In this video ill be showing you the very best method to max level the Aerondight Silver Sword quickly and easily, during the early game, ideal for a New Game+ (NG+) play through.

However, for a New Game+ (NG+) play through, since you'll likely already have the sword at the start of the game (unlike in a New Game where the Aerondight can only be acquired late game), a method to continue quickly levelling the sword is required much earlier in the story, well before reaching Kaer Morhen or Toussaint.

Using Aard to knock them down works great once you get all the charges because you can finish them off with a single blow.

I have a tip for you who needs to make this faster. First of all, have the potion "Tawny Owl" (superior is better) and the decotion "Ancient Leshen". Now, go to the spot AT NIGHT (cause tawny owl never ends at night) and then, full load the Aerondight, and then use Axii on the enemy, and Geralt will finish the enemy immediately. If Geralt doesn't finish the enemy, just try to spell Axii again

Awesome , thank you this is going to save me so much time. Also want to thank you for the bit about the AT skill bug, I couldn't figure out wtf was going on when my Euphoria build could only handle 2 decoctions and 1 potion. Usually can get 4 decoctions and a couple potions.

I’ve just used the drowners around crook back. Although they only respawn after med, they die faster and there’s plenty of mobs to get your count up.

There is a much simpler way to level up Aerondight in NG+. In Velen, between the Hanged Man's Tree fast travel signpost and Monster Den cave northwest of the signpost, are three bandits by a campfire that respawn if you travel to White Orchard and then back to the Hanged Man's Tree sign post. They are low level enough that they are much easier to handle than the ones in Skellige but have enough health to level up Aerondight for over 15 levels on Death March mode with a full Euphoria build. An additional plus is that one of the bandits often spawns several seconds ahead of the other two so you can attack him and pull him further away before the other two bandits spawn in and spot you, making it easier to handle him and you can even fast save your game before you go after the other two bandits.

I've found another way for new game plus. The part with the rat nests in the Keira quest is great since its basically a constant stream of 1 shot enemies. Over 500 rats died that day. Unfortunately once you do the quest that's it

@@GamerGrade This :D I thought of this by accident while doing the quest, realized there was an endless supply of rats! Takes about 30 seconds per cycle, not sure if the spawns are faster if both the nests are still alive, I blew one up before realizing. Still really fast and convenient.
(Quest being Wandering in the Dark, by the way, in case anyone needs it)
Thanks for suggesting the video I feel like I wasted your time now because earlier tonight I finally figured out how to do it it was hard for me to get the hang of it first it took a few hours before I could actually get it to work but once I figured it out I've almost got it to 800 and it was at a 742 so I think I finally started to get it haha

i really liked the method of killing pirates in skellige which i found pretty easy because u can stack 10 aerondight charges and then usi aksji and one shot them, i dont know if it works if ur the same lvl as pirates because when i did that i was lvl 92 and pirates were lvl 57.
I turned on enemy upscaling then set the difficulty to just the story. After that I just fought town guards over and over, meditating to respawn them. They’re pretty easy when they’re at your level.

By the way to make it waaaay easier simply use Northern wind Bomb on the enemies once you have your sword charged to 10. They will freeze then hit one time(only one time or else they will unfreeze) to make them fall and unlocks the insta kill option for your next blow. Do the same for the other pirate after recharging your sword with 10 hits. I even took the skill that gives extra bombs so you don't need to meditate that often to replenish your bombs.
So that is it. Same video location but using Northern wind bomb to make easy kills instead of hitting them without end because the sword is silver

Hi everyone if anyone is interested in the sword Tlareg it's a silver sword a rare sword though I have find one on both playthroughs at this location go east of freyas garden to the coast it is a little onlook on the coast

Hi this is a good method to level up aerondight the first one is too but on ng + it takes a while to kill one Bear even on easy but I did find another method that works great to level up aerondight the bandits at devils pit with enemy upscaling off and on easy

@@GamerGrade I learned some things since writing this.
The charge meter doesn’t work unless it’s. Heavy attack, and you don’t cast any signs.
Maybe those are normal things I wasn’t aware of, but the charge meter wouldn’t grow and wouldn’t reset/level up on killing any enemies while I was casting signs and using light attacks.
is the quest no longer available if you go to this said location through a quest line with Lambert and kill the enemies in the town?
As long as you're hostile with the clan you should be good to go. The two clan members found at the location shown in the video should then infinitely respawn. 👍

I have a question. It's about creating a NG+. When I finished the main quest I tried the NG+ and it all went normal until I realised that I didn't have the blood and wine quest, only the hearths and stone quest, and I had both installed!
Anyone knows anything? Pls help!
Dont worry you simply need to progress the main story quest, once you are far enough the Blood and Wine related contract (Envoys Wineboys) will automatically become available and you will be notified 👍

Thats one of downside of the game is that pretty much all the Best gears you get them almost at the end of the game where there is not much to do anymore so you have grest gears but way too late since everything is almost done, not much to do after.... I find it sooo dumb
My friend, i just started a NG+ and followed everything you said but the dialogue is completely different, geralt starts with asking about Hammond and the guard replies that he is praying. Any idea what i did wrong ?
Ahh yes you need to be hostile with the clan at the village, can you attack them?

I'm currently on my 1st play through of the game and I'm half way through the HOS dlc. I have a sword with same name as the 1 your talking about but haven't done the quest for the guy sat on the little island to get it. My question is......Are they different swords or can I level up the 1 I have like this?
Unfortunately thats the wrong Aerondight and you cant level that one up. The correct one can only be acquired from the Hermit in Toussaint after completing the related secondary quest named 'There Can Be Only One'. Hope that helps! 👍
I watched part of your video about the sword but only until it says you get it from a mission. I didn't want any spoilers, which has been hard as its taken me since the game came out to get through the main game and start the dlc's. I have a stupid amount of swords and armour in my stash that I know I've forgotten about that have different abilities, I thought I remembered a sword that levelled up with you in the main game. Not sure if I'm remembering correctly or it's a memory of a weapon from another game
Wow you've definitely taken your time to get through the main story, if there's one game you should really take your time exploring, then The Witcher 3 shoudl be that game!
There's a few swords, like the Teigr Witcher Sword and Moonblade Relic that scales to Geralts level upon pickup, but they cannot be levelled up further. Most of the other Witcher School swords (Bear, Griffin, Wolf, Cat) can also be upgraded via Crafting, up to Grandmaster quality, but they dont continue levelling up with Geralt. The only sword which levels up to match Geralts own level, all the way up to his max level of 100 (to my knowledge) is the Aerondight.

I've not played it continuously that whole time, there's been 3 copies of the game and alot of life in between. I've recently picked it back up again just before the Isle of Mist and by what your saying about those 2 swords and I remember 1 from the lady of the lake maybe that it was levelled to your current level is maybe what I'm remembering
Yeah i understand, Its one of those games where if you leave it for too long, you want to start again from the beginning to fully appreciate the experience. Its pretty much available on every platform now, with next-gen versions coming soon, so another play through is in order.
The Aerondight which is the same sword given to you by the Lady of the Lake, also scales to Geralts level upon pickup, as well as scaling to Geralts level every time he levels himself.
The confusion is most definitely understandable.

Is there a way to get get upgraded to current level, sitting at lvl 40 grandmaster ursine but current lvl of 52....
Unfortunately none of the Witcher School swords can be levelled up beyond their crafted levels, only the Aerondight can be levelled up along with Geralt's level. Damn shame.

Ty, gonna try them. I'm 69 and addicted to this game , been playing it since it came out (Skyrim) too. Ok, gonna put the pedal to the medal, if my pc crashes and dies, gonna dig a grave in the back yard and dump it in there . This will be a great excuse to get my husband to buy me a new one. Putting George ( my 10 year old pc) out of his misery will actuality be an act of mercy.

Yeah thats fine although it doesnt really matter when you pick it up, as you can level the sword up to match your current level, all the way up to 100 :)

does the level upgrade..i got it from level 42 and its still level 42 in ng+
but the stats are 590
Every time Geralt levels himself, the damage cap of the Aerondight (the number shown in brackets in the weapon description) will raise by 10. Take a note of this number, then the next time Geralt levels up, this number should raise by 10. If thats tthe case then its working correctly. 👍

Unfortunately if the local clan are not hostile, the method will not work.
when is the best time to start hearts of stone dlc? during main story or after main story?
Personally i like to progress the main story until the point of no return (reaching the Isle of Mists), then i start and complete the HoS expansion. Then i continue to the Isle of Mists and complete the main story, then continue to Toussaint to start and complete B&W.
However thats just my personal preference, rather than being the 'best' progression 👍

Yes it is, and thats exactly what you should do before starting NG+. Complete the main game and both DLC's. This way you'll likely start NG+ at around level 60, which is the optimum level to start NG+ as Legendary Grandmaster witcher gear will then be at the level cap of 100 (40 levels higher than the level you start NG+) 👍

No it carries over and continues to level.
this trick doesn't work in next gen. The aerondight charges to 10 but doesn't upgrade damage when fighting humans.

Is it possible to spwan an aerondight early on in the game? E man lvl 1 aerondight via command or any other way? I would love to use it on a proper run of the game... NG+ is fucking boring... you already rips of coin, all the material you'll ever need and so on... for me it takes aeay from the game... but im playing just because of that sword, and all i want is a lvl1(ish) version of it
I just put it in my stash and use better swords. There must be 100 videos on how to level this sword up, in any context you must make extra effort to grind, grind, and grind some more to level it up especially on any difficulty under Death March. Playing on normal mode it will never level up, enemies are dead before the 10 charges.
Not worth it to me, just leave it in the stash and use a Witcher Sword.

Its actually fairly quick and easy to level up, and its crit-hit damage perk far out damages any other weapon in the game. Did you give this method a try? Or the Bears in Kaer Morhen?
so, the NG and NG+ version of te aerondight do the same damage?, then why should I pickit again?

Yes they are the same and you only need to get it in NG+ if you missed it first time round. Base damage at level 100 is 1232, but effectively it crit hits with every strike when you build and maintain 10 charges, so double that.
