- Mike shows us how to clean a Springfield Armory Hellcat easily using a bore snake. All gun cleaning supplies will be on sale at our End of Season Gun and Hunting Event this weekend, January 28th-31st, and all bore snakes will be 50% OFF, so it's the perfect time to stock up on multiple calibers.
Exactly what I needed. Short simple and to the point.
Thanks for this! So incredibly helpful.
I think I trust this guy more than any other
If you clean while assembled you can feed the boresnake up the mag well then down the barrel, that way it gets the feed ramp a bit better as you pull it through
Came here to say the same thing. 👍
Thank for explaining it slowly learn a lot from it thank from Puertorico
Great video, short and to the point.
Very good, informative video... thank you for this... my CCL instructor went thru this quickly, I couldn't remember some steps. Thank you.
I use a q tip to clean the slide rails and feed ramp
I felt like I wasn't cleaning enough after going to the range, I was overdoing it I think. Thanks for this!
Good information
Thank you!
I was wondering about the front part of the frame. I rented the Pro and underneath the barrel it looked silver as if the paint came off the frame. Have you seen this and can the color come back? I also noticed on the Pro where you can connect a light, it was completely worn down.
You should try not to get any oil into the firing pin channel. I think you did a good job with the video. Thanks!
Yeah, that should stay dry. I might take the pin out and pour 91 rubbing alchohol on it to clean it, but never ballistol or any other “lubricant”. It can cause soft primer hits, when it gunks up with debris over time if you put oil in it.
Thanks
Good video! I read an interesting article the other day from a Viet Nam vet that said handguns that are routinely field stripped are more likely to wear out sooner than later due to effect on clearance tolerances over a period of time. Basically to leave it together as much as possible and clean out the chamber area, ramp and run a brush or snake through the barrel, using solvent if needed forma very dirty barrel, but that was the crux of the story. I have no way to validate this information however!
No oil in the barrel?
Your "little dabs" of oil seem a little excessive, but then, who am I to tell you anything.
Question : wont spraying the slide get solvent inside the striker assembly?
Yes it will, he doesn’t exactly know what’s he’s doing for a quick clean. But this would be fine if you planned on breaking down the slide and cleaning the springs and striker system and even the ejector system. This gun is not a hard gun to keep clean but it can be a little crazy taking apart
Yep, even on the HC manual it says make sure to not lubricate that area
Does that grip rub the hell out of your hand after shooting it for a while? I only got to handle it at the counter at the range.. They didn't have one I could shoot.. But it seemed pretty rough..
The grip isn't as rough as you'd expect, I've gotten to shoot the Hellcat and the Hellcat Pro and can say they're both great guns. I personally think they have great grips and in one shooting session I shot about 200 rounds out of it and my hands were perfectly fine
@@rynebell5362 thank you
did it while he did it
Why wouldn't you also spray the gun body...with Gun Scrubber?
