I went to the then college now universtity for 12 months (1988/89) to do my advanced city and guilds in plumbing/heating and so spent most lunchtimes around the shops and a pub on Park Farm. Happy times for me, looking back, being about 18 and that area was always welcoming and generally very friendly to an out of town youth. It's genuinely sad for me to see how over my 53 years communities have slowly been separated, divided and well on the way to eradicated. What I mean is, these shops and areas were where locals would pass the time of day and interact. Humans generally don't do well mentally, physically and spiritually when they are spending most of their lives alone, secluded etc. It won't be long before a majority of society only interact with who lives with them or their tv or their VR headsets.... I won't be among them! All the very best bro and thanks for the memories being sparked. 🙏
Allestree , probably the last place with surplus income , but that won't last. Myself and a few others used to leaflet for the BNP around there , a mixed reception in fairness , the usual story though .. if it doesn't effect me personally why gaf? Sad . Keep up the good work Brother .
