- Gold Level: More difficult, take heavy damage and lot enemies on Missions. (Harder)
I skip after dead/fail for lose heart on bottom left and keep going watch last checkpoint.
I dead/fail after too much heavy damage for hard avoid or spin shield a small chance and without lose any crew team.
I tired not make a top score so harder but time is low score but some hit most points and too slow I afraid. I never play this game for age.
Not emulator from computer this real world and tv recorded.

Underrated game. The campaign may have been short, but the production values, range of weapons, character art design, voice direction and mulyiplayer above all were brilliant.

It's been years, but I still think General Pepper begging you to shoot him is still the weirdest thing I've ever seen in a nintendo game.
This game had a great soundtrack and would've been overall better if it had at least 5 more missions. Still had a blast playing it.
It could of been longer if the GC had bigger CDs
The thing is, I can actually see how five more missions would come about. Peppy's reactions when we see the Aparoids for the first time have the implication that he's faced them before. And Beltino confirms for us that yes, the Aparoids have been a threat before. Flashback mission time! - and of course, plot elements introduced in the flashbacks get resolved in the present.

Why does nobody ever talk about this game and they always talk about Star Fox Adventures?

Probably because it's lazy. The voice acting, story, characterization, enemy -- they're all bland and unexciting. While there are lots of problems with Adventures, blandness is not one of them.
+NerdilyDone this had the better voice acting than star fox adventure better graphics of course the storyline was ok but starfox adventures didn't feel like a real starfox game it felt like some other shit this to me is the true starfox sequel this game was good
Meh, I disagree. You can say that this had "better" voice acting, but it was still pretty lazy. Likewise, they didn't even bother making this a multiple pathway game, and options was always a primary characteristic of good Star Fox games.

This game was a big part of my childhood. I have not seen gameplay of it in years. When I tapped on this and heard the music, I was like: "It's time." Thanks.
Now this, should have been an anime series. Would have had elements of action adventure, ski fi, romance for all you FoxxKrystal shippers, and even elements of comedy.

I remember going to Walmart as a 9 year old kid and heading to the electronics department to try this game out on the GameCube demo, but there was this 14 year old girl playing, and man, watching her play she was a pro! She cleared the two levels easily like it was nothing. Needless to say I was impressed and watched in awe.

Hard to believe this was a GC title. This was impressive for the time, and it still holds up!
This game is soooo underrated. I think this was the evolution path that the star fox franchise should follow to be on top again. The design. The plot. Even the graphics evolution was incredible.
I love starfox! its like star wars with animals but the story is still captivating. Kudos to doing this on gold...i'm doing it on silver and BARELY beat the corneria stage where you have to save General Pepper. that was a nightmare and i was screaming with relief that they gave me a bonus +10 hit points on the last shots

I remember when my friends and I used to duke it out on the pvp mode for this game. It was this Metroid Prime and Smash before we moved to Timesplitters and Halo. I miss sitting around on the couch and playing split screen against each other. We can do it online and no longer have to worry about "screen watching" each other, but it was all in good fun.
Wolf is MVP of the campaign. I love how Star Fox and Star Wolf works together against the apiroids.
Just completed this game myself a few days ago, Stafox Assault has got to be my favorite Starfox game
Man this game brings back memories. I remember the struggle on gold medal. A fun trivial trick to share: that same prototype encountered early in the first point of this level. Shoot the floating turrets near it before taking it down. You can get a salvo of points from waves of enemies. Also, time your charge shots/bombs for awesome bonuses.
And to this day, no one still uses smart bombs wisely....

I always did love playing Star Fox during my 90's childhood. I also imagine a crossover that they would make excellent allies to the rebel alliance and their fighter squadron against the evil empire in STAR WARS! lol

This isn't about American politics! Let's try to stay focused here! I will say that the voices in the 3DS version are an improvement over the N64 version, but I think this game had the best voices for them!

Nintendo did a an amazing move by letting Namco co-develop the game. They've made some great on-rail shooters in the past!

At 1:52:58 too, he lost two lives and tried to hide it. Also take note of 2:50:33 how in the beginning he had blue lasers but somehow he now has the single shot. If you take a look at the counter, he died 3 times. So in total this guy has 6 deaths that he tried to hide. I don’t care that he died, I do care that he’s trying to deceive viewers, or perhaps he merely just cut out the deaths to save time, I’m not sure which.
Edit: Nevermind I read the description. He admits he died several times and that he cut them out so he obviously wasn’t trying to hide them, my apologies for making that assumption.
Protip: In the hideout, as well as on Sauria, get in the Arwing IMMEDIATELY and start taking out baddies until the gauge is empty. Then land, and go for the targets. This tactic buys a fair bit of time to take out the targets.
Star fox assault is personally 1 of my favorite star fox games besides the original and 64 because it's soo awesome I personally didn't like star fox adventures as much it was ok but star fox assault in my opinion was wayyy better
I rented this a long time ago. was a pretty fun game especially the multiplayer. but man...i hadn't realized how much ass kissing they give to fox. he literally has to do everything for the entire team and they only ask him to help while they barely do a thing
I would kill to get this game remastered on Switch man. Tighten up those controls and improve a few things here and there Wind Waker HD style and you're golden. Especially after the mess that was Zero

@@Tjerty It's really not that expensive or time consuming to remaster a game cube game. Wind Waker HD took 6 months and wasn't even a high-priority project.

Especially towards the end, people start biting the big one and Fox's line to the final boss. "She tried to cheap evolution by stealing souls. But you have to be born with one in the first place."

I had so much fun with this game. Whether alone or with friends. This IS my favorite space themed game, with the original battlefront 2 taking 2nd place.

if this game had the same amount of time that you play on foot, for the time that you pilot the arwing, it would be much more better...some improved sound effects would make it just right too, and l'm not even complaining about the voices, only the explotions, the sound effects of the arwing flying, etc.

This is what the discontinued Starwing II game for the SNES became also if ANYTHING they need to create a prequel showing the First Starfox team Fox's Father James McCloud, A slightly younger Peppy Hare The treacherous Pigma Dengar and so on it'd be great to see the origins of Fox and his team, create the prequel showing what happened up until Pigma Betrayed them, there is a Starfox Wiki about the Starwing universe
This game wasn't perfect by any means but I do feel it's extremely underrated. Sure there were way to many ground levels and the campaign itself was seriously too short, but despite all that the music's great, the graphics were solid for the time and I can tell effort went into making it a fun experience. I do feel this game deserves a remaster on the switch with some new modes and levels. Star fox is quite a dead franchise at the moment with zero not being well received. There's only so many times you can follow the same linear story before it gets old. At least assault tried something different
