I know this game gets hate, but this felt like the right direction of StarFox to go. Something about Fox or any other member of the crew going down on foot do disable a shield or bring some system back online while the others cover you in the air or with a land master just feels right! On top of liking the idea, I also love the designs of the ships! This is easily my favorite version of the Arwing and the Wolfens!

to be clear, i like how the craft you can pilot look, i just don't think they look like the Ar-wing or Landmaster. and i can't stand this version of GreatFox, looks short and fat rather then the sleek and majestic version in StarFox64. the wolfen does look great though.
It really was the right call. And just because of the on foot sections did people diss the whole game. If duel stick was the default it might have been a different story.. Star fox was at its peak here

I really wish they did a remastered version of this but also allows you to play as any of the team during story mode and be able to play versus mode against bots as well so you dont have to find people to play with. And maybe have some extra game modes like have one player be semi giant with more hp and faces the other players etc and whoever kills the big one becomes big next or other modes etc. Its been a huge dream of mine to at least play as krystal during the missions in story mode etc.
This is the Star Fox game that really made Wolf O'Donnell an important character to the franchise (and that really worked with Wolf's and Fox's rivalry). I have no idea why they introduced Panther for no reason - since Nintendo literally wants to re-release Star Fox 64 over and over again.
Man, I really miss this game. It's been so long since I played it. It's disturbing how similar the aparoids are to the flood from Halo. General Pepper and his ship controlled by the aparoids reminds me of the proto-gravemind in a way. Even the aparoid queen reminds me of the gravemind. This is definitely my favorite of the Starfox games.
This is my favorite Star Fox game throughout the series makes me think you and I could join the Star Fox team to take down the Aparoids throughout the Lylat System, use our skills to show these enemies what we are made of, and help Fox and his team defeat Star Wolf once and for all while finding the Aparoid homeworld to shoot down every last one of them until we take out the queen.

Awesome. Quick side note: if you destroy the robots surrounding the prototype weapon in missions 1 & 5, those... group enemies spawn for a certain amount of time.
I never owned this game, but my grandma had a GameCube at her place when I was younger. She saw that I was super into the starfox games, so after beating Dinosaur Planet, she got Assault for me to play and beat. Now I was never able to 100% it, but I was able to beat the story mode. And this was maybe back in 2007 or 2008
God damn this game is way ahead of its time, gameplay, graphics, etc. I hope we can get a remaster for the switch! I would love play this game all over, and the multiplayer…. Ho boy! So much potential!
Here's my idea for a new Star Fox game: Star Fox: Warfront Three years after the Aparoid Invasion, the Lylat System has been at peace...but sadly, Star Fox hasn't. Falco has grown bored and considers leaving the team, Slippy believes he's losing his worth to Star Fox, and Fox struggles with expressing his feelings for Krystal. Only Peppy Hare and Krystal keep the team from falling apart, though they realize that the cracks within Star Fox are getting worse by the day. One day, when they're called back to Corneria, it suddenly falls under attack by an assailant unknown to them. The invaders called themselves the Blood-Red Fleet and are led by Admiral Tyrhus, a tiger whose ruthlessness is matched only by his cunning and strategy. Star Fox and the Cornerian Defense Fleet fight against the Blood-Red Fleet, but Tyrhus outmaneuvers them and utterly decimates the majority of Corneria's forces. Star Fox is forced to retreat while General Pepper is executed by Tyrhus and declares Corneria his new based of operations as he begins his campaign to conquer the Lylat System. With Corneria defeated and General Pepper dead, Star Fox is the only hope for the Lylat System against Admiral Tyrhus. They must rally the denizens of the Lylat System and lead a rebellion against Admiral Tyrhus, all the while they work to stay together. But Admiral Tyrhus may prove to be their most deadly and fearsome opponent yet. It's a 4-player game, where the player can take control of Fox, Falco, Krystal, Slippy and Peppy. They must go to various planets to complete objectives to defeat the presence of the Blood-Red Fleet and liberate the planet by defeating the commanders. Some levels will be more of a battlefield like Star Fox Assault, where you can command your teammates to target certain enemies, take control of an Arwing or Landmaster, or revive your fallen comrades. Other levels will be revolve around stealth similar to Assassin's Creed, where the team must sneak into an area to complete an objective, either to obtain information or defeat a certain individual. One can also go aboard the Great Fox to speak with the team, learn lore of the Lylat System, train in training areas and improve the relationships of your teammates similar to Fire Emblem Three Houses. How your team feels about each other determines their compatibility in the field. Depending on your actions, several endings can be achieved, ranging from Star Fox valiantly defeating Admiral Tyrhus and remaining a team to Admiral Tyrhus destroying Star Fox and conquering the Lylat System. For all those who took the time to read this, thank you.
You can start programming this ot you can ask a indie game dev team to make this cause it sound like an awesome idea Dont forget to add "this is a fan game" in the disclamer and make it free so Nintendo doesn't sue you to oblivion
Very interesting idea. However, at first I read General Pepper being executed as General Peppy being executed. I honestly feel like if both Pepper and Peppy are killed, it raises the stakes even more. It makes it so that Team Star Fox is on a revenge quest for avenge Peppy.
Sounds like a decent first draft. It feels like Nintendo didn't have any ideas for what to do with the series so have just shelved it until something comes up
Yeah I’m saying when we had a console we all loved, the games were all focused on being good not gimmicky and flashy for micro transactions. It made them collectible and memorable. Now games are mostly a short.
My Twin brother and I loved watching our older brothers play this when we were kids. We enjoyed Fox and Falco from Super Smash Bros Melee, and we loved them even more in this. We especially loved Fox and Krystal's romantic relationship. Nostalgia at its best.
If you think about it, the Aparoids and their queen are a greater menace than Andross. With their ability to multiply, they nearly overwhelmed the Lylat System and the Aparoid Queen succeeded in what Andross didn't, nearly killed General Pepper and Peppy.
Don't forget going so far to use Sauria (Dinosaur Planet) as bait for Star Fox while decimating Corneria. Imagine what would happen if Andross did discover the Aparoids.
Man, this player is a real terror. I was really good at this game, but not THAT good. How do you know where to find the Xevious flags? On a side note, I'm sitting here imagining what the cutscenes in this already very cinematic game would look like if this game were remastered for the Nintendo Switch. The GCN was a beast of a console, but if it were on the Switch, it'd probably be like watching an animated movie.
Peppy softened Pepper's landing after Corneria. Peppy & R.O.B bailed in an escape pod before the explosion. All Team Wolf really did was lure away enemies, they just needed to survive long enough for the queen to get apoptosis'd and they're historically known for being good at surviving. TL;DR plot
Seeing all of what you can do in this game just show that this series would have gained more popularity and would have been on par with Mario sonic mega man and pac man if only critics weren’t being so harsh towards this franchise then maybe Nintendo would have gave it another shot. Hopefully since the 31st anniversary is coming up next month we’ll at least get something. But then again I’ve been through disappointment many times so I’m keeping my fingers crossed 2:13:10 the music BRO COME ON NINTENDO 😫😫😫😫😫😫bring this BACK
Fun fact: in some locations, you can make more enemies spawn in weird ways. I.E., hover in front of the second and third shield generator towers in the Fichina level and enemies will spawn below you. Be advised: the second tower's hidden enemies are the durable four-legged mortar Aparoids, and you'll have to get out from above them if you don't want them to hurt you.
I was happy with my GameCube copy but man, being how close it was to the release, imagine if they released this game for the Wii as well... Using the wiimote for camera and targeting while using the nunchuck to maneuver, swishing the Wiimote right or the nunchuck left to DO A BARREL ROLL, the list is endless... There probably would've been a few things lost from how it functioned on the GameCube but I'm sure they would've made it work!
no. it wouldave failed even harder since motion controls were an annoying gimmick. its why they always made sure to have controllers for seperate cuz even tendo knew motion controls got annoying real fast
Actually I think it cannot be too long. Most of the remaining 64 games are IPs not or no longer fully owned by Nintendo, such as Diddy Kong Racing, Banjo Tooie, Conker's Bad Fur Day (Rare), Star Wars Podracer, Mickey's Speedway (Disney), licensed sports games... There's Pokémon Stadium 1&2, Donkey Kong 64 and Mario Party 3 as the only safe major 64 titles that must be upcoming somewhere in the near future (as they have to slowly press out releases to keep people subscribed). The rest is up in the air and a GameCube emulator shouldn't be too far away. Biggest problem is the size of Gamecube games, but the emulator would launch with very few titles anyways and future consoles would have more space (and Nintendo at that point no longer care about dated systems running out of space). A Star Fox title early into its launch is to be expected, especially if they remaster Metroid: Prime 2 and the GameCube Zeldas in the near future, which is to be expected, so these would be crossed out and not available in their original shape in an emulator up till a long time later. So one Star Fox back in 2025, it is only a coin flip if it is going to be Adventures or Assault...
@@madness9651 Nintendo still owns the rights to Star Fox, and it was Namco-Bandai who developed it. And Star Wars Episode I Racer is already on Switch.
Looking back at this game from 2005, I forgot how the AI during ground missions was kinda bland, they don't even attack your allies when they deploy with you on the ground. Cockroaches from Half-Life 1 had better AI programming and that was in 1998! And this game came out almost a year after Half-Life 2 was released. EDIT: I noticed that allied characters can take damage during ground missions if they're caught in the crossfire but still.
@@malacaegaming6815 Huh. Never thought of it that way......Unfortunately I'm not a big fan of meat......I choose Panther because while he can't help himself with pretty girls, at least he's not a double-crossing backstabber......
Took me almost two decades for me to realize General Pepper does have pupils that are just very high up in this game, and that he doesn't just have white sclera covering his entire eyeball that make him look like a possessed hellspawn, like Pigma.
Maybe that's why as a kid I had terrible nightmares. It got so bad to a point that my parents banned the game. I would always rent the game for a video store but the original 64 version is the one I played the most
This game was so well done. I wish Nintendo would remaster all of their old games especially these where it's free roam and lit especially the music 🔥🔥
. . . . . . Until she leaves Star Wolf and becomes an Anti-Hero mercenary. It's implied to be happening in the timeline Fox and Falco quit Star Fox and become professional racers.
In this timeline, I think it's implied that Krystal started dating Panther because she wants to make Fox jealous and make him feel bad for kicking her out of the team but deepdown she still love him and it hurts her to do that
if you mean the on foot missions, it's because Starfox assault works in 'sandbox'/open' levels that are far more hardware demanding. It's like comparing Breath of the Wild (30 frames) to Windwaker HD (60 frames) on the Wii U. with that said, to this day starfox adventures is one of the best looking games I have ever seen, even now it is impressive and has aged so well.
Three things. 1. Miyu and Fay from Star Fox 2. 2. Be able to play as whoever you want, not only have the other crew members as decoration/gimmick. 3. Be able to set up your team, with different bonuses for each formation you chose.
Maybe one day he'll do Star Fox 1, Star Fox 2, and/or Star Fox Adventures. Those are the 3 remaining starfox games he has not done, but it's his choice not the viewers. I do believe starfox zero, Guard, & 64 3D can't technically be TAP yet.
Watching this game now, it's so similar to Halo. I mean, Fox = Master Chief Peppy is a little like Sgt. Johnson ROB is like Cortana General Pepper is obviously Captain Keyes The Aparoids are obviously the Flood
Amazing, youre a beast! Quick question, do you know how exactly the "time bonus" score at the end of every mission works? Ive never understood if its worth it to take some time to get more score killing dudes or not, thanks!!
Next progress is Kirby's Block Ball a remake for real TAP more improve.

I'd love to play this on the switch
2:08:14 Why hasn't THAT track been released on the soundtrack album? It's awesome!
Quite the curtain call
That Pigma boss...Dang that was fast.
Tool assistance fuckin ROCKS!!! The beautiful accuracy
Favorite Franchise Star fox
Looking back at this game from 2005, I forgot how the AI during ground missions was kinda bland, they don't even attack your allies when they deploy with you on the ground.
Cockroaches from Half-Life 1 had better AI programming and that was in 1998! And this game came out almost a year after Half-Life 2 was released.
EDIT: I noticed that allied characters can take damage during ground missions if they're caught in the crossfire but still.

Random question: Who would you rather be stranded on an abandoned island with; Pigma, or Panther?(Personally, I'll take Panther over Pigma any day)
pigma reason being he would probably be easier to kill if food was needed
@@malacaegaming6815 Huh. Never thought of it that way......Unfortunately I'm not a big fan of meat......I choose Panther because while he can't help himself with pretty girls, at least he's not a double-crossing backstabber......
@@malacaegaming6815 Damn I like that thinking; great source of food
One thing I think would improve the grounded missions would be if the combat were to be more like Ratchet and Clank's.
Anyone else get some serious Jet Force Gemini vibes from the 3rd person in person shooter sections?
Is it just me or is General Pepper terrifying looking in this game?
Pigma is worse, I think.
nah, he's just too "old" or idk
Took me almost two decades for me to realize General Pepper does have pupils that are just very high up in this game, and that he doesn't just have white sclera covering his entire eyeball that make him look like a possessed hellspawn, like Pigma.
Maybe that's why as a kid I had terrible nightmares. It got so bad to a point that my parents banned the game. I would always rent the game for a video store but the original 64 version is the one I played the most
Did fox break the fourth wall
We need remake star fox: dinosaur planet adventures & assault.
Like a remastered sequel that connects to Zero?
Yes @@republicempire446
This game was so well done. I wish Nintendo would remaster all of their old games especially these where it's free roam and lit especially the music 🔥🔥
I always loved the opening fleet battle
Dang, you're good.
Panther actually gets with Krystal in an alternate ending for the DS version (not the 3D one). Poor Fox is left devestated

Until she leaves Star Wolf and becomes an Anti-Hero mercenary. It's implied to be happening in the timeline Fox and Falco quit Star Fox and become professional racers.
Not canon
In this timeline, I think it's implied that Krystal started dating Panther because she wants to make Fox jealous and make him feel bad for kicking her out of the team but deepdown she still love him and it hurts her to do that
Best story
Man, you're fast and awesome at this. You should see my run
Aparoid,,, I think you mean ApaBORG.
When I saw peppy crash the great fox I cried
This game was fun, but I never understood how the graphics dropped so bad after starfox adventures.
if you mean the on foot missions, it's because Starfox assault works in 'sandbox'/open' levels that are far more hardware demanding. It's like comparing Breath of the Wild (30 frames) to Windwaker HD (60 frames) on the Wii U.
with that said, to this day starfox adventures is one of the best looking games I have ever seen, even now it is impressive and has aged so well.
A Star Fox Game needs airwing levels, blue marine levels, landmaster levels,on flor levels
On foot levels
Three things.
1. Miyu and Fay from Star Fox 2.
2. Be able to play as whoever you want, not only have the other crew members as decoration/gimmick.
3. Be able to set up your team, with different bonuses for each formation you chose.
I love Krystal
I wonder when we’ll get a straight up TAS, where it just breaks the game.
Indeed.
I thought nothing but Gundam Seed this whole time, I just want to let you know.
Watching this game now, it's so similar to Halo. I mean,
Fox = Master Chief
Peppy is a little like Sgt. Johnson
ROB is like Cortana
General Pepper is obviously Captain Keyes
The Aparoids are obviously the Flood
Epic playthrough 👍
Amazing, youre a beast! Quick question, do you know how exactly the "time bonus" score at the end of every mission works? Ive never understood if its worth it to take some time to get more score killing dudes or not, thanks!!
Idk I liked Assaut it's one of the better starfox games
How you pass without Damege???
it’s a tool assisted playthrough man
also learn how to spell
you are hamming it up like it was thanksgiving
