if we could have seen the engine and interior. Gotta love those suicide doors

omit all thoughts
These and DeSotos were very popular with cab drivers . So all a cabbie had to do was turn around and open the rear door .
From a side view it looks like a Chrysler and a DeSoto
