This is an extremely nice, unrestored original 1942 Dodge sedan. It has a 6 cylinder with a 3-speed column shift. Engine and transmission has not been rebuilt. Drives extremely well. 28,718 original miles. It has been an extremely well-cared for car all of it's life, as far as I know. Rust-free. All gauges work. Valve job in 2009. Carburetor rebuild. It was painted once 20 years ago. Driver's side floor mat is damaged. There's a small hole in the headliner, passenger side, rear seat.

Any Dodge that squeaked out before WWII. is special. Love the way the hood can be raised on either side.

The motor starts without any effort. You can hear the engine purring. Wonderfully kept car. I sure hope the new owner takes good care of it. Thank you for sharing.

Agreed 100%. It's well known that 1947 to 1952 Chrysler products 'wore like iron' . They were incredibly tough and reliable.
I hope it found a respectful home, owner and garage to sleep in!

OMG What a rare car! 1942 cars came out in September 1941 and production was ended in January 1942 due to the Attack on Pearl Harbor and the USA entry into WWII. BEAUTIFUL!!!!!

When I was a kid, a friend's family had a Dodge of this era (I think '41). They were the original owners and had had it for many years. When they purchased it, they were unwilling to pay the price for the optional clock. So, in place of a clock, the car came with a picture of FDR. It was still there, well into the 60's when I saw it.

Now this is a rare one. Not too many of these in this year model were built. This was obviously built in Late 1941, because all automotive productions ended in February 1942 during World War II and there were no more cars being built until October 1945.

It must have been built in late 1941 for the 42 year model? I was under the assumption they ceased building cars excepting for military and moved to building war vehicles. Either way, it is an awesome survivor

In the mid-70's in Waco, TX I would see a '42 Dodge this exact same color and pretty much same condition, but it was the body style that didn't have the vent window in the "C" pillar but in the back of the rear doors--I had a '41 Chrysler Royal with the same body style and it was called a Town Sedan. I've always wished I'd checked on it, it was at a garage type place and I never knew what became of it.

Sadly from 2030 on all combustion cars including classics will be banned
from public streets in entire EU and Scandinavia :-( In Germany the
Green Peoples Party gave order to shorten fuel supply from 2025
on by reducing all conventional fuel stations to only one state operated central gas
station per city or county. Now they want to slow down all the gas station fuel
pumps from 20 litre per minute to 2 litre per minute...From 2027 on in
the EU certain car spare parts will be banned too....as exhaust systems,
turbo chargers and even some engine and gearbox oils...California and
New York will do the same from 2027 on.... So no investments should be
done in oil burning cars any longer....They even created a new kind of
crime here, called emissions and smoke crime :-(/
