  • August 10 was a hot day in Streator, Illinois. Temperatures in the afternoon soared into the nineties, with the heat index peaking at 106 degrees. Another characteristic of this sultry Monday in Streator was the rail traffic, or lack thereof. Despite having been in town since a tad after 10:00 AM, only two trains and an idle breeze had been through Streator by 12:30. Traffic surged between 1 and 3, until a tornadic storm began to loom over the western sky, wind picked up, and temperatures dropped. This particular eastbound auto move stood out from the rest of the rush period, a trail of orange GEVOs and intermodals, due to the presence of UP 6757 at the point, an early AC4400CW sporting low-mounted ditch lights and number boards positioned on its wide nose.

Nice videos sir. Not sure if you’re from IL or not but as a Streator resident sometime if are back I’d happily help ya let know when the NS comes crossing the diamond. The NS local is a fun catch to watch as well
