You have to remember, Nathan is bugfuck, batshit insane. He has just enough sanity to do his job and take care of Shilo and little else. He's quite likely one of the most brutally sadistic of the Repo Men on the GeneCo payroll.
Yeah but he was framed for his wives death and he was forced into the repoman role he is the OG repoman so think of it like this if u had to repo thousands of thousands of organs by any means necessary u would go into a pyschotic mental break as well and start to get a blood lust for it
Not really, no. He is desperate and doesn’t see a way out. You can see it extremely good in Night Surgeon. The tortured „I remember“ when they confront him with what he thinks he has done to Marnie. I mean he thinks he murdered his wife and fears that Shilo finds out and leaves him completely alone. It’s a real tragedy! I don’t see anything cruel in this character.

Love the "suit up to kick ass" montage you get with Nathan in this song. Too bad he gets taken down so easily on the stage. Terrance told me that if he ever got to do a directors cut (unlikely unfortunately), that he wanted to have Nathan hack and slash his way to the stage and either get severely overpowered, or jumped 6 ways from sunday to make his fall seem less like a puss out.
lucky you met him! i personally dont think nathan wimped out but hey Terrance has the say its his character and i do agree nathan was an amazing character so id love for Terrance to get to give him the send off he deserved.
The acting skills to be able to change voices as well as physically act like Anthony does for Nathan there requires insane amounts of talent with convincing facial expressions, body movement, and the difficulty that is on the vocals. Amazing!

While those are both great, I think the best is how the two women turn to look at Graverobber when he starts singing "Bloodbath". "Is he singing at *us*? Or is he just... singing?"

@@JamaicanCastle There a couple of different musicals that have a "narrator" type character who is in the story but has a direct connection to speaking directly to the audience, it's so cool. So yeah he's classed as a narrator character

That's pretty much what's going on with him...His persona switches from Doctor to Butcher when he dons the gear of the Repo Man. It's pretty much how he copes with doing something he'd otherwise have no part in, considering he's more about saving lives than taking them...I mean, he would be if Rotti hadn't done what he did.

Look I'm just saying, if some old dude messaged me with "hey I've got your dead mom's dress that she wore when she was your age. Mind wearing it for me?" I'd hurl the box out the car window in horror.
Okay, I'm convinced that once they cast Sarah Brightman as Blind Mag, they were like, "Let's put in as many 'Phantom'-y references as we can." This scene has her walking through a cemetery, singing to herself, complete with a chandelier-looking thing at the end. If that's not "Wishing You Were Somehow Here Again", I don't know what is. Heck, even the characters of Christine and Mag are similar: Both are incredible singers who start off their stories sweet and innocent only to realize they've been manipulated and blackmailed by a creep who wants to use their singing talents only for himself. Not that I'm complaining, of course; if anything, I think Sarah's performance as Blind Mag shows just how far she's come as an actress since her Christine days, it's just amusing to me that the characters have so much in common, which is only further emphasized by the choice of staging.
1:02 This back and forth is easily the best part of this entire song.

well the scene where he kills the the poor sucker to repo his spine when he's on the phone with shilo, if you pay close attention he repeled down to catch him so it kinda explains the grappling hook
all of his gear makes sense since he literally is ordered to do anything to catch his targets, so people are running?- kunai,throwing knives,batarang.Somebody jumps down somewhere or climbing to get away?- grappling hook

@BloodLustingKitten No, that was intentional. That's where the mannequin of Marni was. I think the implication was that the dress Rotti offered Shilo was, in fact, stolen from that mannequin.
In a (non filmed) deleted scene Rotti has GraveRobber steal it from the wall. In another deleted scene Needle Through A Bug, it is her body on the ground.
I wonder if GraveRobber went to the opera?

@Floweramon It had to do with a scene they edited out for time. That wasn't a mannequin, Marni's body was supposed to be in the wall. Watch the Commentary with Darren Bousman and Paris Hilton for Needle Through A Bug, it explains it a bit more.

Well Shylo does use the lyric "You used my mother's death to use my father, you used my father's death to use me too". Which almost infers shylo learned somehow. It's like how Marnie's body is gone at 0:25 because of a subplot that was likely removed from the film. (Which included Needle through a bug). I will say though, i'm totally fine with them having removed come and try my new parts as it would have messed up some of the tone of the film. Which shows sexy things but never sex itself.
