They seem awesome! Hope to see twins later. Hey man, just wanted to say thank you for doing these reviews and im surprised you don't have a patreon. The amount of content variety(gloves) and quality of your reviews probably helps out so many people in making informed decisions. We trust you!
Windy is pretty much the original, founded in 1951. Thai Smai was established in 1960. Sandee was established in 1977. Twins came from Windy in 1992. King & Top King came from Twins. Top King was the later of those 2, founded in 2009. Yokkao was founded in 2010. Since Windy started selling on Ringside/Combat Sports in 2006, they always had different models for the US market than their standard Thai market glove. Their original Thai market velcro gloves (BGV/BGVH) remained mainly unchanged for over a decade. The pair I bought around 2010 was the old model. The latex came packed so hard, it felt like it was filled with plastic. Once loosened up, the padding had almost the consistency of Bayfill (thinking those Top Ten rubber headgear used in amateurs). Those gloves were bulletproof, heard stories of them lasting over 5 years of daily use. Unfortunately, I never made it that far, the thumb placement caused me to sprain both of my thumbs multiple times in under 3 rounds of use. I sold them the day they arrived. This model you're reviewing appears to be the new Proline (according to their website), hence all the design changes. They look like they'd be a lot more comfortable than their old standard model. I wonder if their durability is still bulletproof. (sorry for late comment)
I ordered mine today. I hope they fit well, especially on the finger tip pocket cuz i got longer fingers. The extra padding is exactly what im looking for. A more traditional boxing glove with muay thai features 😍
Sorry for answering a year later... I ordered mine directly from windy, so they sent them straight from Thailand to germany, where i live. I got mine in 18oz, but the actually weight 15oz. They Look really huge and are more roomier than most Thai gloves. Especially to the sides. My Handy length fit perfectly in the gloves. But I Do like my gloves a little wider. I also got an 10oz muay Thai gloves from windy and windy gloves are more wider than most Thai Brands. Theyre my Brand to go when it comes to boxing gear. Ill be in Thailand in december and cant wait to try out their newest model
Appreciate all your reviews, they're super helpful. I did have a few questions if you wouldn't mind answering. 1. How have the Fly Superlace X's held up after usage? 2. Will you ever do a review on the Rival RS100 Professional Sparring Gloves, I would love to see your take of a review on them!
Thanks for another awesome review man, I’ve been giving some serious thought about getting a pair of these for awhile now, so thanks again bro the good information on fight gear it’s really invaluable. 💯
Thanks for all the reviews! I know this is an old video, but it is useful to me even now. I would like your recommendation, though. These seem to be great for larger hands, good grip bar, and decent wrist support. All are high on my priority list. Is there another that you’d recommend more than these for a training kickboxing glove? Or does this take the cake Thanks. I’d tip but I’d don’t see the donate button!
I got mine in the mail about a month ago and they were 14.6 and 15. The scales in Thailand might be off, but it’s a still a quality glove and I’m happy with them.
Hey man great review, I bought them today because of your review, I love them so far, but are these good for sparring?? Since the padding seems quite hard and stiff, I tried the regular windy gloves at the store as well and the pading there was much softer. I bough the pro line though because overall they are nicer, but what do you think about the padding?
After seeing your review i bought a pair of BGP'S. Was pleased with the build quality but the wrist support did let me down a little bit. Also the liner on my left glove was really loose to the point that it got in between my fingers. I liked the overal robustness of the glove and quality feel it gave but sold them after a short time of use. The padding in the palm also got in the way of making a full fist. Like you said this is an hybrid glove leaning more to the muay-thay side. Thanks for the review and good luck with your channel!🥊
Hey thanks for all the reviews and info on so many gloves :) Would you suggest these guys at 16oz, their version without the padded palm at 160z (if you've tried them) or the Fairtex BGV9 16oz to use almost exclusively for sparring? I have a set of BGV14 12oz that I use for bag stuff and really like their fit but interested in the comparison between the BVG9 vs Windys. Thanks again. Love the channel!
I went looking for these cuz I don't have enough glove and they are discontinuing this colorway. anyway I blame you for my glove addiction. lol have a blessed day, brother
You should do a review on their new pro boxing series equipment. I bought the whole set on a huge discount which was a steal with 30% off and 10% off on top. The new pro boxing series gloves are amazing and comparable to winnings but with better wrist support. Winning are more emphasized on knuckles.
@Tavito Silva did you get them in 10 oz?what do you think of them?(btw if you dont mind me asking just to guide me cause i can get the 10 oz on sale, how big are you)
Very similar leather but different in the hand compartment which is a little roomier than top king and twins. Pro line is also structured more like a traditional boxing glove with better wrist support and longer cuff.
Would you say that the hand compartment is between a Twins BGVL and a Fairtex BGV1 ( both 16oz)? Because for me, the former felt too tight while the latter feels a bit loose. TIA.
@@csquaredboxing have you looked into KO fighting gear? they're based in New Jersey. are primarily known for their craftsmanship. a sorta windy background where they dont advertise as much. thanks keep them vids coming.
Thai gloves are not very comfy in the thumb area. Fairtex is the best of em all. I have medium sized hands. Raja/yokkao/windy.. all of em dont have a natural closed fist. Fairtex has the better closed fist. My experience is that true boxing gloves ..like say Ringside imf tech, titles , sabas have a much more natural closed fist and fit a whole lot more comfy than thai brands Whats your take on that Carlo?
Traditional boxing gloves definitely tend to be more comfortable and put more of an emphasis on proper fist closure/ placement/ comfort than Thai gloves. The sports are different so I understand why thai style gloves are designed the way they are with a shorter cuff, more padding throughout, and the thai leather being very stiff initially. You’re dealing with punches, kicks, elbows, knees, clinching, etc in Muay Thai, so the gloves are designed to protect in that nature.
@csquaredboxing How's the quality? I've been looking at their gloves, lace up, for muay thai, but unsure of their quality control... Is this one made in Pakistan or legit made in Thailand? Keep up the good work man, love your videos!!
the padding is for partner drills, catching punches, kicks, knees and etc, these gloves are very popular in Holland where kickboxing is king.
Awesome insight thanks for letting us know that! 🙏🏼🥊

I appreciate the kind words and do the reviews because I enjoy it, hopefully people can benefit from it before they make a purchase 😁🤙🏼
I like the windy logo that includes the Muay Thai fighter on his knees doing the cobra dance. If I ever buy windy it has to include that character.

💪💪💪 a great feature of this glove is the thumb protection - the extra foam beside the index finger. Man. Awesome
Realy nice and good gloves men for a low price and high quality. 👍🏻

Thanks man! The fly x held up well and didn’t have any issues with them in my glove rotation. The RS100 will be coming soon hopefully by end of year.
Finally !!! Thanks for the review!
Yes! No problem!
Can you do more muay Thai gloves reviews bro

Windy has always been my fav Thai boxing brand. Been making gloves before twins, Fairtex and YOKKAO. Ahead of their time
Bought a 12oz pair and they weigh 13.2 and 13.6. They might be cutting cost and making them all in one size...
I got mine in the mail about a month ago and they were 14.6 and 15. The scales in Thailand might be off, but it’s a still a quality glove and I’m happy with them.

Thanks man! You have to break these in quite a bit before I would use them for sparring as the layered foam is a bit stiff at first.
Awesome vid bro. Which one do you think is better, boon or windy gloves? Why?

I would go with the bgv9 tbh
Awesome review! when are you gonna post the review for the Twins gloves?
Thanks! Tomorrow!
Great reviews man!
I'm looking for a 12oz pair for bag and pad work. What you'd suggest betweeen these Windy Proline and Bgv9 Fairtex? Thanks
Same question
another good review, very informative thank you

Which windy do you guys think is most suited for Boxing? BGV or BGP?
Waiting for your review of the Punch Equipment Fuerte Ultra's!
Coming this week!
I can confirm these are great gloves. I love mine 👍

Can I ask where you bought yours?

Thanks I appreciate it! 🙏🏼
Great review as always! can you get your hands on a pair of Boon gloves for a review?
Thanks and yes hopefully soon
@@csquaredboxing Awesome! who you got for the fight tonight? Fury for me :) 7th round stoppage. 🍻
Again t-shirt and glive in color tone 👊 😀
Thanks!
Nice another video👍🏼
Thanks!
Would this be a good 10oz glove for pad and bag work? Any other 10oz glove that you would recommend?
Yes they would. Another glove at 10 ounce would be the Boxeo TM gloves or no boxing no life
@Tavito Silva did you get them in 10 oz?what do you think of them?(btw if you dont mind me asking just to guide me cause i can get the 10 oz on sale, how big are you)

How is the original site of Windy ?

Windy lace up mexican style gloves please
Do you collect gloves or just review them?
Both
Good idea to do a top 5 boxing gloves and top 5 thai gloves video. :)
Coming at the end of the year! 😎
Can they be used for sparring?
Yes they can

I am trying to decide between the Fairfax lace up Glory and the Windy Mexican syle lace up for Boxing.
Any opinion?

nice review

@csquaredboxing How's the quality? I've been looking at their gloves, lace up, for muay thai, but unsure of their quality control... Is this one made in Pakistan or legit made in Thailand?
Keep up the good work man, love your videos!!
They’re very nice and made in Thailand for sure, leather is Thai quality as well as stitching
How are these model compared to the BGVH model?
Haven’t tried the bgvh yet so couldn’t tell you
It looks like the palm padding would block clinching
could regular boxers use these gloves ? for sparring even ?
Yes
Windy vs Twins, which one is better?
Depends on model
