Interviews are said to have taken two three hours, and she asked in the beginning serious questions to warm the interviewees up. That’s why people were baffled when the nonsensical questions came.
how come they don't know what they're in for 😂

Referring to the world wars as a “franchise” absolutely blew me off my chair the first time and it will continue to do so every time I hear it 💀💀💀
Well look at how much money they've made off movies and books since then!
let's hope the sequel never comes out.
@@tochukwuudu7763you mean the trilogy 😅 the sequel already got released lol
@@gangisspawn1well for the USA war is a franchise.
It absolutely blew my mind considering we already have sequels to the World War franchise in middle east, east europe and china. This sequel is going to be bigger, more expensive, more explosive than everything it succeeds.
"Chewbacca?" "No that's stretching it." Lmfao this too funny
The guy didn't even crack a smile. What a legend.
Boss level dude

he quickly figured it out and played along
He is an absolute legend. Best thing that came out of this incredibly funny series.

Might be the greatest line I've ever heard

Anyone else die when she said "Eventually Darwin evolved himself into a corpse" 😂
Yeah, Darwin.
Change over time 😂
“Before evolving again into worms and dust.”
bro i evolved into a corpse too when she said that
Yep
Radio was an exciting new invention that made it possible to hear other peoples voices in your living room without the use of thin walls or a devastating mental condition.
Hahahaha : )
Now we got video graphics in our palms to aid our devastating mental conditions 🫡

Funny thing it's not so far from truth.
@@antasosam8486 I know! That's what makes is so funny: on the one hand it's a "stupid" (or rather "ignorant") Philomena-like statement, on the other hand it actually makes sense from the evolutionary point of view :D
For me it twinned with Stephen Fry's platinum observation "poor people, are very thin often".
"He was dead important, by which I mean he was only important when he was dead"💀
Where’s the lie? 😂😂😂😂 💯
I gotta remember that one 😂

As a college professor this happens frequently in submitted assignments. I know I should be severe about it but it makes me laugh every time.
The world war 1 question hit me hard. Did they know it was the start of a franchise?
Like how did they know they would have a sequel?
The thing is she's not wrong, it was called World War I before WWII happened - so we were indeed bloody pessimistic 😂
@@ChadNiebuhr it wasn't. It was called the Great War
@@flaviospadavecchia5126 Yes, I'm very much aware. It was called the Great War at the time, but it was also called the First World War long before the Second World War ever broke out.
@@ChadNiebuhr "......long before........" LOL You do know there were only 20 years between 1919 and 1939? How "long before" was the Great War rebranded ?
She basically was that student who asked the questions every teacher dreaded; some seriously brilliant and rhetorical or plain impossible to answer, some completely trolling them; but they'd never know what to expect. Kept the teacher on edge and made them question their program. She just made it her profession to do that now, and I'm here for it!!!
yeah she's definitely playing the student making the teacher regret saying that there are no stupid questions
I'm a teacher and I love how random the kids are. They ask things I've never thought of and I have to gather my thoughts first
The history bloke with the short grey hair who looks fairly cross, deserves a medal. He rides with it extremely well
My favorite moment was the big and intimidating military historian giving her a moment to regain her composure when she gets upset contemplating the possibility of nuclear war & agrees they can talk about something else. She asks him if he likes ABBA and he says "I love ABBA"
@@MikeSmith-lh5fq And he says it so utterly and deadly seriously. Absolute crease!
@MikeSmith-lh5fq I love that part. It's actually kinda wholesome 😭
"Who's Ron?" Ron??? "Ya, the guy who signs all of his poems by Ron?" Do you mean Lord Byron?
I died there lol
Reminds me of how here in Italy a lot of boys born after WW1 were reportedly named Firmato, literally "Signed".
That's because the proclamation of victory in the war ended with "signed - Diaz" (the Chief of Staff at the time), but many thought it was his Christian name. Since a saint with that name exists, the Church went along with it.
the way this part killed me 💀
The way the expert gasped had me 😂😂😂

I kept on getting recommended these and was eventually pestered into clicking on this one and now I don't know how I've lived my whole life without her.
The shouting at helicopters always gets me. Such a perfect parody of these strange things we’ve just come to expect in documentaries.

The Byron and WWI franchise joke killed me.

Love her narrating voice, dead-pan speech is suitable for any documentary.

I have just begun to experience her & her humor has me almost in tears!!!!! ❤️
It is very funny but also feels very lovely and kind that Philomena asks questions based on misunderstandings of words and the interviewer will just gently correct or answer the question. And honestly I would love that sort of thing in regular interviews. Stupid questions are important journalism too
There are NO 'stupid questions'.
No one is born with ANY knowledge.
Everyone makes mistakes / misunderstands at some time in their life.
(Search 'mondegreens' for simple examples.)
Far too many people are afraid to ask questions due to previous experience/s of being thought stupid and / or being treated like a fool. (Probably by their school teachers and / or by the actual fools in their class.)
EVERY person who asks ANY question deserves to be treated with respect.
Philomena's 'innocence' is refreshing.
Questions come from misunderstanding and / or absence of understanding - and, most importantly, willingness and eagerness to learn.
There are NO 'stupid questions' - only stupid (usually arrogant) answers.
No one should ever be afraid of asking questions nor made to feel foolish for asking any question.
Those who deride or demean others for asking questions are usually the most ignorant and afraid to admit it.
If one can't explain in words and concepts that are suitable for a five year old to comprehend, one doesn't fully understand the subject at hand.
(Sorry to get so philosophical.)

I lost it at "some stuff happens that isn't skidding."
5:52 I don't know yet what the contexts were, but for me this is a sign of humble from the experts. He was not hesitant to ask if something were not within his knowledge, rather play if and fake it.
I don't get people who have to lie if they don't know something
1:05 hair/heir and crown..... Brilliant use of Puns.
The editing is just gold.
The "Who's Ron?" Lmao
4:11 she is, in fact, not wrong, to this day no one knows who Jack the Ripper was, his name or why did he accept his nickname just like that, and, he probably would have died years ago from age, but i think he is probably alive (i have not checked the dates in years so idk)
And, she is also correct, Jack the Ripper could have been someone's neighbor for years and they could have never known
Also, the question abt if Jack the Ripper was his real name is also very valid and a real question
@marimaricopiko who knows babes who knows
And at 0:49, you can see a man questioning his entire existence and field of work.
She was the progenitor of the Winton meme
Also her being a consistent queen by never understanding the concept of death through every interview
That " HELLO WHO ARE YOU " is make me roll laughing.
