To sum up :
This girl is in average : 172,9 cms the morning, 171 cms in the evening. Intersting facts : She lost 80 % of the 1.9 cms in ONE HOUR after getting out of bed. She said, she lost IN 40 MINUTES , 60 % of the 1.9 cms ! After 3-4 hours, she obtain her evening height.
During the sleeping = 60 % of the height are recovered after 2-2H 30 of sleep, around 80 % after 3 hours. After 5 hours, we observe a plateau after around 5 hours of sleep which corresponds to the time required to recover its full height.

based on your age you very well could grow to 6’ it’s possible but also possible to not grow at all. height is weird and impossible to predict accurately but hey there’s always that wish for a dennis rodman type growth spurt(5’9-6’8)

I'm 188.8-9 sometimes even 189 in morning and at night I'm usually 187.2 no matter what I do, some day when I stood for like the entire day my lowest was 187. At lunch I'm 187.6-7. If I were a celeb, I'd be listed as 6ft 1 3/4 I believe 🥰

Well it depends, if you're a early bloomer who had his growing spurt earlier then usual and then you will grow only like 9 _ 12 cm
But however if you are still have not hitted puberty and basically you're genetically tall, then you're going to be extremely tall like +195 cm !
ANYWAY don't worry about your height anyway you're going to be tall!

i grew up to 179-183 centimeters now. i dont certainly know but i measured with a guy 184 cm with shoes, him using crocs, he is my mom's friend btw, and i was taller than him by a little, i also forgot to mention that i have a grand uncle that is around shaquille o neal's height, thats also my dream height.

@@RobPaul this proves that Jenny in her younger days could easily pull out 5.9', a big woman here in London. Because of osteoporosis, women are more prone to lose bone density with age, she is losing a full inch throughout the day, as we saw her afternoon height a while back.

Hi Rob, I have a question to ask you. Measuring yourself using a gate is reliable? I use a tape measure to measure my height, under the door there is a small space maybe one cm where I can put the head with my foot to measure upwards and that it completely touches the ground giving me an out of bed of 1.80 but when measuring from I feel that the coverage does not remain fixed on any wall, but rather it bends, giving me one cm less. Which do you think is more reliable? I have tried to measure myself on a small wooden board and when placing the foot the coverage bends, leaving it uneven.
Ideally the tape should not be bending, as that could then result in you over-measuring yourself by a fraction.
@@RobPaul It is strange, since the strap is fully extended except at the bottom that bends a little to support the foot, subtracting one cm. If that is the case and I am exactly 1.80 cm after sleeping for about 6/8 hours, am I a good 1.79 or 1.78/2? thanks rob for your reply ✌🏻
Hello Rob. You remember me, do you? I'm constantly getting 179cm flat in the afternoon now. Close to 181 or 181cm in the morning. 180 flat is just 1 cm away and I just turned 18 a month ago. 180cm by 20 or 21yo is pretty much certain now right? You predicted 179cm and 180 as my final height and here i am.

It's a reasonable claim. If you went with low of 5ft 11, it would be rare for anybody to think you are not telling the honest truth about your height.
U seem to average over 181.5 cm, which is just under 5’11 1/2, not a bad claim

Hi Rob, would you say the wobble in the seca 213 stadiometre makes it less accurate and if so is a non portable stadiometre more accurate?
Rob I measure 179 to 179.2 cms right out of bed in the morning and anywhere between 176.8 to about 177.2 cms at the end of a 16 hour long day, I have tried measuring in the afternoon and it is in the 177.5 to low 178s range, can I claim 5'10" ? I also measured in the afternoon with a stadiometer at the chemist's shop and it came out about 178cms give or take a few mm. All the measurements are barefoot and pressing down on my hair so that the instrument touches the top of my head.
I think about 5ft 10 is ok for you, given you wake up at 5ft 10.5!

Hello rob, I know it has nothing to do with the videocbut I have a question and it is: How many hours do you need to sleep to make a correct measurement? I notice that I wake up between 1.80.5 and other times maybe wrongly measured at 1.80.8 if I sleep 8 hours or more but in a normal nap I usually wake up at 1.80 exactly. After two or three hours of being out of bed I shrink a centimeter and at night I always reach 1.78 so I always claim "1.79"
For me 8 hours seems enough, but 9 hours might help get the max morning height

Effects of being upright and gravity/pressure on our discs cause each of them to lose a little water content, which cumulatively adds up to on average near 2cm.
You are 6'0.5, not 6'1. You should claim at most 0.25 more than your lowest (which is 6'0.25 in your case).
I wake up at 6'2 and shrink to 6'1.25 and claim 6'1.5.

Quite a small fraction, unless it is quite thick like 1.5-2 inches.

So if you have a full blown beard it’s rare to grow much but if your growth plates are still open you can maximize growth by eating healthy and exercising
beard have nothing to do with height growth. If youre 18 years old or younger then you might grow some more.

Yeah you should be around 180-181 cm if your eye level is 5’6.5/169 cm

Eyelevel is typically 4.5 inches from the top of ur head so ur around 5’11
Its odd, When i wear flat shoes like converse all star , people say i look taller than when wearing shoes with a heel, like airmax 2090. I dont understand why this happen. They say i look taller in flat shoes.

Hi Rob. I had a question for you. I hear some people say that if a stadiometer is on carpet, their heels will sink down, under measuring them, but doesn’t the stadiometer sink too from being placed on the carpet?
What can happen is the stadiometer goes down slightly more (where your heels are standing) thus it becomes a bit uneven when measuring.

My case: just about 182cm - more accurately 181.5cm or exactly 5'11 1/2 the evening 10 hours out of bed(18:30) after having been running for 30-40 minutes for 7-8 km driving and swimming, having slept for about 8 hours the night before from 00:20 to 8:10.
My 1-2 hours out of bed height was recorded at 182.1-182.2cm or just about 5'11¾.

I am 177cm in the evening (176,5 absolute low) and I always claimed 5'10, as I wake up 178,5cm. Nobody ever complained. But NEVER try to claim 180+cm, when you are in fact around 177cm, it will not work (I tried, lol...).

@@woke7987 at Lunch around 177,5cm. If you are 17, you still have time to grow. For now you can always do stretching and drink plenty of water to slow down the shrinking during the day. Though I think nobody would question if you claimed 5'10 anyway ;-)

Not Rob but I’ll answer, 192-193 seems to be ur average, so 6’3 1/2 is a pretty good claim, u could also get away with 6’4.

Me. I'm a very strong 6'1.
I measure 6'1.25 or 186cm at the very very worst and a hair above 6'2 or 188cm out of bed at my absolute best.
On normal days or when I don't do much I'm usually 6'1.5 or 186.7cm at my low. I just claim 6'1.5 when someone asks.
I normally wear shoes that give 1.25 inches and with them on reach 6'2.5-6'2.75 as my lows (189-190) and 6'3.25 as my high (191+).
With 2 inches boots I reach 6'3.25-6'3.5 (191-192) as my lows and 6'4 (193) as my high.
My Eyelevels barefoot range 5'8.75 to 5'9.5. If you are a strong 6'1 like me, then you will always clear 6'2 in shoes, even with 0.75 Converse.

I’m weak 6’1, (6’0 3/4) and I have long messy wavy hair at the top, it does make me appear slightly taller, and with proper footwear that adds over 1.25 inches, I could blend in as a weak 6’3

Rob, how much do you think APT and lordosis affect height? When I measure, I always stand as tall as possible but my spine curves and there’s a pelvic tilt. Do you think if I do stretches over time, I could possible increase my measurements by 1-2cm?
I think with lordosis, there may be some room for improvement if it can be corrected.

184-185 is tall. I’d say you might reach 188.

3cm in the last 6 months is fair. That’s about 2.5 inches in a year. Next year it would slow to 1.5 inch then 1 inch then almost nothing. You’d probably grow 2.5 inches.

If you don’t have facial hair or look quite young and havnt hit 100 percent puberty your chances of growing a bit more increases to aboit 30 percent, I broke my foot and my growth plates are still open at 21 and I’m 6 ft 3/4- 6ft 1.25 range

It sometimes happens that you could have a man with near 5 inch eye level and a women closer to 4, thus throwing up such a discrepancy.

The average is close to 2cm, so 1 inch is a bit greater. Jenny can shrink near this amount, even in her 50's.
As people age and when they get into 60's and 70's, the difference between morning and evening reduces a fraction.

The general rule for me anyway is that 7cm + or - the average would be considered tall and short. So you’re below average.

In the last few years seems he's heading under 5ft 6, though whether he's lost 2 inches since his prime is the question...a good chance given his age, he's lost that much.
@@RobPaul I remember on a radio show decades ago he claimed to be on the shorter side and only mentioned the two heights 5'5" or 5'6" but didn't say which he was (he was asking guys of similar range to him to call in but he also stated it wasn't very short but just a bit short). It's unlikely he was ever taller than 5'6" if that.

When measuring with tape measure It could come up between 174 to 176.5( not based on time of day the results are random every time i measure !! But most of time I get 174 or 175 after few hours out of bed .)
I know a men that claim he is 178_180 when standing next to him he is barely taller then me. My dad is 165 cm with tape measure and he is exactly at my eye level. My mom is like 158 cm with tape measure and she is like 1 or 1.5 cm below my nose. How ever things started to get confusing when my older sister claimed she is 168 cm and she is basically at my eye level or a little bit higher (tough I never measured her with tape) i have another sister who is 173.5 with tape measure,she have lots of thick hair so when I messure her with hair she is between 175.5 to 176
My mom said when I standed next to her I was exactly same height as his full height with hair.
I have a friend that claim he is 178 cm
But when I stand next to him I'm a little bit like only 1 cm taller then him though I had thicker shoes then him so I think im same hieght as him.
Again I have another friend who claim to be 173 and people tell me I'm like 3 or 4 cm taller then him and that was 4 months ago I have grown a bit since that.

Usually 201.3 out of bed, 198.8 at my low. It's weird though, some mornings I'm barely over 200cm, like 200.5cm, yet my low is always the same.

I think it’s fair to say what you are majority when someone sees you. For example if your max is 200cm then it means most of the day you are 198-199cm. Either 198 or 199cm it’s gonna be ok 200cm not necessarily because it lasts only for some minutes in the morning. I am 189cm morning but most of the day I’m 187/188cm I just go with 188cm
